Thanks Tom! This is perfect timing, my Rodecaster Pro II arrived just as you posted this! Your videos really helped us choose this, an NT1 5th gen and the trusty PSA1 to add to our budding studio for voice over recording, thankyou! Your videos are so informative and easy to watch, they really are the best ⭐️
Hi Tom, I like the 2 minutes short tutorials. I think it's a very good format, especially for beginners. Maybe you could do it on a regular basis, just restricted to 2-5 minutes. I don't know, though what the YT algorithm is making out of it.
Thank you! I’m really glad to know you liked it. I want to have a whole playlist of two minute “two-torials”. It I didn’t know if people would like them or not. I kind of figured that I could make one every once in a while. If people are willing to come along for 30 minute+ videos on old cameras or mic comparisons, maybe a super quick video that clearly shows how to do something can be a nice breather?
These are fantastic Tom! Gear operational tips/techniques can be very overwhelming. information overload is my biggest obstacle for me personally. Love “Digestible bites” of 2-5 minute specific tips are a huge help at least for people like me!
Hi Tom, great video. I love that short form videos. Could you maybe do a follow up where you setup a mic with the Rodecaster 1? Or do a comparison showing the differences?
Oh great, exactly what I needed. A friend asked about this lately and...I'll skip doing the explanation part 😂, we'll grab a cup of coffee and watch this video, do, rinse & repeat....
Hi,Buck I like your Channel and the way you explain everything on set.. Watching in Africa.. Ghana 🇬🇭.. I like to get connected to you, kindly let me know how...thank you
I also enjoy these “quickies”👀🤣. They’re informative and easy to learn stuff quick just like the last one with the floating phone screen graphic. But I also enjoy your 30 min ones and even your 1-2 hour streams. Haha.
Hello, excellent video. Could you please let me know which cable I need to get to connect the Rode NT1-A to the Rode Caster ProII. I had no cable delivered with the micro I purchased.
Hi Tom. I recently bought a rodecastor pro 2. You answered my question recent about Rode's intention of releasing firmwave for RODE USB+ mic. Thank you. I have a question. I need to do livestream and have a logitech c922 webcam. I don't suppose connecting webcam to my PC would work with RCP2..... i don't know how to use OBS and was hoping to bypasss learning this. Lol. Please please do a tutorial on using webcam with RCP2🙏🙏 (with and without OBS). If have to use OBS, do you have a tutorial on how to set up and use OBS please?
Could you please make a RCP2 video all about music production and specifically using guitars and piano keyboards for recording into a DAW or live streaming. Can't seem to find anybody talking about this. Thanks!
Hello there! Can i use this method to connect my samson q2u? Im struggling big time over here with this stuff. I didnt realize i couldnt use my mic directly to the rodecaster until now😢
Hi Tom, sure you heard the news about the wireless go update to the rcp 2. Any chance you have any idea how many wireless go's we can connect? Would it be possible to run a for man podcast all on wireless mics?
Hey bud. I have the RODECaster 1 so I know I won’t get all the same settings but approximately what “level” did you use for your Lewitt and where was the fader set? I have a Lewitt 440.
Hi Mike, once again great video. I still have Rodecaster Pro and Iam using it. I needed extra line in options, I bought RODE VXLR PLUS XLR to 3.5mm and connected to the one of the mic inputs and it worked like a charm so I have another extra input. And I bought CODA MB1 MicActivator, it has ultra clean gains, more cleaner gains than cloudlifter and is much cheaper. I returned my cloudlifter. Can you please review these two items please so others can benefit too. Thanks 😊😊😊
Hi Tom I recently picked up a Rode VideoMic Pro + and have a Rodecaster Pro 2 on order. I would like to use that microphone both on the go and as a studio mic until I can get a dedicated mic in my home studio. Can you please advise me on if I will need any specific other hardware to be able to use it on the RCP2 as well as if it will need phantom power or not as it has a built in battery.
Putting this out there in case anyone can point me in the right direction. I have the rodecaster duo and a Shure mv7. Is there any resource to find the best settings for the mv7 on the rodecaster pro 2 or rodecaster duo?
Hi tom, is it possible for you to do a video about starting a own internet radio. You have done about podcasting, it will be great if you could do about own internet radio.
I would like to point out that I did the test with two different acoustic devices. The first time both devices connected perfectly, and the second Bluetooth symbol appeared next to the outgoing monitor symbol. I turned the rhodecaster pro II off and on again, both devices were no longer displayed among the devices and I was no longer able to connect them. I repeat, the first time they worked perfectly. What could I do to solve the problem? Thank you
I’ve been waiting to see when the new stuff will be released! I don’t know when that’ll be so I was thinking of making a video about my initial thoughts in the meantime.
tom, is it a good/bad idea to interact w/competitors on social media (i.e. likes, hearts, subs) while i'm building business in their segments (e.g. youtube (you), weddings, commercial, etc.)? thx, colton
I think this is all a matter of personal preference. Personally, I wouldn't recommend interacting with others as a way to drive traffic to your stuff, but genuinely connecting and getting to know people in your space can be a really great thing.
Hey Tom, have you (or anyone else) heard whether or not the new Rode Streamer X has any record functionality? Like, can you plug an SSD drive into one of those USB C ports and record onto it?
I haven't had any issues with mine, but it's something I've heard other people talk about quite a bit. Not sure if some units are defective, or if I'm just less sensitive to noticing it 🤷🏻♂️
When you press the colored button above the mic’s channel it should take you directly to it (just be sure your mic is assigned to one of the physical faders- it’s easy to mix them up).
Hello Tom! There is a streaming program called Polypop Live. This program's main attraction is working with 3D elements. It would be possible to replicate all these effects exactly and even give a 3D touch to work on the perspectives. On my channel I show some things that are possible to accomplish with this program. Til today no youtuber gives example on the preset audio comparison. They all avoid it like this youtuber. 😂😂😂 I'm going to purchase this product and make a audio comparison / settings video. Trust me for some odd reason they all avoid it.
It’s because when I’ve used presets in the past, people get VERY upset thinking that I’m hiding the sound of the mic or changing it too much. I do use preset examples briefly in longer reviews…but you know, this was 2 minutes 😬

This guy is a “wordsmith” - wow!!!
Thank you for the quick overview. I'm picking up my Rodecaster II tomorrow!
I hope you have a ton of fun with it! Definitely take some time and poke around in all the settings to see everything it can do!
“…if you’re unshure of which røde to go down…” well done 👏🏻👏🏻😄
Thanks for the helpful quick rundown!
Keep them coming l brought the rco2 and never used it . I need a class so thank you
I'd love to make quick videos on more features/settings 👍
Thanks Tom! Enjoying my unit because of your channel 🙏🙏
Great to hear! It’s pretty crazy how much you wan do with it.
Tom, you are my model podcaster. I have learned a great deal from you.
I’m really happy to hear that, thanks Norm!
Thank you for mentioning the phase button. No one mentions it and I actually had to email Rode when I first got mine to figure out what it does.
Me too! I thought it was like “Rode Super Presets” or something 😁
Dude, the Lewitt does sound really great, btw!
It's such a cool mic! Can't wait to do the comparison with the 240.
Hi Tom, great video. I love that short form videos.
Could you maybe do a follow up where you setup a mic with the Rodecaster 1? Or do a comparison showing the differences?
I could definitely do something like that with the original! Could be a really helpful thing to have.
As always, thank you, Tom. Just curious, by default, for a new mic, do you also turn on the noise gate filter?
The default processing has a little bit of the noise gate turned on, but it’s pretty subtle.
Oh great, exactly what I needed. A friend asked about this lately and...I'll skip doing the explanation part 😂, we'll grab a cup of coffee and watch this video, do, rinse & repeat....
Nice! I tried to make it as brief and concise as possible!
I love how a viewer's comment allowed you to use your favorite Lewitt mic, good to see! haha
Absolutely awesome! I learn a ton from stuff in the comments.

If you have a 3.5mm TRS dynamic mic, can you just use a 3.5mm-to-1/4” TRS adapter and plug it in like a guitar input? Into channels 1-4?
How would you connect this to a camera feed when recording?

This is an excellent tutorial!!

Hi Tom, Is it possible for 1 of the 2 usb inputs to turn into an output so I can have the mixer's audio going into a computer?
Where do I find the stand for the mixer just like yours? I think it's nice to make it part of your scenario
I'm planning to make a video about it soon, but this is the one I use: geni.us/bOkzyk1
can i control volume of speakers or mic that is plugged into my computer directly and the rodecaster duo plugged into that same pc?
LOVE THE VIDEO QUICK QUESTION WILL I BE ABLE TO GET 5 MICS ON THIS¿. I WILL HAVE A TOTAL OF 5 GETS¿
You can add a Rode USB mic as a 5th option now, but if you need 5 XLR mics, a different mixer is probably the way to go.

You ever play with any AKG mics?
I've used them in previous jobs and always liked them, but don't have any reviews on the channel for some reason 🤷🏻♂️
I was wonder is it necessary to have a laptop to be able to work the rodecaster or is it just plug and play
It can work as a standalone recorder/mixer.

How about the rode wireless go 2

It's the same process as far as levels/EQ go, but you just use the wireless connection instead of the other presets 👍
