Nice to see a good honest pro display of how it should be done, I'm tired of watching clowns in the U.S, I'm a body guy myself but I actually really enjoyed that display, breath of fresh air, I'm now subscribed 😊
Wow thanks I really appreciate it 👍 I have been away from painting cars for a while but am thinking of sort of podcasting my thoughts on the industry here in the UK.
@paulphillipspaintwork Hi realy nice job , what exactly spray guns did u used ? I jusd all glasurit pain line 90 color and clire coat and spray with iwatas LS 400 1.3 and WS 400 1.4 , sata 5000 1.3Rp , sata 5500x 1.3 HVLP
Good evening, that turned out magnificent. Was that finish as dust free as it appeared on the video? I do like your procedure for clean up. That is a very good idea to wipe the masking, really stops alot of dust. Thanks and take care. Good luck to you.
Hi Steve thanks for the kind words, there are always a few minor nibs but yes for the most part my jobs are really clean. I do try to spend extra time cleaning the car. An extra 5-10 mins in the booth could save 20-30 mins polishing. So that coupled with a nice paint finish (not much orange peel) really makes a big difference in the polishing and rebuild time on the cars.
It's never too late, Glasurit is probably 50% - 65%, you'll get full coverage on your 2nd coat so don't worry about the 1st coat. And another tip make sure to use their grey shade primer colours as it will help with "hiding"
Hi, apologies for the delay in replying. We were using 923-610 which is a great clear coat. I can't comment on the ones you have listed as I haven't used them. I'm currently using Standox
Nice work! With a voiceover, this video would be on par with the best paint channels. It is difficult to hear what you are saying when you are spraying.
Thanks David, I appreciate the feedback. I found really hard to get the sound quality in the right place for these videos. I find its easier for me to talk my way through the paint job rather than do a voice over but unfortunately the sound of the spray equipment will be picked up by the camera because of the nature of the job.
I had no problems hearing what you said Paul, sometimes when doing a voice over some key points that need saying can be forgotten plus it take a lot more work in editing.
@@kutlee2009 hi, we use the spectral camera provided to us by Glasurit as we are using their paint scheme. I would recommend using the camera that is aligned with your paint scheme and if you don't have a scheme most paint suppliers can offer camera matches if you can take them a small paint sample ie petrol flap.
@@irishgaminggenoratio No your compressor will be fine, screw compressors are designed to run all day long and fill your receiver tank quicker. At my home workshop I run a 3 hp 14.5 cfm 100ltr and this works great for small jobs.
When I worked here we only painted bmw's so our colourist had an edge to edge colour match so long as it was original paint. So we had no issues with matching it.

Champ shit!
I know I’m super late in this but what is the overlap percentage? My shop just switched from xalta and it sprays/covers completely different imo

Nice job! No blend?
No we have used the spectral camera and have this colour 99% edge to edge.
@@paulphillipspaintwork what camera is it ? Any brand you would suggest?

Please, how to mixed paint to have metalic?
Hi Freed, thanks for the suggestion I'll do a video on mixing paint and custom colours.
Psi??and 1.2 o 1.3?? Thnks from spain
Hey Roberto, I use 1.2 at 29 psi for lacquer and 1.3 at 27 psi for base.
b45 is one of the worst colours to match. confused as why you think it is an easy colour.??
