Also a lot of us want accuracy, convenience, and to play with a PlayStation controller (with no headache to get it to work) and $5 for ps1 titles is a great price especially when you can carry them on the go with your PlayStation vita, you can even transfer your memory card saves back and forth between systems, I have an mcable hooked up to my ps3 and I think that makes ps1 games look great on an hdtv

@@leary4701 yeah, I use redream, pcsx2, mednafen, mame, and dolphin on pc using LaunchBox, but retro games I use my modded WiiU because you can hook the nes/snes (the ones that came with the mini consoles since they can connect to a Wii-mote) and use adaptors from Raphnet to use n64, etc. I prefer using the real (or closet to real) controllers when playing retro

Your camera is only shooting in standard def, so it gets stretched up to 1080P for my video. A iPhone 4 or better would provide much better picture quality.

I should be grabbing up those rare replays! Almost everywhere I go I see them but always pass them up. And that one girl , omg she has a sailor moon game collection going on, so sad they never released the moon princess over here. Wasn't it a popular anime? Lol
I remember I couldn't find rare replay anywhere so I kept searching local and out of town stores and I only found one for $15.
I bought it used a few months ago at my local video game retailer for $15, to hold me over from buying all the N64 versions. My nephew and I had an absolute BLAST playing the arcade Battletoads game. If this game shoots up in value now, easily worth at least $60 bucks.

I've been selling off parts of my collection recently, but, currently, I'd say (off the top of my head) Toxic Crusader signed by Lloyd Kauffman, Afrika for PS3 (uncommon, but not that expensive, yet) and maybe Data East Arcade Classics for Wii? I know I have more than that (ie. Conker's Bad Fur Day for N64, Mega Man X3, etc.) but that's all I can think of. Most of my more rare games are gone, now, to other collectors via conventions.
You should had shown those. IMO, homebrews and repros don't count. If you pay enough the guys responsible for them, I'm sure they could "re-issue" them anytime. Repro is just a euphemism for pirate, even if it's an unreleased game.

Many people seem to think that "expensive" and "rare" are the same thing...which they are not.
Man is right. This tends to be how people like referring to gamecube games which are valuable because they're awesome not due to rarity.
Yeah, and games like Earthbound. It´s not rare, you can get it right now if you want. Rare game is something that´s hard to find and isn´t available for everyone.
Well for me it kind of falls under 2 catagories when it comes to games. Games that are rare and games that are valuable and the dividing factor between the two is often demand rather than supply... for example...
In the UK Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness costs about £60 this isn't due to it's rarity but because it's an awesome game whereas a DS game like... Snowboard Kids SBK is very, very hard to find but nowhere near valuable because it's complete shite (I feel bad for it because the N64 games were awesome).

Also got a bunch of other stupidly rare stuff like Limited PAL box sets of Majora's Mask and Zelda Oracle, an italian complete copy of Whirlo for SNES in excellent conditions, italian copies of Hand of Fate( Kyrandia 2), Space Quest V and King's Quest V for PC, mint boxed copies of Doom and Wolfenstein 3D signed by John Romero, italian copy of Metal Gear Twin Snakes for gamecube and sealed limited of MGS4 both signed by Kojima and Yogi Shinkawa, PAL Mega Man the Wily Wars for Mega drive, etc, etc.

I don't have any especially rare games, despite being a collector. I more collect the things I like to play. Growing up, I had 3 copies of Conker's Bad Fur Day (all loose) so I didn't realize that it wasn't a well known game until the internet told me so, haha.
Jesus!! That clay fighter game is super rare! Going on Ebay CIB for 5grand almost.. the booklet alone is worth 1200 lol. Blockbuster exclusive of course.

I acquired that tron bonne game twice in my lifetime for around 5-10 dollars, and sold it on eBay for reasonable price (around 40-50) when people were asking 150-170 dollars. both times the buyers thank me for the sale. I'm just glad that's in on the psn store to play.

Panzer Dragoon Saga, Magic Knight Rayearth, Burning Rangers. I know that's such a boring answer. Complete Limited Run as of 4/14/17 for good measure.
Sometimes I regret not buying Panzer Dragoon Saga when I had the chance. It was either that or Shining Force 3. I chose Shining Force 3. Mind you this was when they were in stores still.

I live and work in Kuwait and about 3 years ago a shipping container was found full of un-opened and boxed games and consoles for the SNES. Ive pretty much bought as much of the boxed games as i can find. I have Knights of the Round complete in box, King of Dragons, complete in box and a bunch of others as well. Also a mint in box SNES. I got as much as i could find before the Kuwaitis with the deep pockets bought up the rest.

I don't think I have anything crazy rare or expensive but off the top of my head, my top 3 are:
1. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC)
2. Chrono Trigger (SNES) cart only
3. Pier Solar and the Great Architects (Gen)
At least you have Chrono Trigger! I don't have that one, or Pier Solar for Genesis.
I'm just glad I had the foresight to buy Chrono Trigger back when it was only $50 for a loose copy.

I have Chrono Trigger on the PS1. The Snes version cost nearly $100, and that is without the cover art case and manual.

3. Panzer Dragoon Saga (PAL) CIB / Megaman V GB (PAL) CIB / Harmful Park PS1 (NTSC-J) CIB

Personally I'm going for a complete capcom fighters collection. I'm missing almost all of the NTSC-J versions at the moment but it's my main goal
My current rarest, in no particular order, would be:
1. Time Stalkers (Dreamcast) - £55-£70, and rarely for sale anywhere.
2. Sonic Battle (Unboxed, GBA) - Extremely rare in the UK; what few listings there are, are always from Germany or America. Unboxed can be as low as £30, or as high as £60.
3. Fallout Anthology (PC) - £400 approx. Not an individual game, but a bundle of Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, 3 & New Vegas, housed in a huge Mini Nuke case. Mine's complete with its original box and definitely the most valuable part of my collection.

I was lucky enough to buy Panzer Dragoon Saga on release day. 80 flippin' bucks was a lot of ducats for me at that time. I'll never let it go. Excellent game. I would actually consider that one of my rarest games.

Rarest game I've found in the wild was Wacky Races for the NES. Unfortunately, I need money more than rare games, so I sell all of the rare games I find.
But top 3 I've found)
1) Dragonball GT for the PS1 (first print)
2) Wacky Races for the NES
3) Revenge of Shinobi version 1.0 (has copywritten characters, so for legal reasons they had to reprint the carts with them excluded from the game, some of them include Rambo, batman, spiderman, the terminator, and godzilla is a boss =))

Good question. It seems like an obvious one but rare can mean different things to different people. My 3 rarest games are Rule of rose for ps2 (pal) , Kuon for ps2 (pal) and Deep fear for sega saturn (pal) Good video MJ

People calling games like Legend of Zelda rare just have no clue. LoZ is SOUGHT AFTER, something different entirely.
There are extremely rare games nobody actually really cares about and expensive, sought after games that aren't really uncommon.
Price tag rarely lies when you talk about rarity. Expensive games can be for multiple different reasons:
- not a lot was produced
- it was produced decently, but everybody wants it/nobody wants to sell it.
- Its quality also has a statement to how rare it is: CIB or game only, unopened or not, still looking good or not.

Bubble Bath Babes, which is the Uncensored version of Mermaids of Atlantis for NES, goes for either $500 or $1,000.
A recent copy of Stadium Events sold for $42,000, open.
Personally, I think my rarest games are Clay Fighter Sculptor's Cut on the N64, and Night Trap from Limited Run Games for the PS4.

I did however have a Japanese imported copy of Pokemon Gold 6-7 months before the American & European releases. I was the coolest kid at school for that period of time, haha!

I don't think Kuon is rare. I got it 2 years ago on Amazon for $30.
Just because something isn't expensive doesn't mean it isn't rare. Kuon is not a game you will be finding at local stores or anything like that and it sold pretty poorly.
tr1bes well you're lucky if youre not lying cause that game currently goes for about 150 cib. 200 sealed.
After watching this I realized that I too consider my rarest games based on their value rather than the difficulty of finding a copy, but they would have to be Pokemon Box for GameCube, Earthbound for SNES and Ducktales 2 for NES.
Most challenging game to find in my collection? Probably Epic Mickey 2 for the PS Vita. I had a ridiculously hard time finding that one, especially because I wanted an english copy complete in the box.

Fine Trades Gaming Yeah DBZ Budokai Tenkachi 3 for both PS2 and Wii are still $50. It never got lower.
For PS2 its even gone up in less then a year to $70 will reach $100 price by 2018 n get even more rare
Fine Trades Gaming I still see certain game store sell the Wii version for $45, and the PS2 version for $50-60. Lucky I bought the Wii version for $30 back in 2012.
I got my PS2 version for $10
conkers for n64 isnt rare at all, its just so iconic that the price for it is a bit steep. Even CIB sealed isnt too hard to find.

Used to have Star Fox Super Weekend. Picked it up for $3.50, sold it 5 years ago for $500. I'd say that I came up. Also I have the complete box, manual, and stickers for Rayearth, but no game disc. That's a pricey one for sure!

My 3 Rarest games arent't very impressive:
- Super Copa for the SNES
- Castlevania Symphony of the Night for the PS1
- Chrono Trigger for the SNES
I also have a Golden SNES controller, but that doesn't really count.
It's one of my favorite games! About 4 years ago I got my PS1 complete in box for about 20 american dollars and SOTN came with it! Complete in box as well! Luckiest find of my life I think.
Man I regret loosing SOTN for the PSX during a move to this day :( Fortunately I have the PSP and Saturn versions, but the PSX was the one I grew up with.
I love me some SOTN, but that ain't rare unless it's a sealed, first printing or something. You can snag a complete in box version on ebay for 60
Castlevania Symphony of the Night for PAL is quite rare in my opinion. The NTSC version not so much. Cheers on Chrono Trigger ;) Love that game so much.
