  • Just in time for Whacking Day, Some Jerk With A Camera examines the most cromulent ride to ever embiggen Universal Studios! Mmmm, Simpsons quotes...
DISCLAIMER: This video, like every video on this channel, is intended only for mature audiences. While the topic at hand is a form of media commonly associated with small children, the purpose of this video is to present a mixture of analysis and comedy about said media from a distinctly adult perspective, which may possibly include profane language and references to sex, drugs and/or violence. TH-cam, like many websites, collects personal data on its users. The Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) has made it illegal to collect personal data on children younger than 13, and rather than fix their own algorithm, TH-cam is essentially threatening to pass the blame onto content creators whose work may seem "attractive" to children. For these reasons, the producers of this video feel compelled to state, in no uncertain terms, that if you allow a child under 13 years old to watch this TH-cam channel, you are a bad parent or guardian.

My theory of the yellow thing is that yellow is often associated with happiness :) It's also one of the brightest colors, so it makes characters stand out and makes them more memorable.

    • @AprilTheSimmer
      @AprilTheSimmer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Theresa Neal Yeah originally the characters of the Simpsons were made to be yellow because they wanted to grab the attention of the audience. Also TV was competitive back then. 😉

Dude, a Treehouse of Horrors themed Simpsons Ride would be fucking sweet for Halloween Horror Nights. Hell, if they could do a Halloween theme for Space Mountain and a Nightmare Before Christmas theme for Haunted Mansion, why not a horror theme for Simpsons?

I've never set foot in the Hollywood Park but I have been to Universal Orlando many times growing up, and one of my favorite rides was Back to the Future. Two years ago, my parents took me to Universal Orlando for my birthday, and I remember going up to the Simpson's ride. Now, normally I get very sad when an old GOOD ride gets replaced by something...but here's the thing: I was both sad that we lost BTTF but EXCITED for the Simpson's, since I grew up on that show and my dad and I always bonded over it, and I'm very close to my dad so that show has great sentimental value to me.
Well, you can imagine I was both excited and scared to ride this, I was so afraid it was going to be another shitty ride replacing an older, much better one. But I went on it with my family, and...damn, I fucking LOVED it! That became our go-to ride, we couldn't stop! That was also how we ended the trip, just rode the Simpson's ride til the park closed. I have to agree with you here, Tony: normally I'm VERY hesitant with rides getting replaced because I want a worthy successor to a classic and awesome ride, and I think the Simpson's was excellent! It felt familiar but also very new at the same time, and I was very glad to have gone on that. :)

Yeah And they should put a plot like this:
      Queue
The whole building is a Castle of the Council of ricks while the TVs show Fake ad commercials featuring the characters ( Since it can't show to kids some clips from a TV-14 rated show since Back to the future is rated B and The Simpsons are rated TV-PG) and A 2- Minute Scene explaining how Rick bought Krustyland and turned into a replica of the Castle from the Council of Ricks
      Preshow ( Rick's Lab )
Nelson appears on the TVs saying that Evil Morty is on loose and that they will be dead at the end, only for an angry Rick to show up and throw up Nelson outside of the building. After that Rick explains that Evil Morty is REALLY on the loose but that Sheriff Rick in protecting the place from Evil Morty, Rick then sends Morty for some Stuff he Needs.... However While getting that stuff, Morty gets kidnapped and trapped in the closet by Evil Morty and pretends to be Rick's Morty, As Evil Morty Does the same thing to Sheriff Rick and Rick explains to the riders that Evil Morty is actually His Original Morty, Evil Morty, Pretending to be Rick's Morty, Asks for going to the garage of the castle and when Ricks goes away to the garage, Evil Morty says to the riders that there's no place to be safe from him and nobody can stop him as he finishes with an evil laugh.
      Preshow 2 ( The castle's garage )
Rick explains his plans only for the real Morty to get ou of the closet and tell him that Evil Morty has tricked him, which Evil Morty then reveals himself, Hits one of Rick's assistants and Makes Rick and Morty get locked, Evil Morty then reveals his plan that is to Use Sideshow Bob's Evil Panda robot from The Simpsons Ride and Biff's Delorean from Back to the Future The Ride, combine them and use a huge Dark Matter Ball to control the universe by causing an evil space hole. As he escapes, Morty Reveals that he saved to vehicles, One for Him and Rick and one for the riders, As he uses the vehicles to Get out of the cage and move into the Lab Garage, Morty shows a half Live Action and with some Animated effects ,featuring Justin Roiland and Alex Hirsch, safety video.
      Ride
As The riders enter through their little Spaceship, Rick, Morty and The riders enter through a portal leading them to a Theme park where Evil Morty takes control of the rides and He tries to kill you,Rick and Morty, only to land in a Parody ride of It's a Small world where everything was fine until Evil Morty appears with a Robot Combinated with an evil Panda Robot and an Delorean and kidnaps Rick while the Riders and Morty crash on a Water ride where Morty love interest gives a GPS to Find Rick, As Morty and the Riders go through a Portal and pass Inside Evil Morty's Robot where Evil Morty and Morty fight and Morty saves Rick and pass as a circle though a portal into space where The Riders' Spaceship Hit Evil Morty and Morty destroys not only the robot, but the dark Matter ball as well, then The everyone falls through earth where Morty takes a picture for the riders to buy outside as he and Rick fighEvilil Morty only to crash in the Real Council of Ricks castle where Evil Morty gets sent to a mental Hospital along with a Squashed Sideshow Bob and a Crazy Biff, Which When the riders and Rick and Morty where about to fall, One of the council of ricks teleports the two and the riders back into Rick's Garage where Rick And Morty say goodbye as The riders exit and see in a TV showing a Evil Crazy Morty, a Squashed Sideshow Bob and a Crazy Biff as Morty says '' Not Really hurting him, just ruining the rest of his life, that's all. ''

Here's something interesting, while Universal teamed up with intellectual properties in theme parks, Disney teamed up with intellectual properties but in television. In the early 2000's when Disney acquired Fox Family Worldwide (the people that run Fox Kids), they made a block just for that called Jetix... until 2009.

I would totally love the idea of Universal doing Treehouse of Horror for their HHN events. I have that on my list of 'Should Be A HHN Maze' next to Twin Peaks (hey American Horror Story has had several, Twin Peaks would be a natural fit too), The House With A Clock In Its Walls, Goosebumps (not just the books but the two movies, and some episodes of the tv show, if they don't do it, Disney should because there's a new Goosebumps show coming on Disney Plus), Stephen King (they've done The Shining and It, but I'd love to see Misery or Pet Sematary or even the Stand get a maze/scarezone), Little Shop Of Horrors, Hellraiser (Freddy and Chucky got their turn, and I think Jason Voorhees has, i'm not sure), H.P Lovecraft (especially anything Cthuhulu/Innsmouth related), Nightbreed, Fright Night (1985), The Lost Boys (I know Vamp 85 sort of counts but a Lost Boys attraction/maze would be awesome), Gremlins, the Puppetmaster franchise, Rosemary's Baby, Brain Dead/Dead Alive, The Frighteners, Lair of The White Room among others.

Like every attraction is an interactive backlot of whatever medium it’s based on and we volunteer to be “stuntman” or background characters while the actual stars get into their typical shenanigans.
To be fair they still do have big E tickets based on their own franchises:
The Mummy, Jurassic Park/World, Fast and Furious, and … *sigh* Despicable me.
Still least ET remains from the original debut…for now…
*can already feel a BIG OL Target painted on its forehead*

I got a chance to ride it in Japan and I'll tell you this, even though it is a great ride, it was certainly very dated. It does shake your around, but the ride is slow and has dead spots, it was great for its time but might not be as impressive as you think. The Simpsons Ride is better

There was another dialogue change between Orlando and Hollywood. But for some reason the altered dialogue was removed and turned back to the Hollywood version a few years ago.
When the Simpsons goes off on the boat, in Hollywood Homer says "Maybe that exit sign leads to an exit! Marge, stay away from the ramp! Ah, I mean RAMPS!"
But in Orlando, Homer used to say "By the way, now I'm very wet! Marge, stay away from the ramp! Ah, okay this is no longer fun!"
Not sure what caused the change

I don't know why I haven't seen some of your other content already! Your reviews and humor are spot on! Personally as a theme park, I think Universal's lack of a true identity actually kind of works to it's benefit, offering a lot of variety. I'm a bit more of a ride junkie, and Universal tends to offer more thrill rides than Disney, though Disney's constant changing environment is now starting to work it's way over on me. I am still interested in the Kong extension they're doing to Islands of Adventure.

Not to "um, actually" this review, but it is funny that kids do watch the Universal channel now. Granted, the fact that "Universal Kids" is a channel baffles me considering it's not a strong brand name, and god knows how many kids actually watch cable at all... Honestly, nitpick #7 isn't really a nitpick to me. It's probably the one problem I have with the ride. Sideshow Bob and Bart as enemies may not be tne MOST iconic enemyship in animation, but it's still one of the most iconic relationships in the show. It's one of the reasons Bob's such an iconic reoccurring character. Cape Feare was about him trying to murder the kid alone, for crying out loud! And I'm okay with him wanting to kill the entire family, but I just wish he and Bart interacted a little bit more. The closest thing we get is:
Sideshow Bob: You foiled my plans for the last time.
Bart: You soiled your pants for the last time?! Hahaha!
And even then Bart would say that to anybody. It doesn't indicate he's "special". They probably just didn't want to confuse newcomers, but if they're going to go all out on the fanservice in other aspects, then why not include the most essential target of hate for the main villain? It'll be like if Statler and Waldorf stayed quiet during Fozzie's cheap 3D tricks in MuppetVision instead of saving the best heckles for him with Fozzie saying "oh no, not you guys!"
Rides still amazing and a great love letter to the series. That's just the one aspect that I feel would've made the autenticity be complete.
