We al met up Sunday at yonderman was talking about not going here at Grindleford for a long time. We used to meet up here every Sunday then head off for a ride.
Nice ride out. Always good to blow the cobwebs👍
Thanks buddy always appreciate your view and comments 👍🏻👍🏻
Mega vid Jay, good banter between you and Peaky, love it. The twisty road between Ashford in the water and Baslow is called 13 bends by us locals, but I think you turned off left for Hassop just before it got good. Keep the vids coming, always a pleasure to watch.
Ah Thank-you buddy very much appreciate your comment. And thanks for the naming of the road details. 👍🏻👍🏻
We had this conversation Sunday about Monyash and the Cowshed, both good breakfasts but the cowshed edges it for me...If theres a few of you it can get a bit of a squeeze at monyash in that little room, where the cowshed can accomadate us big lads with a bay window 😆🤣😉
Yes the environment is better at cowshed but monyash is a nice little quaint place. Cheers for comment buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome vlog on some awesome roads with some great banter guys 😂👍
Thanks buddy appreciate the comments cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice vid Jay, good to see ya both having a giggle 👍
Thanks buddy was a great day 👍🏻👍🏻
We got great roads minutes away, can't comment on the breakfast, only had brekkie at cowshed and yondermans in the past, strines is looking a lot better road surface. Nice brekkie vlog, take care, stay safe 🏍 👍👌
Thanks buddy you will have to come over to monyash with us mate its a great brekkie. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE definitely 👍
Jay n Peaky try Two Flags Cafe it's Rutland water area, great roads and I'd say 9/10 breakfast free refills on drinks too 😂
We will have alook into that
Mate deffo will i know rutland water cheers pal 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice work.
Thanks buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice video mate.
Cheers Graham 👍🏻👍🏻
Great sorry breakfast video 😂😂😂
Haha was a great rideout and catchup brother 👍🏻👍🏻
@ always is bro 👊🏻
@thepeakybiker oh yes 🫡
Back in the day Jay 😂 don't know why but it seemed better then 👍
What my edits or the weekend? 🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻 i know what you mean. This is an old one
check ya emails dude
It had gone into spam I’ve replied buddy. You can also message on insta 👍🏻👍🏻
I don't stop riding, I just change the riding I do.... but its still Autumn, so folk should all still be riding, get so many lovely days this time of year, even the fair weather riders can still get some awesome spins in before winter starts in December. Once it does start getting icey out you do need to be mega cautious, like you were saying about the wet leaves, gotta be so careful.
Yes absolutely buddy. I think in this country you have to ride all the time so yo can make up for the days you can’t. Thanks mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Give it a good clean up and then a good coat of XCP rust blocker on it then carry on riding through winter the only time i dont is if it snows
Nice one buddy i use ACF 50 never heard of XCP 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE reviews say its better than ACF but who knows lol it works thats all that matters i use the clear coat version
May have to try that cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
It might have a crappy ribbon of tarmac, but the road over Strines is a great ride. Have they cleaned the outside area of the station cafe yet??? 😀😀
Yes i do the strines all the time it’s actually been resurfaced. I presume when you say station cafe you mean Grindleford? If so no its still has all the building materials there 👍🏻👍🏻
@ nope, I meant that the whole seating area outside usually looks as though it’s nor been cleaned for weeks 😀
@@andyhewitt7588 ah right yes don’t think is ever cleaned 👍🏻👍🏻
Now try that route in the dark, before the barriers were installed, in heavy snow, in an old Landrover. We were coming over the pass in the opposite direction. Didn't quite make the top and had to try and turn round and head back to Dinas then detour through Dolgellau and back to Bala. We were late!
@@juliandone15 holy shit bet that was scary for you buddy. Obviously you did make it down in one piece. In the dark as well as snow wow. 👍🏻👍🏻
@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE .... I did have a video but its on a dead laptop. Serious arse twitching moment as the Landy was sliding towards the drop but we (No1 Son and I) managed to turn it around in a small lay by near the top
Thankgod you did them drops were insane
Nice one mate, we would have come if we'd have known 😊
@@2wheelbikers311 yes thought about you to be honest. I was gonna go then wasn’t but ended up there. Will give you a shout if I go down again 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Jay, I have a couple of bikes (lucky me) a 30yr old gsxr1100 which only comes out on very good days and a gs1250 which gets ridden a lot. 😊
@@paulgates2527 hey mate lucky you indeed i used too and is certainly better to. Cheers for comment buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video as usual mukka 🎉

Hey Jay, great video mate 👍🏻 All year round if weather is ok, my bike if just for fun so if the day is good and I've the time I'll go out 🫡 Q&A be good mate, have to think of a good question though 🤔
@@Lee-gsx cheers buddy and yes look forward to your question 👍🏻👍🏻
Stay on the bike over winter. Pick my days out carefully. Lots of bike washing. I don't have corrosion (the bike) to any great degree.
Nice one mate yes all good as long as you stay on stop of the cleaning 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE It's 22 years old and missing paint here and there. No rust, strangely
Some nice scenery. What's the rule with the painted box and bicycle at traffic lights? They didn't have those when I lived in the UK. When I come back, I need to brush up on those kinds of things.
Hey buddy they are for bikes to sit ahead of the line of traffic at the lights so can sit at the front of the que. 👍🏻👍🏻
Last year my bike was on the road every month, had some very cold runs over snake pass!! Once the salt is down on the road the bike gets a cold rinse off with power wash after every ride. Also the Strines surface is so much better since the dressing now was well overdue on that bit of road.
Yes strines is deffo so much better prob is they close woodhead and snake for the snow but they will leave strines open. 👍🏻👍🏻
As long as the salts not down I’m ready to ride. Recently added heated grips and DSLR’s. ACF50 has been applied. Good to go mate 👍🏻. There’s enough quality apparel out there to keep the rider warm and dry. No excuse.
I think thats it mate preparation for the bike and yourself and its all good to go. I do think though a-lot of people don’t have the confidence but wont try it to see it’s really not that bad. Cheers buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
Usually try ride mine all year around, not so much as i used to with current job. bike lives outside ashamed to say i havent even washed my Africa Twin yet since getting it, was great to meet up with you thanks again for the bacan butty, it was magical how that menu landed infront of you 🤣 drop me a message to any ride outs if im free im there :)
Haha nice one pal yes menus seem to do that just fall in front of me. I suppose when your job restricts riding you just get out where you can. Will deffo arrange another ride soon buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
I used to just take my sports bikes out on the odd day during winter, since riding Adv sports bikes I ride more days over winter, not snow or ice but other days, preferably dry days, but it never really dries in winter does it.
I think mate if we didn’t ride in winter or bad weather in the UK we wouldn’t have many riding days 😃 cheers for watch and comment buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, I’ve put the Street Triple to bed, taken off the battery, the NC750X I will ride every now and then to keep the battery ok, but …the leaves today were tricky 😮
Hi Colin, i think out of all the things wet leaves and ice bother me. I do try and stick to bigger roads until the leaves have dispersed. Cheers for comment buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
I want to ride all year round, but find myself tensing up in iffy condition, lack of confidence for me.
I sometimes think about the roads and tense up but just try to have faith in the tyres and the bike. Im a lot better now buddy. Hope your well cheers for comment 👍🏻👍🏻
I used to be all weather rider when I was younger but just didn’t find the wet and greasy roads much fun. I did buy a 701 to change that and keep my 1290 for the drier and occasionally warmer months lol. Got rid of the 701 but now have the 690. I need to work on my mental side of things since my off. Getting the desire and balls to get out more.
@@Robbiemoto hey buddy I like the Husky 701’s obviously i used to have the 1290 and loved that bike. I like the 690. Hope you get through your mental challenges mate It sounds like you have been through the mill a bit especially with the misdiagnosis of your pelvis? Good luck mate 👍🏻👍🏻
I have sold my bike, but going for another Honda in the spring Nc750X, Transalp or African Twin). Here where i live, the winter is coming with lot´s of snow (normally) and black ice roads...The bike is normally parked after full service in the fall, then i change oil (yes, i do change the oil after winter again) before taking off in the spring 🙂 Thx for all the uploads you do on this channel....it´s really nice to follow along from another country...a bit further up north 🙂
@@zippo1009 thanks buddy NC750x are great bikes i had the DCT. Also had an Africa twin. I do like the Transalps too. Thanks for following and your comment very much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE I think it´ll be an DCT if i decide to go for an NC...only seen videos of it yet, but seems kinda relaxing with the DCT version. It is reasonably priced compared to both the TransAlp and the AT, but then again they have more "oomph" for going down Europe fully loaded...Time should go fast in the winter, and slow as F in the summer...that would be magnificent 😊😊
Thanks buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
That CAFE 19 is a great stop
@@justride1185 i didn’t know they did breakfast thought was just cakes etc. cheers for comment buddy 👍🏻👍🏻
@@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE i passed it so many times over the years and never stopped for the reason you just said, i thought it was cakes too....cracking panini's
Hi crazy legs, I will try to ride if the weather is alright ànd not bad
@@paulclarke1233 hey buddy hope your well? Yes same here i just take each day as it comes cheers 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video J, i ride all year round, heated gear helps and just ride to the conditions. I will always try and wash the bike especially if the roads are gritted.
Mate deffo heated gear it is a game changer and goretex. I find you can still have a great ride makes it more interesting. Thanks buddy very much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
I ride all year round. When I had sports bikes I would wrap them up but I always rode a speed triple. Easier to clean without fairings. Now I’m not to precious about my old girl, she’s just not to keen on starting in the very cold (battery) but other than that, I keep her clean and protected and she’s always good to go
Nice one buddy yes even though the weather gets cold and your prepped all good. And not so busy at the cafes either 😃 thanks mate much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
All year round for me mucca, exactly same bike and colour as yours, 5 and half years old with over 100k on her, she loves it...wetter the better 😂😂😂 Snow and ice I tend to stay to the big roads just to be safe but as you said in a cold nice winter day you just can't beat it 👍🏻
Nice one buddy deffo the best colour for the GSA 😃 agree stick to main roads love your the wetter the better statement haha brill. Thanks mate for comment and view much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
I keep riding through the winter, mainly the KTM, although I still ride the S1000RR if it’s dry enough. You mentioned it already-just adjust your riding for the conditions, like slimy leaves, etc. If I can, I give the bike a quick powerwash when I get home, just to remove the crud and salt. Some questions for you: What do you think of all the automatic gearboxes that are coming out, like AMT? Could the 1390 Super Adventure S EVO tempt you back to the Orange side? Something a bit different-there are a lot of videos online comparing martial arts styles, like Karate vs. Judo. For me, it’s less about the discipline and more about the individual. What are your thoughts?
Nice one mate cheers and thanks for the great questions buddy hope you’re well? 👍🏻👍🏻.
@CRAZYLEGSONABIKE All good thanks Jay. How's your mum doing?
@motocrad all good buddy thankyou 👍🏻👍🏻
Seriously considering a set of these currently available for £169.99 at my local dealer (HD Pan America)…not sure I NEED them as I mainly ride tarmac….however the price alone is a compeller….how do you think these would fare as a predominately road riding option…how do they do in the wet and do you suffer in terms of mileage before they wear….I’ll probably do a bit of European touring on mine next summer, if this helps you to provide advice ….thanks !
@@mattgolding7557 hey buddy these are great tyres in all weather never had any issues. Another contender for me however which are equally if not better are the Pirelli rally STRs. Only thing with all these sort of tyres are they will not last as long as your dedicated road tyres. Benefits are though they do look good, perform well and give a bit more grip on the gravelly tracks. Hope this helps cheers for comment. But if you get a good deal defo worth trying them at least once 👍🏻👍🏻
I use XCP pro. But ride all year round and have 2nd jan ride out whatever the weather. You get some nice odd days in winter so keep the bike ready🤞. Just waiting Portugal date's for next year. 👍. Nice one again pal❤
Cheers buddy yes if you prep the ride well and have the right clothing its all good. Not sure about dates yet for portugal either. Take it easy Andy 👍🏻👍🏻
Only time I won’t ride is if snow is on the ground, and that’s only because I wouldn’t be able to get out of our street. The weathers don’t bother me. We ride adventure bikes. They are designed to rode in all weathers and with the gear you can get now really helps with the colder days. Plus having a heated seat 😂
Heated seat your spoilt 👍🏻👍🏻
In the past all year round until i bought the Multistrada she does not like salt 🤦 thats why i bought the 1150gs shes my winter ride weather not important but as someone else said as i get older ill be a little more picky weather wise, always used Gt85 after a wash, gs will be fine just dont wash it at all makes no difference 😂.
@@alanoswin8827 haha nice one pal yes peaky don’t wash his but does protect it. I think 2 bikes is deffo the way forward. Cheers pal 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm lucky enough to have two bikes, i have a Suzuki V-STROM 1050DE that I plan to use in all weather's this winter. It's been treated to ACF50 and she's ready for the worst! The Yamaha MT-01 is sitting out in the garage
@@tomstc best way pal i was in that situation previously but currently only have the one. Cheers for comment buddy very much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
Bike's always ready to go, so if the weather ain't too bad, we're out that door.
@@tojj29 top man buddy me too 👍🏻👍🏻
I started out riding in all weathers but as the years go by I've stopped when it starts getting uncomfortable and unenjoyable. cold + wet x age = misery, at 64 you start to feel it 😨😨😮
