    I like your review, especially your honesty around picking up your usual gear and suddenly finding that it doesn't fit - I totally understand because it's Godox and is the same brand that you already use..! I'm glad you left that in because it's such a useful lesson to include; it's a timely reminder to always test and check new gear before taking it on a paid shoot. Thanks for the behind scenes look at using the gels and underexposing to increase contrast. Your photos are gorgeous! The AD100Pro works well, I bought two to use as portrait lights and rim lights.

    The issue you are having is the way it is supposed to work. All groups fire every time unless turned off. Your AD100 needs to be set to the channel and group you want to adjust. Your AD100 was set on Group A and you were adjusting group B. If you want to be sure when you are using only 1 flash you can turn off the other groups. There was no malfunction in this operation. Remember you must set the group and channel on the AD100 and make sure that is the group you are adjusting on you trigger.

    I enjoy using the AD300Pro with the Godox mount softbox since it's very portable compared to using a Bowens mount softbox and I do have a AD100Pro coming in soon. It's too bad they didn't make a way for the AD-S85/65 to attach to the AD100Pro, but maybe it was a cost cut, the weight of the light couldn't carry the softbox weight or a design decision. I also wish there was also a way to use the AK-R1 kit on the AD300Pro. Would have been better if they could all work interchangeably.

    • @LyndahWells
      @LyndahWells  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great points. As I get to light with the AD100PRO more & more.im loving using the umbrella (sw130) for large soft light and the ak r1 kit for more direct light.

    Is the softbox designed to fit the Godox AD300 pro Godox brought out their own mount.

    • @LyndahWells
      @LyndahWells  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, The AD65 /85 softbox is a Godox proprietary mount. The S2 adaptor you see me holding is Bowens mount, therefore the 2 don't fit. BUT you CAN use an umbrella with the umbrella stand that comes with the AD100 or a softbox with BOWENS mount.

    Hey Lynda, the flash will still fire even if you are in another group, as long as you are on the same channel. You would need to turn off the group to keep it from firing. I’ve done the same thing 😊 and was wondering why the lighting remained the same even while I was changing the settings on the trigger. Easy mistake, and easy fix. Sending love 😊🙏🏾

  • @My2Drumsticks
    @My2Drumsticks 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think those flash use 2.4 to signal with. That’s the most common used signal, lots of devices are on that frequency. The amount of devices near Your location may cause the flash signal to “drop out”. You get the same problem with wireless mic, guitars etc.

    So great to see another video from you Lyndah! Your images from this shoot are awesome! I've thought about getting one of these little flashes, but having two AD200s already, I couldn't see the value in spending the money for something with less power. • @srb980
    @srb980 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you for the video. I really enjoyed it, you do very nice work. Regarding the trigger and the flash, what I have found is that you have to really make sure the flash and trigger settings are in sync. If the flash is on a different group other than what you selected and if that group is not turned off on the receiver it will still fire at whatever settings that group is set to. Just double check settings and turn off any groups on the trigger you’re not using

  • @indrajitadvani3742
    @indrajitadvani3742 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Lyndah. I love this video - it's the warts n all element that makes it so much closer to true OCF experiences than 99% of other videos on TH-cam. I can't believe that other photographers don't experience hiccoughs - perhaps they edit them out - which just means we viewers learn less. I guess a few questions 1) did you do much/any post-processing? It looks like your model has perfect skin! 2) you could have warmed up her skin in post instead of using CTO gels? 3) you have to tell either the trigger or the strobe that you're going to shoot HSS right? I think you don't need to do that with Profoto equipment (although who wants to pay 3x as much for Profoto) 4) What did the Magsphere do for you? 6) How did you create the great shot at 15:00 in the video? 5) I have AD300 Pro and am considering adding an AD100. Thank for pointing out the issues with softboxes etc but I think I would only use it barebulb 6) On the subject of the AD300 - I like it because you don't have to add a mount. However, there seems to be a very limited number of softboxes with the Godox mount, right? I'm looking for a strip box with a Godox mount. Know of one? 7) You sound like you're from England?
