I was looking for physical faders to adjust all the setup i did with vb potato and virtual cables for my streaming and this completely replaces it and makes it even better and I'm so pumped
This actually helped so much with my decision! Both my GoXLR and mic recently stopped working. I'm picking up a Shure SM7B, but I wasn't sure if I should go with another GoXLR due to the small team that is pushing updates. I've only heard bad things about the GoXLR, sadly enough, or go with the Rodecaster Pro 2. This video 100000% confirmed the Rode for me. Thanks for the amazing and well-thought-out video!
Thanks. It's a good start I think. Though perhaps a bit fiddly for people to implement. My solution with SteelSeries Sonar was easier and is my preference but if you want to use the hardware sliders for manual volume control of virtual sources this is an excellent update.
This usecase is exactly why I went with The Rodecaster Duo. It goes even deeper because you can also set up whether things are pre/post fader which makes it really nice if you want to control all or most audio levels through the physical mixer while still having separate sources in OBS.
Love it. Been having some cracks and pops tho when I use extended channel option. Not getting any cracks and pops when using single. Hope it will get fixed
Loving the new beta. It did take a while. I think because they been busy with a new product they been working on. Did anyone else see the teaser on their TH-cam Channel? There's been little details. My guess it's a video switcher/audio interface.
@@TheProvokedPrawn that's great! Let's see what they can bring to the market with their innovations. Hope it's something special to add on the arsenal for production.
The problem I'm facing now is that the sound has disappeared. I put it in multi-track in Google Chrome and I don't hear anything. What should I do?? When I updated now it was updated to 1.4.4 what do I do to make the sound work like you did now I don't hear anything unless I change the sound to road caster chat
What do you leave your windows mic volume set to ? I’ve read 54 .. 80 .. and I’m confused . I feel like 54 it sounds better but it’s just too quiet .. 80 is high enough but brings in very slight weird frequencies
@@TheProvokedPrawn I gonna make a bit of a bold statement and say the with this new update rode is the way to go for anyone looking for a good audio set up
@@Eldon.308 it is excellent, though I still prefer my SteelSeries Sonar workaround as it's more flexible but obviously doesn't work in the same way with the hardware faders.
As someone who uses a goxlr? In your opinion, what audio mixer do you think is the better audio mixer out of the rode podcaster pro 2 or the goxlr? Or maybe it depends on preference or something?
depends on whether you stream or not. I have both the GoXLR and the Rode products and I choose Rode, but I don't care about hardware controls and volumes for changing volumes for stream vs recording on the fly. Rode's hardware is better and now the software is getting there. Watch my Streamer X or Duocaster video and see what you think.
@TheProvokedPrawn I stream sure but I mostly care for looping people and sampler. I want an audio mixer that can sample people in real time for trolling and whatnot. Do you have any mixers in mind that have that loop & sampler functionality or is the goxlr the only one with that?
I'm not sure if i understood it correctly, but does this allow you to play copyright music for you and your chat while seperating it from the recording to avoid strikes?
Just curious the section where you set the game audio, for console gamers it would be the same expect setting the capture card audio to rodecastor game correct
Hey quick question. I downloaded everything, all worked. Was able to set up virtual channels they work however I think I have an issue. When I am in windows under the mixer our sound property screen I have RODECaster Pro II Main Multitrack set as my default output. When I go on say the You tube and try to play a video no sound registers. If I change to the virtual channels they work. When I go to the sound property screen and test the sound it says that it is being used by another application, DEVICE IN USE. I have no DAW software running? Is this an issue? Are you able to get sound say from you tube using your Main Multitrack as your speakers out? Thanks. I was hoping to have windows and web browser stuff run on the Main Multitrack out while the others, game and music play on their respective virtual lines.
I am new to using Rodecaster ( Duo here ), I stream and have been using Elgato's streaming equipment for years. I am confused, is there a way to monitor the output of all channels back through your computer? I only have the USB1 connected to my computer, and think maybe I misunderstood what this device can do.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thank you for the reply. I still can not get the Rodecaster to work the way I had my Elgato equipment to working. I assumed virtual channels from the Rodecaster would work the same as my Elgato set up would. Or maybe I am just too dense and can not figure it out. Ultimately I was hoping this Rodecaster Duo would replace the former equipment and function the same way, but give me physical sliders.
I did every single step in the video, and i have a problem which is windows did not register the Music and Game in the sound settings instead its "Speaker Rode caster due Main Multitrack" how to fix this ?
@@TheProvokedPrawn Got the solution for the problem. RODE helped. Turn off Bypass, and set a Fader to one of the Virtual Channels. The Channel should appear Window-Side, and become selectable. I got Game, System, and I suppose I could get A, B, and Music by the same process.
This is amazing. I’ve been eyeing of the Rodecasters for so long but no virtual audio channels has always been a deal breaker
