Im looking to start flash photography, and this was a great video! I'm thinking of buying an AD100. I really value your knowledge. You are one of my top go to reviewers!
Glad it was helpful!
Man I love this channel. It's like I was just walking around town and wondering about how good X product is and then get home and put on TH-cam, and then:
Woah Oooooo, Dustin Abbot just reviewed it!
Good timing!
An excellent review, as always!! Please keep up the fantastic work, your work is an inspiration and your content has been a tremendous resource that has informed and educated me on my photography journey! Warmest regards from North Yorkshire, UK
Much appreciated!
A perfect review again
Man I love your videos ❤️
Glad you like them!
Just bought the ad100 for my Sony A7rii and it's brilliant. So small and light - it packs a punch, easy and fun to use. Your video helped me decide to buy it! Thanks again Dustin :)
It's a fun flash, for sure.
@@DustinAbbottTWI I bought two (on sale) and now I'm making my garage into a little studio!
Thanks for the heads up and review of this new unit! I have gone all Godox/Flashpoint for my flashes and strobes. One thing I notice though is that my V1 and v860ii have wildly differing color balances. (Have not compared to my ad600’s because I don’t tend to use them with flashes).
Anyway, when you are looking for what to review next please consider doing a light color comparison among the various strobes and flashes. These differences can be difficult to correct for when combined in a single photo.
Thank you.
That's a fair point. I tend to use the AD units more than the V1s since I almost exclusively use my flashes as slaves.
Nice review! I just purchased a two pack of these and an AD300 pro to get away from my TT600 setup. I use a lot of gels and accessories, so these make sense for fill/accent lights or tight spot creative lights. Also, being away from AA batteries will alleviate many headaches.
I think you'll enjoy them.
Ok Dad, she's going to start charging you a modeling fee. LOL Happy Easter.
She does like having all the professional photos for free, which isn't too bad of compensation. She has the best Instagram feed of all her friends...
Thanks, nice review. I got a 2d V1 for more versatility (in smaller rooms I can bounce the flash plus use off-camera ). I wonder if the ad100 is that much more noticible with 25% more power than the v1.
I've used a V1 and AD100 in a pair for work, and they seem to balance pretty well.
4:03 "charged within" does that mean that they support charging via USB? That would be great for travel.
I'm not aware of them being able to be charged in the flash, but their included charger is incredibly compact and USB-C powered, so you could charge via a memory bank or USB port.
Did you notice the green cost of the AD100 pro? It’s a very common issue and I’m thinking to buy one but this issue is bothering me a lot..
Green cost or green cast? I didn't encounter a green cast.
@@DustinAbbottTWI I’m sorry I meant the green cast it’s kind of a green tint, I’ve seen it on the Internet and a few TH-cam videos, they talk about it and how to fix it.
I didn't have that issue.
An advantage of a more-powerful flash (than this) would be extremely rapid recycle when run at extremely low power.
Fair enough.
My biggest beef with Godox remote system is that they have only five groups but 32 channels. I never need more than three channels but as I often use up to 14 lights on a set, I need more groups. Of course, once you get to about 5 lights it is the devil to remeber which light is on what group.
Wow - that's an insane amount of lights. I'd love to see what you're doing with that many lights.
Car fotography?
Basically a tiny AD200 at 1/2 of power
That’s fair.
Liked the chess table ! I am chess player
Cool. Glad you enjoyed it.
