He's not slick, he's not perfect, but he sure can sing and he knows what he's talking about. Everyone, black, white, brown, asian, man and woman, who works hard just to get by, is part of this song. The reason it's taken off so fast is that people, everyday people, relate to it. I would venture to say that he's now part of that great Folk tradition like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. And his commitment reminds me of Johnny Cash and classic albums like RIDE THIS TRAIN, BITTER TEARS and BALLADS OF THE TRUE WEST.
