    That single stage Black brings back memories! I remember painting my '85 Nissan pickup in my carport before work one morning. I used PPG Urethane gloss black. It was 90 bucks for a gallon. It came out looking exactly like this!! I could see my finger nails in the reflection from like 20 feet away! Nobody believed I painted it myself.

    That's what I'm talking about right there... Outstanding flow from the get go. I used to paint boat and jet ski trailers 5 days a week in the 80's with single stage PPG paint. Correct prep is key to a finish like this. Paint doesn't hide imperfections it magnifies them.
    Great job sir, I am a new subscriber.

      Horrible. Mask off everything. This is a classic hack job and I’m sure it starts peeling around the edges very soon. I used to work for a hack shop like this that did shitty work in a small town. I left and started my own business and within 5 years he closed his doors. Big towns can get away with hacks like this but in a small town (25k) hack shops wouldn’t survive if there is a quality shop in town. If anyone thinks this is a quality job then you deserve to get ripped off.

    I love it when the younger painters these days talk about a product, especially a single stage paint, It's terrible or sucks because it wont lay out, or itll hit the floor or you cant get the splotches to uniform, what their missing is the days of Imron, Centari, and oh yeah, the Limco 123.....haha.....if you could production paint when those was the only paints available in Single Stage, anything today is pretty much easy.....I've shot several non metallic jobs with this paint and its definitely worth the money. You did a great job on the Monte......

      Thanks ! Yea I'd like to say us 90's babies are the bridge gap between old school and new school. We were still spraying single stage when I went to school in 2011 in high school tech trades program. Solid colors single stage imo saves money and time . Most single stage paints it's 2 coats and done . Base clear in 2021 it's 2-5 coats of base and 2-3 coats of clear . That's like 4-8 times walking around a car , anoying 😂

    Beautiful! I have an old 4-eyed Mustang GT I'll be painting at some point...I already bought 2 stage paint...a total re-color....1st time ever doing a whole car.
    After seeing this, I should've went original black.
    But where I live, black Mustangs are like a-holes....everybody's got one.

    Nice! I bet it's easier than the acrylic enamel metallic red single stage I did last year. I must of resprayed it 3 times until I was content, and even then, I can't really buff out the specs/trash without consequences. Single stage-Solid Color Only from now on (for me). The right project comes along, I will give this a try!
    This would be great for someone's old daily driver, or a car flip.

    You are 100 % right about single stage being tricky. I spray commercial truck bodies daily. Go through probably about 8 gallons of paint a day. Its all about watching your paint go on. Because even different colors will seem to spray different. No matter if its through a gravity feed gun, pea shooter/PP, pro-mix e stat. Dont matter watch the paint and adjust accordingly. Good video.

      Doesn't matter no mettalic in it so it will lay and look the exact same . Sometimes mettalic paints if you use two different batches it might look different

      I'm doing my girlfriend's Honda in the Nardo grey but I have a really clean 96 jeep grand Cherokee limited that's just gloss black no metallics I'm thinking about redoing the hood and roof since they're really oxidized think jet black will match? I patched the rocker and used gloss black spray paint and it matched really well.

    Do you know the percentage of gloss in this paint? Ive been using rustoleum gloss oil for a while and its around 80% gloss, it buffs out pretty good but its not mirror like. This paint looks a lot more glossy.

    • @speedokoterefinishnetwork4937
      @speedokoterefinishnetwork4937  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really sure what you mean by % of gloss in paint ? But this paint doesn't require any buffing for a top quality shine

    • @socksonfeet8125
      @socksonfeet8125 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 i can explain. When any kind of glossy paint is made, they pre mix the color with the clear gloss. For example clear gloss is 100% gloss. There is a range depending on the brand. Some brands use 70% gloss while some use 90% etc... The higher the percentage of gloss the more reflective it is. For example 20% gloss will leave you with an almoat matte- satin look. Its just a sliding scale.

    What I note is some crappy background music. Background music can be OK but it is not what I am here for, especially not when this crap is twice as loud as your conversation, which I do want to hear. I am forever lowering and raising volume. Please get rid of that rubbish. I am happy to listen to the sound of your spraygun without the music. If music was important for your subscribers, then there are many far better channels of music on youtube.
