Pretty convenient setup. Why not the 32 inch version? Thx.
Just got the 32 a couple of minutes ago. Looks amazing.
I just got the 24 smdv, its just so quick, light, im in love with it! I know its not cheap but i dont care 😅, its so good!!
I have the Angler 20" which is the exact thing. Hands down the 20" and ad100pro is the perfect setup.
Thanks for the input! It's good to have some choices because for some countries, it's quite hard to have SMDV products shipped.
Thank you very much for this video, its really helpful! But please can you write what light stand you have 🙏🙏🙏? Can’t find it
Phottix Padat carbon 198 around $139
Hello, thank you for sharing this amazing video with us all. This was a very informative video that seriously makes me want to purchase this whole system.
Hey man! Thank you for dropping a comment! You're going to love this whole system because it's just so compact and you can do so much with it despite being a solo shooter! Just be mindful of wind, this is still like any other softbox It can still be blown away haha.
SMDV does offer honey comb grid, not sure how it work, but they do sell it as combo or single unit
Hey, man! Actually I sent them a message and they gave me a honeycomb grid! It was accidentally removed from the box when they gave it to me! So I retract my statement of not being able to attach one! Thanks for bringing this up!
It has an attachable grid which also costs a lot.
Hey there thanks for dropping a comment! It's actually my mistake, The grid was actually included, the shop forgot to give it to me. But I did get it in the end!
Where is the link to buy it?
Excellent softbox, yes speed is of the essence if you're pressed for time! Question, my speedlights are rectangular, how do you attached a rectangular head?
Can you lock in the direction, or will you have to deal with this on a windy day. Looks like it just freely rotates.
Hey, Lukas! Thank you for asking such a good question! I was actually very skeptical about this before I bought it and I was blessed with an opportunity to try the product first at the shop before I got it and I'm happy to report that it doesn't really get blown away by the wind and of course the only thing keeping it from being blown away is the person handling the softbox or if you're using a light stand that might be the factor. Other than that the hinge for the softbox is pretty strong and it doesn't just rotate on its own.
Thank you 🙏 so much for the excellent review. You the best. Ty again.
Hey, Miguel! Thanks for dropping a comment! Please subscribe and talk to you again next time!
the stand for the strove is dope is it available also in rainbow in HK?
Question how do I know what trigger to use?
Hey there! It solely depends on what camera model you're using. For Godox they have different triggers but are labeled S, N and C, meaning Sony, Nikon and Canon. So make sure to grab the one that corresponds to your system
Thanks Mark, great video!
I have a Sony 45RM speedlight. Which SMDV Flip would work assuming that a bigger light is softer? It is the medium size Sony flash.
Where do you buy them? There is only one site that sells them in HK. The US site has sold out.
AD100 VS. AD200 I am looking for my 1st flash. For home and away and the same money almost 100 vs. 200?
Hey, Ryan! For home, the AD100 pro is strong enough since you don't have to fight any strong light sources like the sun, for outdoors, you could opt for the AD200 Pro, but if you shoot with tight focal lengths, then you can get away with the AD100 Pro by putting it as close as you can to the subject
Thanks
What was the lightstand Fotox 198? can't find them?
Phottix Padat carbon 198 around $139
hey i see you have a sony a7r iii, whats the flash thats connected to the camera? im looking to get the stand ad100 and the flash trigger u didnt mention i the video that works with my a7r iii
Thanks, this video convinced me.
I see flash relay on your hot shoe but what about on the light?
Thanks
Hey, Sam! Sorry, I don't understand, but what do you mean?
What triggers the flash?
I have a Phottix transmitter on my hotshoe and a receiver on my studio light. Maybe the Godox works differently.
This design has made obsolete all my other soft boxes. I am totally invested.
@@samhardy2038built in receiver
Where can I get one pls? Soft box
Hey there! So right now it isn't available on Amazon but you could buy it straight from their website smdv.co.kr/
@@markfriday i don't know if theyre out or not, but it doesn't give me any option to add in cart or buy.
Same as the Angler Fast Box
Except Angler copied it from SMDV. This design is originally SMDV's.
Thanks!
200 dollars for this tiny thing and it does not come with a grid is insulting to the customer honestly. A grid costs so little to add.
try Angler FastBox, 100 dollar, they are same factory.
Great video. I will buy one of this:)
Glad you liked it! Let me know when yours arrives! Also please subscribe!
I like the flip concept but am sick of the fleecing. If only consumers weren't so ready to waste money on every little thing!
200 bucks for that tiny thing? I guess im fine with not using softbox then
Yeah that’s mad money it’s just fabric and a bit of metal, the light itself barely costs more.
It’s a tool for professionals who need to travel light and work quickly. I bring two of the 32” Flip boxes to every wedding and they easily fit in the rolling case that I was already using. I am able to use soft light much more frequently than ever before in my career because of this ingenious design so they’re worth every penny to me. If you’re just shooting for fun and have all the time in the world, of if you’re a studio photographer that can leave your lights set up all the time, then it’s not really meant for you.
You don’t need a softbox but good photos need it.
Just buy a 10 usd umbrella
Thank you very much for this video, its really helpful! But please can you write what light stand you have 🙏🙏🙏? Can’t find it
Hey, Ekaterina! I just uploaded the link in the description! Thanks!
