@@TheReelRahim I will certainly try your rates. I will mention that for the time being I prefer yaw to be the same settings as P/R. I’m new to FPV and committed to this quad. You’re providing a great service to the community! Thanks again.
I am looking for a rate suggestion for someone trying to learn to fly in M mode. Every posts "best dates". If you were to tune it down to be less reactive what rates would you use? Thank you.
Iv created slower rates for Pitch and Roll, and then soften it further in the centre zone. U can follow it here : th-cam.com/video/C5s1HaFWcws/w-d-xo.html For the max rate, applies to its maximum spin rate at ends of the sticks. So iv reduced it. I didnt want a linear response, leading up to reaching e end of stick movements on the controller, so i adjusted Expo and Centre Sensitivity, to make e centre zone softer and not so reactive. Try it in e sim. Its lighter. But if u dont have a sim, then keep 'Attitude' limit ON. This prevents a spin, until u are comfortable in Manual Mode.
Sorry I missed this. Thanks! Hope the journey has been smooth for you. Do feel free to ask any help anywhere in the comments and I'll respond in kind. Till then, enjoy the journey and I'll see you in the skies!
Thanks for watching! It takes awhile to really feel the drone and setting up the rates. But it will be worth it. Fly safe, and i'll see you in the skies!
Usually I have my camera angle at 25degrees. Depending on the drone power and ability to fly, I may lower this if I want to fly slower, or raise it higher for more speed for the scene. Some explanation here on angles: th-cam.com/video/pHcQuOItoJo/w-d-xo.html
Sorry I missed this. You're most welcome! Hope the journey has been smooth for you. Do feel free to ask any help anywhere in the comments and I'll respond in kind. Till then, enjoy the journey and I'll see you in the skies!
What an amzing video! This is by far the best explanation I have found in all my research. Do you have any issue with the CS on the throttle? It is the only rate I cant seem to adjust and it is so touchy it makes learning very difficult. Have you noticed this compaired to other FPV drones/controllers?
Thanks and great to hear frm u again. Yep, actually i do have expo set on my DIY fpv transmitter. And thats for different situations, like when i intend to fly close proximity and low height, having softer throttle feel helps, if not i'd be hitting the roof often. lol! heard that this could be done with DJI Assistant 2, and able to open developer tools. May wanna give it a try soon. Here is the guide : th-cam.com/video/FOUjg2CrBEc/w-d-xo.html Havent watched it though. Had a friend link me up. Let me know how its going if u happen to give it a go.

Tq for much love! I will really appreciate it 🙏🏼🤟🏽. You could consider buying me coffee at www.buymeacoffee.com/thereelrahim. Goes a long way to supporting my passion!
Hi! Love you tutorial videos!! Quick question, do these rate changes only work in Manual Mode or would you get the benefit in Normal and Sport as well?
Thanks for watching mate. But sorry man, these only benefit for Manual mode. Altho, kind odd that rates cant be set for Sport and Manual. Maybe didnt want to make it confusing and meant to only keep focus on this as an FPV drone. Well just my guess. Anyways see u in the skies 🤟🏽
The best video explaining the dji fpv rates! Took the time to really explain and demonstrate it. I can recognize Singapore, you can fly in parks there? I don't know Singapore rules about Drones
Thanks! Hope it helps you to apply it and tune in to your preferences. For Sg, some parks do allow flying of drones. Best to check NParks website on flyable areas. The airspace is governed by CAAS, but the park/land owner will have a say too.
As mentioned in another episode, give these a try. Soft in the centre for cinematic control, fast spins at full stick movement: th-cam.com/video/Ybm89B1pIO8/w-d-xo.html
Always much love. Thanks bro! I rewind back to Gen2, use markers n paper. Graphics would have been great, but i guess this would give more of a 'organic' session.
If anyone could answer this question for me that would be nice but does higher expo with a low center stick mean less sensitivity? Like does higher expo equate to higher sensitivity?
Low expo Eg. 0.01 means almost normal sensitivity and linear delivery of rotation power. If you add expo up to 1.0, around the centre of the stick controls, it will feel muted but power will abruptly come in as you get the stick to max outer end. You can try this in the DJI sim first to have a feel.
Dear Rahim, it has been very helpful to me as fpv beginner, what do you use to carry DJI Fpv? I am thinking for Lowepro ProTactic 350, appreciate your suggestion bro, Roger!
CAMERA BAGS R E WAY TO GO! i personally recommend a rear access bag. Coz less likely for stuff to fall out by mistake. Also, if u rest e bag to open it up on the ground, e outer is on the ground. Better to have damp grass wet the outer area of the bag, than the padded area that will rest on your back later. I use 2 bags. A lowepro BPX2 for DIY drone and a ThinkTank Urban Access 13 for DJI FPV. Will be in a future episode! The ProTactic 350 looks great too! And having e outer weaves will allow for expansion! Go for it🤟🏽
Hi Rahim, Amazing content!!. I'm a beginner. got the dji fpv and playing only with liftoff and a phone simulator. could you explain in a in-depth video how manual mode changes the stick movement and also what does roll pitch yaw does. I feel it's impossible for me now to fly in liftoff.
Hi and thanks! Great that u are practicing on simulators first. Yep manual mode is not easy. U will really need to spend many hours b4 u can make Manual mode muscle memory. These episodes should help with the flying portion: th-cam.com/play/PLbGJAZK11noSr0316g0Gg_MojBHBy6wHY.html
Thank you for e support. Alot of things here in this long-ass episode. Hope u try it out. Take e time, as its a fullfilling experience to tune in your own rates 👍🏼👍🏼
Hope it helps u. Take it easy, as its a bit much to ask for those who are just warming up to fpv and suddenly have to start doing flips 😅. Fly safe, and see u in e next one🤙🏼
@@TheReelRahim Definitively! I did ~30-40 hours in the simulator before I was feeling ok with switching to manual on it, still need to practice on the large open areas a lot before I will be comfortable in smaller, tighter environment. One feature which I will love is something like 'Cinematic' or 'Tripod'for the Manual mode - to make it more slow...
Hello! Thank you for explanation of the settings! I see these settings are for mostly for M manual mode, could you give a some advice if you are using N or S mode only, what setting would you use, most likely using the drone for cinematic shots? Thank you in advance
Soon enough! It will be covered in one of the upcoming episodes! Coz there is something really special in S mode, which is Cruise Control. See u in a future episode 🤘🏽
Great that u asked, coz actually there will be an episode coming next week where ill reveal new rates, combining fpv freestyle speeds, but smooth handling at cruise. But for now, if you are still at stock rates and have no need to do flips and rolls, id recommend following these 2 steps. 1) Lower CS(it will soften the stick feel in the centre) until you feel comfortable that the drone won't react so fast to input from neutral centre. U can even try 0, but its way too soft for me. 2) Raise Expo. This will give the stick a smoother climb to max. But as shown in the episode, "1" will be too smooth that u will need to move the sticks ALOT just to get the drone moving in that direction. Hope this helps get u started.
YES! The current update allows u to input rates. I feel its a good move, coz i want to train in the sim, but rates were stock in the previous one. Drone control is v much different that way. Go ahead and input these in the sim and try some flips and rolls. It really feels close. Dont worry about the EXACT feel, as trust me its close enough. Get the muscle memory in, and the SEND IT TO THE SKIES!Lol!
Sory bro..tanya dlm.malay..sy ada fpv dji ney..utk start manual..1st soalan perlu ka stick tu.. sy bagi longgar atau tak pyh kacau... 2nd utk take off sy pakai normal mode...drone dah hover sy tukar pegi manual mode...dia masi hover mcm biasa?..
No prob bro. Ni dua soalan, jawapannye ade link. Sye jwb 1st soalan. Pendapat sy memang perlu bagi longgar. Sebab lagi senang nk control. Ni kene mengena ngan Soalan 2. Jawapan soalan 2, Normal mode memang drone hover. Sye sarankan throttle dilonggarkan, jadi senang control drone.
@@TheReelRahim tenq bro baru nak fly tak bagi longgar stick..haha silap2 ke bulan..skg ney sy masi newbie pasal manual.mode dji fpv ney bro..jd 1st utk fly sy hover dlu pakai normal.mode..pastu tukar pegi manual mode la kan..sy kena tukar setting la untuk buat mcm bro yg boleh bagi tengah stick dia hover?
Yep, it does seem slow actually . its just coz its a heavier quad in my opinion. Like slightly sluggish. DIYs are much more agile and reactive, while the DJI FPV doesn't have the quick and powerful motors that DIYs have. Then again the motors and overall system is efficient for the longer flight times. Thats the tradeoff for power vs efficiency I guess.
Thank you for staying to support! My throttle stick setting is no longer the same like in the video. When I bring the stick down, it will stay there. This is like my DIY FPV controller. So for the DJI FPV controller, hold it straight up and turn over to the back. You can open the rubber grip of the left stick. Use the Allen key supplied in the box. Tighten L2 FULL to make the stick not go up. Tighten L1 to give some resistance (up to your feel). Now if I push my throttle down, it stays down. Hope this helps.
@@TheReelRahim sorry my question was, if my throttle stick is in middle how do I make it go less in up, add EXPO to throttle ?. I want to reduce the center thrust.
Heya! Thanks a lot for your video! Do you know the comparison with Betaflight rates/expo lettering? Cuz I have 2.00 RC Rate (linear sensibility) - 0.35 Rate (equal to Super Rate / sensibility at the extramity of the stick) - 0.65 Expo... The only one that has the same lettering is "expo" of course... while RC Rate and Rate are the nasty ones. Following the "meaning" of DJI I should have 40 or 30 in "center sensitivity" as I have for my "0.35 Rate" and 2000 for Max Rate which should be RC Rate.... But it looks weird having 2000... on DJI Virtual Flight the curve shapes looks like in betaflight with these values but don't want to crash it trying it out not being sure of that 2 values (center sensitivity and max rate)... any tip/help to understand the comparison between the 2 lettering DJI and Betaflight?
Im sorry, i too have not made sense of it. But then again, im an adaptive person. Meaning i try to have e best feel with my DIY first, then switch over in the same session and tune the DJI. Im happy with a close enough feel, and not going for numbers. Plus, the dynamics of each drone is diff (batt on top vs batt below, with or without Gopro mounted etc.). So i just start off with a similar feel for max spin rate at full stick deflection, then give it some expo for halfway sticks, and finally e CS to suit cruising flowy comfort. Iv not had success with all my DIY feeling e same EVEN ON SAME RATES, so i just get a close enough feel. Less time on the bench, more time in the skies 🤟🏽
@@TheReelRahim that’s fine, I was just wondering whether 2000 might be something extremely exaggerated before crashing my drone at launch or if that would be a possible rate setting
Thank you very much. I'm watching you from St. Petersburg. Unfortunately, we have very little good content for this hobby in Russia. I have already owned dji fpv for two months and have already learned to fly in acro mode, I want to get away from the factory settings.
Glad to hear! Once you get into Acro, you will realise that some settings need to change to fly better. I hope to cover more of that in future content. See you in the next one!
I tried manual today R110 110 0.55 P110 1000 0.55 Y150 1300 0.55 and almost had a heart attack lol all of a sudden the drone went vertical hover, spinning in circles in one place.. i panic and press all my buttons trying to turn the engine off which dont work lol i had the button switch down to engine off and up for engine start didnt work lol finally i was able to press my panic button and it worked. On the simulator i didnt have a hard time on manual but this was whole different…
OOooo those are very fast rates bro. But then again its personal preference. Not too sure what happened here but glad that you managed to save it before things got out of hand. Just try to do pre-flight check again before you flip it in manual. Maybe just a glitch. And also be ready on the panic switch. Safe flight 🤟🏽
Yep it is, but I hope with this guide, it will make others get into it easier. Prolly get used to manual mode handling, and then thats where tuning personal rates will come in.

Thanks! Hope it helps u out! More coming up 🤟🏽
Hello whats your camera angle??
Dude thank you for this!!!
You're most welcome 🤟🏽. Glad it worked out for u ✌🏽
What’s the best rate will be for someone that never flow fpv before? Thank you so much
Hi nice to hear from you again! You could try these.
th-cam.com/video/C5s1HaFWcws/w-d-xo.html
Soft at the centre for easy flying, and fast only at the end of the sticks.
Great video but tell me honestly did you crash in the end ? 😛
Thanks. But sorry to disappoint mate, I didnt. Here's a crash episode :

Thanks! Will make better content, many more episodes to come!
Good process-oriented tutorial on arriving at what is a personal choice. Thank you!
You're very welcome! Some prefer to just try my rates, but if you are feeling adventurous, you'll be rewarded with a custom tuned quad.
@@TheReelRahim I will certainly try your rates. I will mention that for the time being I prefer yaw to be the same settings as P/R.
I’m new to FPV and committed to this quad. You’re providing a great service to the community! Thanks again.
Yup, more importantly is that e controls suit the pilot
Awesome! Thank you!
Hope it helps. Take it a step at a time. Will take awhile to tune to perfection.
Another excellent tutorial…. Maybe you should teach DJI how to do them…..😎
Would be a dream job! Lol!
I am looking for a rate suggestion for someone trying to learn to fly in M mode. Every posts "best dates". If you were to tune it down to be less reactive what rates would you use? Thank you.
Iv created slower rates for Pitch and Roll, and then soften it further in the centre zone. U can follow it here :
th-cam.com/video/C5s1HaFWcws/w-d-xo.html
For the max rate, applies to its maximum spin rate at ends of the sticks.
@@TheReelRahim thank you.

Best video on rates
Thanks for watching! It takes awhile to really feel the drone and setting up the rates. But it will be worth it. Fly safe, and i'll see you in the skies!
Whats the camera degree position in this video? I must'be missed it.
Usually I have my camera angle at 25degrees. Depending on the drone power and ability to fly, I may lower this if I want to fly slower, or raise it higher for more speed for the scene. Some explanation here on angles:

Excellent tuning method man 👍👍👍
Appreciate it! hope it was simple enough. Give it a try and take it slow. If in doubt. fly as normal, then input my given rates and give it a try :)
Here is the guide :

Havent watched it though. Had a friend link me up. Let me know how its going if u happen to give it a go.

My dji fpv says "gps error" & "sensor system error" do you know what this could be?
Sorry never encountered it. Seems serious. Please get DJI to have a look. Esp since still under warrany

Glad it was useful, and thanks for e love! Here is my updated rates. Smooth in the centre stick, and fast on the full stick deflection:

Awesome dude, thanks so much! Is the Max Rate principal applicable to the left stick?
Are you in Mode 2 controls? Then yes, but only applies to Yaw and not to Throttle.
Very helpful, thanks 😊
You're welcome 😊! Hope to see you in the next one!
Hi, i need a rates for best cinematic setting. May you help me please ?
As mentioned in another episode, give these a try. Soft in the centre for cinematic control, fast spins at full stick movement:
th-cam.com/video/Ybm89B1pIO8/w-d-xo.html
Hahahahah I love it bro!!! Including the board! Nice one!
Always much love. Thanks bro! I rewind back to Gen2, use markers n paper. Graphics would have been great, but i guess this would give more of a 'organic' session.
What's up, Bryan!! Gotta tune them rates!! 😂😂😂✌
Very informative 👍
And still more to share! See u in the next episode 🤘🏽
Thanks mate 🙏
You're most welcome!
Go for it🤟🏽
Nice
You're most welcome. Feel free to ask me anithing through your journey. Stay safe and see you in the skies!
These episodes should help with the flying portion:

Thank you for e support. Alot of things here in this long-ass episode. Hope u try it out. Take e time, as its a fullfilling experience to tune in your own rates 👍🏼👍🏼
I am bad in English... please give some rates and Expo for beginner , to fly safe in manual mode
No problem. Try these :

Great explanation. Thanks!
@@JaroslavBengl something i have in mind for that setup. Will make a 'Cinematic Settings' in a future episode.
@@TheReelRahim how soon?
@@LiMaxEE its due for a future episode. I release an episode every Friday at 7am +8 GMT. Till then, see u in the skies!
What stick rates would you recommend for smooth, cinematic flying?
@@TheReelRahim great thanks! Look forward to the episode
@@TheReelRahim did you ever make that new rate vid?
This Fri, 8:30pm Singapore. GMT +8
Will these rates/expo work in DJI Virtual Sim?
YES! The current update allows u to input rates. I feel its a good move, coz i want to train in the sim, but rates were stock in the previous one. Drone control is v much different that way. Go ahead and input these in the sim and try some flips and rolls. It really feels close. Dont worry about the EXACT feel, as trust me its close enough. Get the muscle memory in, and the SEND IT TO THE SKIES!Lol!
Sory bro..tanya dlm.malay..sy ada fpv dji ney..utk start manual..1st soalan perlu ka stick tu.. sy bagi longgar atau tak pyh kacau...
2nd utk take off sy pakai normal mode...drone dah hover sy tukar pegi manual mode...dia masi hover mcm biasa?..
No prob bro. Ni dua soalan, jawapannye ade link. Sye jwb 1st soalan. Pendapat sy memang perlu bagi longgar. Sebab lagi senang nk control. Ni kene mengena ngan Soalan 2. Jawapan soalan 2, Normal mode memang drone hover. Sye sarankan throttle dilonggarkan, jadi senang control drone.
@@TheReelRahim tenq bro baru nak fly tak bagi longgar stick..haha silap2 ke bulan..skg ney sy masi newbie pasal manual.mode dji fpv ney bro..jd 1st utk fly sy hover dlu pakai normal.mode..pastu tukar pegi manual mode la kan..sy kena tukar setting la untuk buat mcm bro yg boleh bagi tengah stick dia hover?
Yes! Part ni, nk kene agak2 ikot rasa. Spring rasa longgar, tapi masih boleh sikit2 stay kat tengah, senang hover.
Is it me or max rate at 900 for the dji seems "slow" compared to a normal 5" drone.
I just subscribed for more content ❤
Thank you for much love. See you in the next one!
already subscribed :) btw I wanted to know, what should I do so than when my LEFT (throttle) stick is in center drop wont go up very quickly.
At e moment, there is no option to add expo to throttle. U will just have to control it by modulation
Oh man, thats extreme. Surprised its even avail. Wouldnt personally try it, as i dunno if i can handle that rate 😅
Thank you so much for the video!!! Can you add Russian subtitles to the video?
Hi, tq for bringing it up. Ill work on it! YT dont seem to create subtitles now, so ill find what options there are out there for captions. 🤟🏽
When I change my rates, do they translate in simulator…? Thanks!
GOOD QN! Never tried that. Will have a look and update u later!
Tmr quiero una clase en español sobre ese tema🙈
jajajaja. Realmente debería aprender a hablar español. ¡Gracias por ver!
I tried manual today R110 110 0.55
P110 1000 0.55 Y150 1300 0.55 and almost had a heart attack lol all of a sudden the drone went vertical hover, spinning in circles in one place.. i panic and press all my buttons trying to turn the engine off which dont work lol i had the button switch down to engine off and up for engine start didnt work lol finally i was able to press my panic button and it worked.
💯💯💯
Thanks bruv 🤘🏽
"Let's bring back the quad *slowly* ... ha ha yeah this custom tuning in real life seems a little scary. I'm learning a lot however.
Yep it is, but I hope with this guide, it will make others get into it easier. Prolly get used to manual mode handling, and then thats where tuning personal rates will come in.
CS=Deadzone
Max Rate=Sensitivity
Expo=Response Curve
Thanks for clarifying! Should have also mentioned this 😅

Only complain for DJI is that their drones are very noisy, and the amount of money they are charging they should be using carbon fibre or better durable materials for the drone or at least for propellers to avoid that noise and better absorbing rate
