DJI FPV Drone Repair Tutorial for Broken Front or Back Arm. I Crashed my Drone and fixed it!!

  • In This 4k video I walk you through a step by step tutorial on repairing your DJI FPV Drone if you crashed it and broke a front or back arm. I crashed mine into some power lines. I did not have DJI Refresh so I figured that there was nothing to lose by ordering a $26 dollar arm of Amazon and trying to repair it myself. It took me quite a few hours as I took my time, labeled parts and screws and took lots of pictures which all saved my bacon in the end! I hope that this tutorial helps someone else save some money but understand that I am NOT a pro and you do so at your own risk.

      It was helpfull but you make it look easier than it is., haha I couldn't remove the plate where the vision sensors cable enters the body of the drone. Managed to unclip its sides from the front legs but it was still firmly held in place and I was afraid to force it too much. I get a "vision system connection error " in my goggles so I think it is that side of the cable that is disconnected.

    Man that is so much work to replace an arm! Maybe consider trying a carbon fibre freestyle style of drone, so much stronger, and also much easier to change an arm, typically two screws and three wires.

    Watching now. But should be like fixing any drone just arm comes with motors and leds attached already. Solder motor wire to esc (switch wires if spins wrong direction I guess) solder led wires. Screw arm on.
    Just it cost a lot more than my $4 arm and $15 motor and $0.50 racewire led

    I crashed my fpv got a little stupid with it. Anyway I didn’t use this vid but another one. I’ll say with no experience with building quads and very little soldering experience. With a little organization it went smoothly 3 hours about with a couple breaks it was back in the air. Had to swap two arms and the center frame. Pretty easy if your any kind of good with your hands totally fixable at home.

    • @upnorthFPVandEUC

      That's awesome and your right.. the most important part is getting a system to help remember where all those screws go.

  • @ZabDevin
    @ZabDevin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You did a great job. I’m handy with tools and could do this, but it is a bit much. Do you think the brace they sell would’ve prevented the break?

    • @upnorthFPVandEUC
      @upnorthFPVandEUC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possibly but it ejected the battery and then fell to the ground from power line hight.

    • @myfalconry76
      @myfalconry76 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why break one arm when you can break two? I had the braces on. If it crashes at slow speed most likely will help but i caught the left side of mine on a post ripped both arms right off. Actually broke not mounting spots for the legs right off the center frame.

    Thank you!
    I just know I’ll be needing a ton of spare parts now that I added the FPV Drone to my toy collection.
    I already had a low battery “let me force land this on THE HIGHWAY” incident. 😳
    Fortunately, it was “CCP Virus Low Traffic” time…. I was able to retrieve it unharmed.
    I keep thinking it’s a Mavic 2 w/semi decent battery life.. compounded by the longer RC/RF range
    of OccuSync 3.0 - it gets approximately 25-30% better range / distance over OccuSync 2.
    You have a nice collection of videos and do great editing.
    Thanks.

    Hello sr.
    have a strange question here, Sorry for bothering again.
    I had to change the left front motor of my Dji Fpv. The issue is that to do it correctly I also had to remove the rear left arm. When reassembling everything, I had the problem that the rear left arm antenna cable connector came out of the cable, the problem is that the rear left arm antenna is inside the arm and cannot be accessed (it is not on the foot of the arm as if they are on the front arms). Not having the necessary tool to crimping the antenna connector to the cable itself. So i was wondering if i could splice the cable with another antenna cable that i have and use that connector, if not i have to buy another rear arm and in mi country is really difficult to do. i hope that it is explained well. Have a nice day and thanks again.

    • @upnorthFPVandEUC
      @upnorthFPVandEUC  ปีที่แล้ว

      It might be possible to splice The wire but I would just order a new cable. you will have to remove the rear arm and put the new antenna cable in it and then reinstall

    I had to replace 2 arms and the main frame. But it was easier then i thought by using your video. Only problem i after i assembled the drone back together

    read a voltage with the battery on. Which makes me think my problem is my batterys. If you guys have a meter do you see voltage at the plug connection? i dont.
