It's very hard to cancel someone who EVERYONE LIKES. Even right wing people listen to him and say "okay, I can deal with how he communicates about these subjects, I can take a look at that, and I can laugh at myself too." We used to have conversations and be able to laugh with each other, and Dave reminds us of those times. Times when the politicians usually went to a closed door room and they made their deals, shook hands, drank a martini and signed the thing and everyone moved the eff on.

I am a 63 year old man who actually watched the Chapelle special that has everyone up in arms. He was upset at how the trans community treated his trans friend after she defended him. The abuse was so bad she killed herself.

Chapelle's last special, "The Closer" if I remember correctly, he closed out with a story of a fan who was trans and was being harassed by others in the trans community because they were a fan and Dave was making jokes out of fun, not hate. He cared about that fan, they came to a lot of shows and he knew them by name and face. After they stopped coming suddenly he looked into it, only to find out that person killed themself due to the hatred and harassment from their own "community" over obvious jokes that were simple fun poking, not hatred. You could see the hatred and disgust on his face at that community's hypocrisy and stubborn adherence to their 'cause' at the expense of one of their own. Over some jokes.

Thats so so very horrible!!!!!! I disagree with alot of people in real life in person and even if they support something that i am 100% completely against! I just dont really care! I will still be friends with them, but try not to mention the things i dislike, that they like and vice versa. I love that some of my friends and family and me have differences of opinion. It's sometimes refreshing to see things in a different light. It sometimes opens your eyes to something that you didn't really know about, or thought it wasnt or was true. Its good to have friends from all walks of life. You can make your opinions on whatever you want. To keep telling someone "you should/shouldnt like this because i do/dont" Thats a control freak! And you should steer clear of those types of people! I know, im sort of going back on what i said about having "all walks of life as friends" well what i mean though is stay away from Controling, narcissistic people or any other really bad toxic people! Its fine to not have them as friends lol just stay clear of anyone who tries to harm you, whether physically, mentally, emotionally and Spiritually. Anyway in short, its ok to have friends who you disagree with on topics, but if they are trying to control you or judging you to the point where you're really hurting because of it, well they arent your friend then anyways! First Ave was the venue that I attended my first concert at 18. Sad to see it's reduced to cancelling a comic as prominent as Dave Chappelle to appease the freaks.
When you said "I hope the club goes under like one of Ted Kennedy's dates" I just about pissed my pants laughing! At 71, it's actually pretty easy to do. I doubt the "younger' crowd would even know what you were talking about. In my day and age, we had a band called "the Dead Kennedys", something the woke people of today would never allow. I miss the good old days, but I'll be dead soon, so I won't have to worry about it anymore.

It’s crazy, but true. After my kids moved out, we started going out a lot more. We went to a metal concert resently and the young kids are sitting there masked up, afraid to stand up, worried about what kind of virus they are going to get. This generation has been spoiled and one of the factors,I think, is not learning how to lose. They stopped keeping score in sports so everyone wins until they are 10-12 years old. Im in my 20s I've been watching Dave more and more since the few people who started complaining about him. Comedy is about making fun of all if you can't handle Comedy your the problem not the comedians. Boohoo for you big babies.
They're still mad because the special they claim is the most "transphobic" of his specials doesn't even have Trans jokes in it. He told one story at the end. About his friend, who killed themselves...most likely due to the fact that they were attacked over and over again by the "community" they thought they belonged to, because they were friends. They didn't like being called out for being a bunch of pieces of crap humans. And first Ave listened to a bunch of people who signed the petition..majority of which more than likely never been to their club, or minnesota...or minneapolis.
