To the cam driver: GOOD ON YOU for NOT allowing the individual to get away with it, Sir!!!! I'm REALLY pleased that you weren't hurt!!!!!!!!! Julie Gill, Glasgow, Scotland.
This incident happened along Buckley Road in Denver, Colorado, USA. I know that area. In Colorado, if someone makes a move on you, you have the right to fight back.
@@mcguireshepherd sure we have the "right" to fight back... but how many times have individuals gotten hemmed up for fighting back when it SHOULD be justified but instead they get in trouble. Think about that father in Cali who had the armed robbers run up on his house while he was holding coffee in one hand for his family attempting to go inside. The state took away HIS gun and aired that all over the news so guess what - if those criminals who got away saw it, they now know he doesn't have a gun. That doesn't sound smart
Oftentimes, the type of people in this godforsaken state that cause these types of crashes are assholes who modify their cars _The Fast And The Furious_ style. I know this because a young woman in Lakewood, Jefferson County, Colorado was killed by a reckless driver in the dead of night while she was waiting at the bus stop. She was killed on impact. That stop was turned into a memorial.
So, knocking out the power to businesses and homes was worth it? Innocent victims of double road rage? Dude, after you told the offender, you had their plate and car info... that's all you needed. But no, you're a hero that stopped a criminal... and boomer from Glasgow... start playing chess and think more than one move ahead... you don't know if dude has a pew pew.
Firefighter here, Believe it or not he’s actually really lucky. That’s actually very dangerous, If you ever hit a power box or power lines you need to stay in your car and now touch anything. The ground could have been electricitied and had it been he would have died before anyone could have helped him.
That was a three phase transformer. If he had timed getting out wrong, he would have been electrocuted (the power turns back on 3 or more times after a fault to see if it is permanent). And by electrocuted, I don't mean the cute 120 volts at 5 amps with a gcfi that you might get at your house, it would be between 7200 and 34000 volts and 30 to 100 amps. The difference between those two is powering a really small microwave and powering 30-100 homes.
3 phase does not indicate automatic fault restoration, that equipment is called a recloser and does not exist inside a standard distribution transformer. This type of damage almost certainly blew both bayonet and the upline fuse. It is not going to reenergize 3 times to try to "clear the fault". The transformer was knocked completely off the pad
wtf are you talking about 120 volts at 5 amps with a GFCI? A standard GFCI intended for protection of personnel is going trip under 6 miliamps. Also, the voltage doesn’t determine the current draw, it’s the load that determines the current draw. Resistance doesn’t change, everything else does. You should have just said getting hit by the primary would kill you faster than a shock from an outlet at your house. 3 phase had nothing to do with it other than that’s the system we use to power our grid. 120 volts is also present on 3 phase systems.
@@LiterallyShane apples and oranges, a taser operates at high voltage because it has to overcome absurdly high resistance, that being the air. It'll apply a constant current, generally up to .2mA at most. 100mA across the body is the minimum current considered fatal to humans; significantly more than a taser produces.. However, 12KV primary electricity (like what is powering this transformer) is infinitely more dangerous than a taser because the current is variable and is significantly higher than a taser, we're talking hundreds of AMPS, not mA. Thousands of times more powerful and it can arc several feet away, not inches like a taser. Its not designed to be interacted with like a taser. If you even get near primary electricity without the appropriate PPE and grounding you're likely a goner. Even if the operational voltage is higher in a taser, implying it is more dangerous because of the voltage is like saying a large airgun is more deadly than a sawed off shotgun because its bigger. Both can be fatal, one isn't designed to kill, the other will blow a person in half. They are not the same.
As a former logistics driver i saw this often on the road. One of the ones that I remember vividly, motorcycle driver was in the carpool lane. A car cut in front of me. The motorcyclist was in front of that driver. The next lane was bumper to bumper. The car in front of us kept honking so that the motorcyclist would go faster. We were already going 67mph. the car kept tailgating the motorcyclist by like inche, finally tapping the motorcycle and seeing the guy roll off and pieces of the motorcycle went flying into the air. The car infront of my coworker and I flipped off the motorcyclist and speeded off. By luck the motorcyclist was standing up bad badly limping. I came to a full stop and turned my hazard light on. Up ahead cars were blocking the driver but he was bumping into their cars. Chp arrived in a minute. Caused a giant traffic stop. Turns out about a mile back the motorcyclist cut the driver off and the guy didn't like that so he caught up to him on the carpool lane. I gave a testimony but didn't have to show up to court as the guy pleaded guilty.
I saw the CO plates and started replaying the video to get street names. Just put Buckley and Pagosa into Google Maps to see where it started. Southbound Buckley at Pagosa St. Then (based on the McDonald's) they turned onto Illiff. I saw Idalia at the end and that's about where the Walgreens with the power box is.
I was just coming to say the same thing. I live just south of Iliff. They passed my neighborhood in the video. I wonder when this happened and if I was in the power outage? 😅

I've been rear-ended 4times in my adult life and I'm always afraid the other driver will take off. One driver waited 4 days to call his insurance to report what he did.
I was backed into by a woman in a subway drive through not too long ago. She acted like she "sent" her insurance information by text, but of course she was lying. My phone was dead as luck would have it, so I wasn't able to verify if she'd actually sent the information. Lesson learned.
The POV driver already had the other person's plate, and video footage. There was no reason to keep pursuing, especially after that person has shown reckless disregard.
I remembered when I got rear ended back in March by a driver who had a suspended license. Even though he was sorry for what he did, I still suffered a slight whiplash to my right arm. To be fair he wasn't paying attention and hit me pretty hard. I'm glad he didn't run away like this guy in the Volvo but I should have invested in a dash camera. My car was deemed a total by my insurance company when my frame was severely damaged.

Why the hell do people stop so far back at red lights? That should be illegal.
Thanks for the info 🫶🏻
A taser is 50,000 volts
Love it! Probably a stolen or 'borrowed' car, too.
I love it how the cammer delivered that closing statement. Not with anger and rage, just exasperation and sigh.

Always call the police to mediate and file a report.
