- Ukraine says it’s pushed Russian troops right back to the border near the city of Kharkiv.
Ukrainian forces have been counter attacking and retaking territory in the north-east of the country in recent days.
The city of Izyum - known as the Gateway to Donbas - sits above the main body of Ukrainian forces holding back Russia's eastern push.
BBC correspondent Quentin Sommerville is on patrol with the men protecting this critical front line.

About 2 thousand Ukrainian soldiers are blocked on the territory of the plant in Mariupol.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation opened a humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of the wounded from the territory of Azovstal on May 16, and 300 militants left the plant with a white flag.

Even if the Russian tanks are rolling through their backyard with the Ukrainian army raining Javelins down on them, the Ukrainians seem not to force the residents to go anywhere or even leave against their will. Im US Navy vet and when i keep hearing these brave fighters saying they are waiting on western help from other democratic countries ….. Every fiber in my body tells me we should be giving these guys everything we have that could help them.
