Nice one Jay, I'm looking forward to hearing how it sounds when you’ve got the 2 mics hooked up. Being able to mix between engine, exhaust and voice will be great.
Im still using the Action 3 and its working fine still i will be taking a look at the 5 though for sure. I think im weird long as i got the gear on i quite enjoy riding in the rain lol
I think as regards the 3, 4 and 5 prob not much difference in quality but the features are improving all the time. I only went to the 4 from the 3 was the wireless mic option. But the 5 has so many usable significant features. Yes something good about riding in the rain. Cheers buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for showing us the extra features of the 5 Jay. Looks like it might be a worthy upgrade. DJI have always had great batteries. These new ones look to be awesome.
I waited until it came out and I saw the spec for the 5 Pro before buying another Action 4 two weeks ago. I decided that for me, I didn't need the internal memory as I use decent size sdcards. The two mic recording is good, but I can just pair one to one of my 4's and the other mic to my other action 4. For me, it didn't warrant the difference in price from the 4. I think the adv combo is £409? Bigger batteries is always welcome, and looks a good camera. Think the Ace Pro 2 is out very soon too.
Yeah i waited too and had the same thought about the wireless mics buddy. Only thing i thought with the 2 camera audio thing is you only have to be off slightly with the sync. What i didn’t mention was the back screen is bigger and the low light capability function is brilliant. And the fact the bats work from the other cameras. I only bought the camera £289 as already got the charging pod. Cheers tojj 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE Jay, where did you find it for £289, I can only find it for £329. Also, have you noticed any problems with what a lot of people are moaning about with the low bitrate? I only ask, as the Action 4 I had delivered last week has had to go back with a problem. May replace it with the 5. I see DJI say they will upgrade the bitrate with the next firmware update.
Hi mate apologies it was £329 amazon i was thinking of the 4 🥱 cant say looked into the bitrate to much but on the 4s ive had some pretty good footage off it 👍🏻👍🏻
The new DJI looks awesome. I love the idea of 4 hours battery life, and you say that’s at 4K as well. Also the batteries are interchangeable. Thats a win all around.
For me the Dynamic range and tracking was the hook for changing from a GP9....I'm gld you like it..I'm still finding my way around mine...What DB level are you set at there?
Nice feature to wirelessly connect the mics, something that on the 3 you'd have struggled with in the rain as you need to attach the receiver that makes the whole rig no longer water resistant. I use a 3 and the wireless mics independently, but sync them in post. It's not so bad to sync in post as you have the camera audio as a guide.
Yes i have done the same in the past used the mics as independent recorders. To be honest the adapter you can buy is ok too for a lav mic but like you say still wont make the camera water proof 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE "still wont make the camera water proof" - and that right there is my big bugbear with all three of the main players in the action cam space. They know by now that motorcyclists are a major market segment, and that we want/need that external audio input. They could fairly easily put a light duty weather seal internally around the port, and with a tiny bit of forethought make those mic adapters with integrated o-rings (same as the normal doors) to weather seal them. Closest any of them have come is GP do a USB-passthrough door compatible with (I think) the 9 onwards...but best I can tell, it'll *only* work for power passthrough with the cable it comes with.
@nowillnoway its fully water proof the mics are wireless buddy so all doors are closed. The camera is 100% not letting any water in. Agreed if you have the mic adapter plugged in with a lave mic. 👍🏻👍🏻
I thought about the action 5 but went for a new 360 camera instead, image track and 2 mic's access great if you have pillion or want separate engine note audio
Yes for once it had some features that would be valuable to me. Ive just sold my new x4 cant be bothered with the post editing but a great camera. Cheers buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
That looks the dogs boll*x, looks so impressive. That’s exactly what I was hoping from DJI, I feel the 4 didn’t cut it but this seems a game changer. ❤
Nice real world review! The colour on the end was a little saturated, were you recording in the HDR mode (or whatever DJI call it lol). I just bought mine, the wireless mic with no need for a TX and better night mode coupled with the smaller lighter footprint were my deciders.
Yes when i colour graded in post it didnt look as bad as the play back i have since noticed the 5 colours are slightly different from the 4s. Ive since been testing the two mics for the camera thats going to take a bit of figuring out so it doesn’t clip which it has done on test one. Cheers for feedback buddy 👍🏻👍🏻 ps just subbed to you
Thanks for the info, I needed to buy another DJI to compliment my action 4, might aswell get the action 5 now. Quick question about music, do you just use your own library of music or do you need special copyrights ones? As I just use what’s on filmora and it’s ltd, I’ve obviously got loads of music on my laptop but not sure I can use it all. Cheers Malc
Has to be copyright free mate I use upbeat or epidemic sound however there is a monthly fee. Upbeat is the cheapest though and has a big library of music and sound effects. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE Seriously? I dove into their web site, and not once did I find a mention of multiple camera control. They're missing out by not advertising that!
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE OK, I found a forum post that says that it does... but only for starting and stopping recording. I need the power on/off function, too - which royally pissed me off that GoPro never fixed this with the Hero 12... otherwise I burn through too many batteries. Ugh.
Looks awesome mate, def considering an upgrade 👍🏻
Yes they are good additions pal to the upgrade 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video mate. There is nothing Ive seen on the 5 so far that would make me want to upgrade from the 4, however, never say never lol.
Just the things ive seen mate have made it worth it. Cheers graham 👍🏻👍🏻

Sorry mate, another question. If you use your DJi WiFi mic2, do you use noise reduction and what gain do you have it set on? @@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE
@wheeliemalc no worries mate. I used to but i dont now i use a dji lav mic plugged into the wireless mic 2. Gain -18 the maximum 👍🏻👍🏻
Footage from it looks darn good! Too bad DJI doesn't have a remote that handles multiple cameras simultaneously... I'd consider dumping my GoPros.
