    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great to hear! To keep it simple, set Max Rate first according to how fast u want the drone to spin at FULL STICK deflection. Second, adjust how that feels along half stick deflection. Some like this linear, some prefer with Expo to soften it. Then adjust sensitivity, for the controller to be very sensitive to your input, or muted. Take your time to find the perfect rates for you. You could try experiment this in the DJI app too, as you can adjust rates. Safer than trying this in the skies.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching mate. But sorry man, these only benefit for Manual mode. Altho, kind odd that rates cant be set for Sport and Manual. Maybe didnt want to make it confusing and meant to only keep focus on this as an FPV drone. Well just my guess. Anyways see u in the skies 🤟🏽

      @@TheReelRahim Definitively! I did ~30-40 hours in the simulator before I was feeling ok with switching to manual on it, still need to practice on the large open areas a lot before I will be comfortable in smaller, tighter environment. • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Hope it helps you to apply it and tune in to your preferences. For Sg, some parks do allow flying of drones. Best to check NParks website on flyable areas. The airspace is governed by CAAS, but the park/land owner will have a say too.

      Greetings from Singapore! Sorry I missed this. Hope your journey in the skies have been great. I use an fpv screen monitor mount. DIY fpv pilots used to fly through a screen, so I had one around. Not the best fit, but does a good job. Have a GoPro plastic base fixed on, and interchange between using a GoPro or a DJI Action 3. Iv ordered a better version as the clamp to controller is more versatile.

    What an amzing video! This is by far the best explanation I have found in all my research. Do you have any issue with the CS on the throttle? It is the only rate I cant seem to adjust and it is so touchy it makes learning very difficult. Have you noticed this compaired to other FPV drones/controllers?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks and great to hear frm u again. Yep, actually i do have expo set on my DIY fpv transmitter. And thats for different situations, like when i intend to fly close proximity and low height, having softer throttle feel helps, if not i'd be hitting the roof often. lol! heard that this could be done with DJI Assistant 2, and able to open developer tools. May wanna give it a try soon. Here is the guide :
      th-cam.com/video/FOUjg2CrBEc/w-d-xo.html
      Havent watched it though. Had a friend link me up. Let me know how its going if u happen to give it a go.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're most welcome. Its a battery cable from TBS that im trying out. U can use the 4S batteries from DIY drones. I dont recommend it as the button is a touch sensor button, that may switxh off the goggles of it rests on your face. Stick to stock DJI Goggle 2 batteries.

    Thank you for an amazing video. I have a question, is there a rates for throttle to keep it flying smooth and low and slow? Like to fly in building without worrying about smashing into areas etc

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry I missed this. You're most welcome! Hope the journey has been smooth for you. I have the same problem mate. When I was flying DIY fpv drones and wanted to fly in close proxy locations like an indoor carpark, i often would hit the ceiling. To counter this, I would add EXPO to throttle to have a smoother throttle curve. But sadly, the average user is unable to access this for the DJI FPV/Avata. BUT I did hear that there is a way to do this on the desktop. Have not tried this way yet. Prolly will get an episode out on this.

      CAMERA BAGS R E WAY TO GO! i personally recommend a rear access bag. Coz less likely for stuff to fall out by mistake. Also, if u rest e bag to open it up on the ground, e outer is on the ground. Better to have damp grass wet the outer area of the bag, than the padded area that will rest on your back later. I use 2 bags. A lowepro BPX2 for DIY drone and a ThinkTank Urban Access 13 for DJI FPV. Will be in a future episode! The ProTactic 350 looks great too! And having e outer weaves will allow for expansion! Go for it🤟🏽

      Thank you for staying to support! My throttle stick setting is no longer the same like in the video. When I bring the stick down, it will stay there. This is like my DIY FPV controller. So for the DJI FPV controller, hold it straight up and turn over to the back. You can open the rubber grip of the left stick. Use the Allen key supplied in the box. Tighten L2 FULL to make the stick not go up. Tighten L1 to give some resistance (up to your feel). Now if I push my throttle down, it stays down. Hope this helps.

    Heya! Thanks a lot for your video! Do you know the comparison with Betaflight rates/expo lettering? Cuz I have 2.00 RC Rate (linear sensibility) - 0.35 Rate (equal to Super Rate / sensibility at the extramity of the stick) - 0.65 Expo... The only one that has the same lettering is "expo" of course... while RC Rate and Rate are the nasty ones. Following the "meaning" of DJI I should have 40 or 30 in "center sensitivity" as I have for my "0.35 Rate" and 2000 for Max Rate which should be RC Rate.... But it looks weird having 2000... on DJI Virtual Flight the curve shapes looks like in betaflight with these values but don't want to crash it trying it out not being sure of that 2 values (center sensitivity and max rate)... any tip/help to understand the comparison between the 2 lettering DJI and Betaflight?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im sorry, i too have not made sense of it. But then again, im an adaptive person. Meaning i try to have e best feel with my DIY first, then switch over in the same session and tune the DJI. Im happy with a close enough feel, and not going for numbers. Plus, the dynamics of each drone is diff (batt on top vs batt below, with or without Gopro mounted etc.). So i just start off with a similar feel for max spin rate at full stick deflection, then give it some expo for halfway sticks, and finally e CS to suit cruising flowy comfort. Iv not had success with all my DIY feeling e same EVEN ON SAME RATES, so i just get a close enough feel. Less time on the bench, more time in the skies 🤟🏽

    What stick rates would you recommend for smooth, cinematic flying?

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great that u asked, coz actually there will be an episode coming next week where ill reveal new rates, combining fpv freestyle speeds, but smooth handling at cruise. But for now, if you are still at stock rates and have no need to do flips and rolls, id recommend following these 2 steps. 1) Lower CS(it will soften the stick feel in the centre) until you feel comfortable that the drone won't react so fast to input from neutral centre. U can even try 0, but its way too soft for me. 2) Raise Expo. This will give the stick a smoother climb to max. But as shown in the episode, "1" will be too smooth that u will need to move the sticks ALOT just to get the drone moving in that direction. Hope this helps get u started.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Iv created slower rates for Pitch and Roll, and then soften it further in the centre zone. U can follow it here :
      th-cam.com/video/C5s1HaFWcws/w-d-xo.html
      For the max rate, applies to its maximum spin rate at ends of the sticks. So iv reduced it. I didnt want a linear response, leading up to reaching e end of stick movements on the controller, so i adjusted Expo and Centre Sensitivity, to make e centre zone softer and not so reactive. Try it in e sim. Its lighter. But if u dont have a sim, then keep 'Attitude' limit ON. This prevents a spin, until u are comfortable in Manual Mode.

    • @TheReelRahim
      @TheReelRahim  ปีที่แล้ว

      Low expo Eg. 0.01 means almost normal sensitivity and linear delivery of rotation power. If you add expo up to 1.0, around the centre of the stick controls, it will feel muted but power will abruptly come in as you get the stick to max outer end. You can try this in the DJI sim first to have a feel.

Throttle stick kalau auto kat tengah, drone terbang ke bulan hhahaha. Tu sebab sye longgarkan sikit. Biasanye, pilot2 yang DIY racing drone, throttle stick tak boleh auto tengah. Yep, it does seem slow actually . its just coz its a heavier quad in my opinion. Like slightly sluggish. DIYs are much more agile and reactive, while the DJI FPV doesn't have the quick and powerful motors that DIYs have. Then again the motors and overall system is efficient for the longer flight times. Thats the tradeoff for power vs efficiency I guess.

    Why were you wearing a mask when you were outside?🤣

      Its an offence not too at the time, and may incur fines. So unless you were doing any strenuous activity like jogging, then masks were to be on.

    What cord is on you goggles ?

    • @TheReelRahim

      U can get the cord from Team Black Sheep. Its for use with DIY drone lipos, has a switch and can power the fan of some DIY Drone goggles like Fatsharks. Still testing it, but on initial opinion, id rather use the original batt. good batt life, also has a switch, and slips in easy on pants pocket. best is just get another for spare.

    I don’t think you have explained CS correctly. It’s not a muted dead zone it’s the rate in the centre. This should be set first then working from there.

      DAYUM! Bardwell always does it best. Im just sharing the usual practice of how DIY pilots get their rates, or how they used to aniways. Thanks for sharing this. Would be great for me to do a revision of this episode, to relate for the DJI FPV/Avata context.
