When discussing the legacy of Mayhem, most people agree that Dead and Euronymous were the heart and soul of the band and with the death of both of them the story of the band ended. But you gotta remember Necrobutcher is the only living member to witness the band's full rise and fall, he was there along with Euro even before Dead joined, and has memories of it all - a band which evolved from a teenage dream into the darkest and most ill-fated act in the history of metal. And don't forget it was fucking Hellhammer who made the final decision to release DMDS in it's final form, probably the only metal album to feature both a predator and his victim on its tracks. Now that's what I call dedication to the band's image. I think both Necro and Hellhammer have done great job to fulfill the band's legacy, and you gotta respect them as legit Mayhem members even though it will never be the same band anymore.
