The actress for Lara is really good, you can notice it particularly well because when let's playing the game, she really makes it seem like she's scared shitless and confused to no end even tho she is almost guaranteed to already having seen it at least once
The actress portraying Lara deserves nothing but praise. She sold those moments of dread very effectively. I hope she continues on to other projects. She is very good at what she does.

One thing I gotta say is that the actors in this ARG are actually really, really good. Like, I've studied acting all my life, and normally the acting in ARGs is always just not quite there, but for this one they really nailed it and it vastly improves the entire project.
I always saw it as a plus the slight acting issues. It allows to know it's not quite real? I can comfortably fall in disbelief knowing it is not real. Specially in the more realistic ones.
The fact that Sophie has on the make-up that Lara did is quite interesting though. It's obvious that it doesn't suit her whatsoever, a few people has pointed that out in the make-up tutorial video comments, and it's.. strange, I don't know what it would mean And also, note the fact that the Lara in the videos of her staring into the screen has brown eyes, the *real* Lara, the one with the vlogs and the gameplay, has blue eyes. edit: I just thought of the saying "eyes are windows to the soul", hmm.. might be nothing, but there is something about eyes I feel
not only that, but one of the eyes that fall to the ground int that gory scene isalso blue, or at least something similar and the other looks like light brown
Unfortunately, the eye colors are the same between the two: it's the lighting that makes it hard to tell the color. However, it is interesting to note the eyes that fall are a green-blue color.
Aries Salem Aries Salem I thought you might be right, but after a very close and critical double-check, they are right about their having different eye colour. You can clearly see that her eyes are in fact as dark as they seem during the scenes on the plane, when the lighting is bright and clear, there are multiple obvious purposeful, but brief, close-up shots (around 7:10 I believe *approx)) in which it becomes undeniably clear that she has darker, brownish coloured eyes. A few minutes later, we get the same sort of obviously purposeful close-ups of the other, vlogging, ‘real’ Lara’s very clearly, very different, pale blue eyes; well-lit, filmed clearly & directly face-on and they’re continually shown to be undeniably a very different, lighter, clearer colour than the other Lara in this sort of vlogging footage of hers - see around 10:16 for example.
Lara's acting is so good, just watching her makes me feel scared for her even though what shes playing is pretty standard creepypasta-esque stuff Lara's speechlessness and stuttering really sells it
Yeah, kind of made it that bit more unsettling. Only thing left to make it even more like a creepypasta though would be some sweet, sweet hyper-realistic blood and gore. Not realistic, hyper-realistic.
I definitely believe after a while she got under the control of SOMETHING. it's why she's acting less and less normally and why she's just contnuing to play the game and buy into it rather than deny it. The monster is making her continue to play and stopping her from actually thinking about it.
YES like if it was just the game by itself it would just come off as fairly average spooky game stuff, especially to people who are used to and expecting horror. Having her be the one to play it and to react so sincerely absolutely SOLD it. Fear can be hard to act without hamming it up, especially for sustained periods rather than momentary big-ticket reactions. She deserves SO much praise.

@@1finallygotunleashed it's good to see that there is a horror series with both great writing and acting and a good budget and is something that I feel is lacking in modern cinema. What are theories on this whole series. Like who's behind it all and the like.
what I find interesting is that there seems to be a message buried under here, or at least a theme. It's NOT just spooky and weird for the sake of it, there's a MEANING behind all this...
This series is way too good, and it's actors as well. You really want Lara to be alright, you want her to be safe and just be happy, but you also know what's coming and it's heartbreaking. Also, the dancing and talking to a stuffed animal? Way too close to home dude😅😅
Always sad to see Cabin Fever Dreams go, so I don’t mind it extending, especially to come back to a series that is super interesting and new like I am Sophie! ❤️

Your next video should be NM's Jack Torrance ARG. That will literally blow your mind. That was my first NM video and I'm stuck here ever since. And I do listen to his videos to fall asleep to.
Also, it’s funny to me how women who play video games (and there are nearly as many of us as men) are called “gamer girls” but guys who play video games are not called “gamer boys”.
@@echo3788 Not only that, but back then being a gamer generally was a girl repellent. Gamers were considered nerds and geeks, which was pretty much the bottom of the social totem pole. During the height of the Arcade days it was okay to drop a few quarters, but beyond that only losers didn't have something better to do with cooler people. Same with RPGs/D&D (although usually nerds played video games *and* D&D), there were a few "nerdy girls", but they weren't common & generally were outcasts too. At the core of it, the term "Gamer Girl" (the relatively recent pejorative usage for "girl pretending to be a gamer" aside) was supposed to be a Good thing. "This girl's awesome, she's a *Gamer* girl!"
iamsophie has been one of my favourite series in recent memory. I’m not the best analyst of this stuff, so hearing your coverage just makes me appreciate it that much more. I get the feeling we’re not even close to done with iamsophie, and I am here for it.
Holy shit the girl that plays Lara is amazing. Her acting is so real. The fear feels legitimate. I just wanna hug her. She’s also incredibly beautiful in a very real way. I hope she keeps getting work when this is over.
Simon decorated his room in flamingo's because 'they protect you in the eye of a hurricane' or something along those lines, isn't that similar to a line from Sophie's first video?? although we believe he didn't know about sophie before the video. I think he did know before because of that line.
I cracked up on the reaction video when the audio cut out right after she said Fortnite It was like the guy recording the screen was like "Nope, don't say that, cursed word"
Fun detail I spotted! At 25:18 the title screen has the numbers 19, 20, 15 and 16 which can be put through the A1Z26 cypher to get STOP Doesn't add anything really, but I thought it was interesting!

I still love it and it's my standard for found footage web-series.
I feel like in a few months I am Sophie will take that place because man, it's clear that this is a serious production and by all accounts could actually be made by a media company and not just individuals. I'm so excited to see where this goes.
Calling it out ruins the immersion
Always sad to see Cabin Fever Dreams go, so I don’t mind it extending, especially to come back to a series that is super interesting and new like I am Sophie! ❤️
New to Channel, What is Cabin Fever Dreams?
@@biscuitgidoni2804 I'd like to know too
She got freaked out by the game knowing her name. But after ddlc I think it wouldn’t be as terrifying. At first atleast. Later it gets scary but later on it’s spooky
Responding to her /spoken/ lines in real time, however, would probably get anyone freaking the hell out.
@@CouchSpud91 Responding to spoken lines isn't all that bad either, seeing as she does have a mic set up. But in *real time*? Horrific. At least I can stand the thought of it just being a game mechanic...
“Hand of Hate” would make a kickass band name
As someone who usually HAS to have background noise to work, and having recently really gotten into things like EverymanHYBRID, Marble Hornets and whatnot.
Yes Nick, people absolutely have you on in the background, because I have you on, so when something interesting happens, I can go back and watch and then go back to what I'm doing.
So i just noticed that the scream from when Lara was playing the game was the same sound effect that Plum had when she screamed to alert Lara and Mark where they were right before she died.
Nick’s out here making quarantine a little better with each upload
I just want to add to the discussion on the “I can see you too” video, it’s *through* Simon’s screen(s), not from a webcam or the phone’s camera. It is behind the screen watching him.
I think it's his computer screen overlayed over the webcam footage which isn't beyond the realm of a virus
Damn that Lara girl is one phenomenal actress!
"Very much a voice channel" If I spoke in liquid gold, I would be a voice channel too!! Love ur stuff, NM! Thanx for helping me kill...
time during quarantine 😏😏
hey night mind!
So i found it really interesting how the real lara was locked in her room while sophie and plum were about to investigate. i am kinda new to your channel and just today i watched your original iamsophie video and watched all of her videos. i got super excited too because i have an excuse to not do schoolwork 😅 i think that your voice also fits these videos perfectly! the first video i watched was the one where you were a cat explaining dont hug me im scared and i commented on the video. i know that the video was from over three years ago but i still find the topic very interesting. anyway i hope you are doing well in quarantine/lockdown and i hope to see more about all the things you look into :)
😁
Your next video should be NM's Jack Torrance ARG. That will literally blow your mind. That was my first NM video and I'm stuck here ever since. And I do listen to his videos to fall asleep to.
@@ekenyon51416 Him and Jimmy Snow is my 'surviving having the virus' playlist.
kkkkkk que comentário fofinho
This comment is adorable, we need more wholesomeness like this.
The number 6 popped up a lot, 6 people watching Laura, 6 people escapes from that monster, 6 replies to the post on Instagram.
I noticed that too but... When it says that plum is drowned in the pool it switches to 7 viewers currently watching...
@@L3lpop that's interesting, it suggests that the first six are also dead?
@@BazSouthern 666 = number of the devil
also isn't six a prominent number in the scylla story or am I misrememberng?

I just realized the guy who was chatting with flamingos was also the friend in oxford Lara used to visit.
Also, it’s funny to me how women who play video games (and there are nearly as many of us as men) are called “gamer girls” but guys who play video games are not called “gamer boys”.
It’s a phonetic thing I think. The gg sound. Gamer girl, gamer guy.
"gamer boys", I'll be borrowing that
This Is kindla out of nowhere isnt it?
my guess is because when the term was made (gamer) it wasn't as common for girls to play games, just a complete guess though
"This girl's awesome, she's a *Gamer* girl!"
man lara really called out all of the skyrim community huh
i wasn’t expecting it all bro like i’m literally wearing a skyrim shirt rn
iamsophie has been one of my favourite series in recent memory.
Dang, leon lush was straight played. Thats basically the same email he recieved
When Lara was playing the game I was like "Ma'am, do you need a hug?!" because her expressions damn.
This webseries is so well acted. I can't stop feeling amazed. Also, thanks for the update!
“Hm, an update! I’ll just check this out before bed...”
“Okay... now to watch an hour of comedies so that I can get to sleep and not have nightmares!”
Simon decorated his room in flamingo's because 'they protect you in the eye of a hurricane' or something along those lines, isn't that similar to a line from Sophie's first video?? although we believe he didn't know about sophie before the video. I think he did know before because of that line.
"Raycon sent me a pair of their E25 earbuds"
*ominous music in backgroud*
I cracked up on the reaction video when the audio cut out right after she said Fortnite
It was like the guy recording the screen was like "Nope, don't say that, cursed word"
I was just watching loey lane talking about this and I'm happy you decided to upload this
I actually really like Lara's smokey eye look... 😍
Yeah, I’m dropping everything for this! So excited
Can we just acknowledge how great Lara is? Aside from being gorgeous, she's a REALLY great actress. She gives me major Emilia Clarke vibes.
She actually really reminds me of Aisling Bea
I'd donate to Sophie's patreon, but I don't really think she'd need that. Maybe Lara could use it, bless her.
Raycon is the raid: shadow legends of the wireless headphone world
The only difference is that it’s an actually quality product
@@casperwashere shots fired
Something else to point out is “possessed Laura” cut her shirt exactly like Sophie did in the video where Sophie is abducted.
why is Simon literally just me, "im smashing it," while drinking, complaining about flamingoes.
Fun detail I spotted! At 25:18 the title screen has the numbers 19, 20, 15 and 16 which can be put through the A1Z26 cypher to get STOP
Doesn't add anything really, but I thought it was interesting!
Did you pick up the mirror image binary too?
@@Sprinkles-r5y I don't think I did actually, was that around the same time?
No I’d have to rewatch this vid to get a time stamp. It was mirror image of a laptop screen I think
Mini theory: Mark made the game based on Sofie, who he hated from school giving birth to the hand of hate. From him it spread like a virus until even he was overcome by his own monster.
Father has blessed us once again! I've been looking forward to this!!!
“This is my dad” [shows photos of sinners being burned at the stake]
I’m actually dead from that 😭😭😭
First time I was able to find a video of yours this early in its lifetime. You're one of my favourite TH-camrs mainly because you keep quality first, without the need of worrying about the quantity, because... well, you've already got enough quantity when you need it.
Thank you! ::D
One thing that strikes me with this series is the extremely good acting. Seeing Lara gradually getting terrified really got me.
Thanks a ton NM for covering up this awesome saga.
Thank you, Nick. I'm loving this story too. I knew from your first analysis that we had something cool, but this far exceeds my expectations. Wow. And the way you compile it, even with references to Greek mythology; you are a special kind of artist. Keep up the awesome work, and like I said, come pay day, I will set up a Patreon and put you on the payroll. You earn it, and you respond to people on Twitter, which I respect.
Thank you so very much!
When your name is Sophie and your finally glad they're tormenting someone else for a little bit :)
your last video on this traumatized me and I'm just getting over it ahhhh

Just watched your first video on this particular project yesterday. What a wonderful time for an update.
Night Mind: Uploads about I am Sophie
Me, grabbing popcorn: HERE WE GO BOYS
ngl Lara's talk during the makeup tutorial was so relatable that I had to go look in a mirror to make sure I haven't actually been her the whole time. Introverted, social anxiety, basically lives in her room...
is your youtube name a reference to dj yellow from rhythm heaven?
A new hour long night mind video has me so hyped! Time to drop everything to and watch
Yus!
More of Nick's voice while I make a loom!
You’re making a loom? That’s dope fam!
OH YES
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Probably reaching here, but it's interesting that Scylla has 6 heads, and 6 sailors died to her and that Lara had 6 views for her first video and 6 people watching her stream; idk probably just a reocurring arc number but still maybe something to keep an eye on
i want to like this comment but i cant because its got six likes right now

I wonder where Nick lives because he always talks about joining him in the dark, but he uploads at like 1pm where I live lol
Same here, it's 1.30 in the afternoon.
It’s always dark in that dimension. He’s got multiple pairs of eyes, do you think he really wants to spend $$$ on extra sunglasses?
I'm sure he did mention it once. Might've been Boston? Not too sure tbh
For this vid he uploaded 10:00 on the west coast and 1:00 on the east, so not the US

Is it just me or does Laura seem to be lipsyncing Sophie’s original dialogue in the vids?
Ohhhh Laura playing that game gave me chills. It's been a while since that's happened lol. I want to know who wouldn't just be like, "F- it? We aren't playing this anymore, time for some Sims or something."

Okay but I'm genuinely interested in that smokey eye tutorial.
I didn't even realize this video was an hour long, I'm so invested
"Flamingos are supposed to keep you safe in the eye of a hurricane"
-cuts out his eyes as Sophie is saying "when you're in the middle of a hurricane, you don't get to stop and look around and realize, 'am I being real'?"
Also, "hand of hate" - "hand of fate".
I haven't watched the whole video yet so idk if he talks about this - if so I'll just delete this comment, lol.
