As Johnny Carson used to say I did not know that Johnny asked Arnold Palmer if he did anything before his tournaments for luck and he said yes that he had his wife kiss his balls Johnny replied I bet that makes your putter stand right up. A little golf humor.
hahaha, IM sure the number crossed or they use the same number...or I just installed an airtext pump that's probably coming back in two weeks on the hook. hahha
I installed a $60.00 wiper motor, Cardone brand, from O'Reilly's not long ago on the Wife's'03 Accord. It lasted maybe 2 weeks and it was NOISY right out of the box. Returned it for a refund, went to the boneyard and got a used OEM for $35. Haven't had a problem since, and it's QUIET!
Your camera angles and lighting are really good Tim. Not bad for only having an IPhone. It sure is quiet in the shop. I wish I could hang around and provide some distractions. (ha ha)
I would enjoy that. My wife tends to stay away when I'm filming but provides distraction often. Poor woman sits up front and plays computer games 90% of the day. Then has to put up with me every night.
Great video thanks for sharing. Tim I have a 2002 Buick LeSabre. The fuel pump is behind the seat in the trunk. I hear it running and kicking on and off. Is this normal? Thanks for the. Many thumbs up. stay warm.
I know that sometimes when a pump is in the beginning stages of failure it can get noisy. But I have also heard pumps make a lot of noise for a long time and never go out. Your guess is as good as mine. My guess is that sooner or later your pump will fail like every other buick I have seen. But I hope its a long time form now buddy!
Smashing job :-D Those cheap pumps just suck, or perhaps they dont LOL. Love the trapdoor access, some cars dont have it, a jigsaw often fixes that. Some manufacturers are just pillocks :).
I wonder if my customers would mind if I used a sawzall to remove their fuel pump...haha. They should be happy since the next time they need to replace it it will be super easy!
I would call it "A factory upgrade." :-D. By now, all cars should have one, ok we will make electric ones exempt. Manufacturers need to stop messing around with the basic box on wheels, make more parts swappable between brands, no silly special computer systems that are a pain to put right. Just keep the alarm systems an unknown. Im dreaming again LOL :-D
No kidding. They should make all cars able to talk to your phone. Email you wen something is wrong. Have repair manual in electronic format on CD in glovebox. Why not?
If you do have a couple of broken nuts can you put a couple of self tapping screws in so that the gasket gets a good seal? Asking because I discovered mine has a couple broken and it smells of gas...i bought car recently...
Yes, I had a fellow tech who burnt up here after dropping a drop light and igniting fuel. Scary. Those cars get tons of miles. I think that one had 200K plus.
Good to sea they gave you a new sock filter. Oh and is Gent Lee related to Gypsy also ? two too ? Hey shouldn't we put the question mark at the beginning of the sentence so we know a question is going to be axed asked? Just thought I'd throw that out there before4 the snow gets tootwoto deep. Thanks fer havin me. Chow.
How come u don't have rust or corrosion. U live in Alaska. Don't they put salt out on roads in winter. I'm I'm northern WI. They cover the roads in Salt here.
Thanks for the video... You didn't clean the tank though. If there's a lot of sediment in it, that could have been the reason why the old pump died and the new pump wont last long. Also remember not to smoke crack kids.
Tim its OK .. Point your finger and give'r a shout out. Tell us how you really feel about those Airtex fuel pumps. You don't have to be polite just on a account of us numbnuts.
Haha no smoking crack on the job. Great vid buddy nice tips and tricks of the trade. Cheers !!!
Hey Tim ya gotta match.
Sorry that wouldn't be safe make that a lighter.
No kidding, a match would be so bad. I always use a lighter when I need a little extra light to see inside the fuel tank
Did you know smoking crack makes you skinny? I obviously don't smoke crack.
As Johnny Carson used to say
I did not know that

FANTASTIC WORK AND HUMOR DOC!!
Thank you for the support and encouragement! Blessings!
Dr. Tim, I had the urge to google "fuel pump e8235" from the box you had in your hand. Guess what came up? You guessed it, Airtex! LOL.

100 years ago you would be shot for selling junk parts.

Great video. at what mileage do these generally fail at? I have a Camry at 317K, still original one.

Given the location and potential for fuel leakage to seep into vehicle i would be careful with whatever fix you come up with.
Did you replace the interior parts that you busted up
Hi - would this apply to a 2007 Subaru Tribeca too?
do these cars do mega mileage or is it cheap pumps from factory. led lights way to go for safety man its bright for sure.
Yes, I had a fellow tech who burnt up here after dropping a drop light and igniting fuel. Scary. Those cars get tons of miles. I think that one had 200K plus.
It’s going to be more of a wake 😂 too good
Good job
Thanks mate!
You were talking about Ginger Lee is she related to Gypsy Rose Lee?
Good to sea they gave you a new sock filter.
Oh and is Gent Lee related to Gypsy also ? two too
? Hey shouldn't we put the question mark at the beginning of the sentence so we know a question is going to be axed asked? Just thought I'd throw that out there before4 the snow gets tootwoto deep. Thanks fer havin me.

Not any more she's pushing up roses.
I have a really good one but Im not going to share it. well, its probably not that good.
Prolly is good just a little riskaye and you just wanna be perlite.
I understand.
They should abolish those cheap pumps.Love the access panel though!!
Yes the panel is nice. Its a quick job but why they don't make better pumps im not sure...But I like fixing cars so I guess its a good idea..haha
How come u don't have rust or corrosion. U live in Alaska. Don't they put salt out on roads in winter. I'm I'm northern WI. They cover the roads in Salt here.
Nope. No salt used here. They just plow a lot.
always take a torch an heat the stud up on the tank so they wont break off lmao
oh my goodness. we need to plan another celebration of life!
+The Car Doctor lmfao not for me I know better but I am sure there's ppl out there that wouldn't know any better
You tellin' me I can't smoke crack whilst doing this??? Damn
Thanks for the video... You didn't clean the tank though. If there's a lot of sediment in it, that could have been the reason why the old pump died and the new pump wont last long.
Also remember not to smoke crack kids.
Just say no to crack! No I didn't clean the tank but I probably dropped more dirt in it. oops.
No smoking crack while replacing fuel pump.....check!
Another lifesaving tip from The Car Doctor

Tim its OK .. Point your finger and give'r a shout out. Tell us how you really feel about those Airtex fuel pumps. You don't have to be polite just on a account of us numbnuts.
