I just brought a 2017 GT model a few weeks ago. I think the trans is bad in the Mirage because it seems like it has shift points which, in fact CVT doesn't have any. Come to found out the trans is made by the same company Nissan use. Others have told me to change the fluid. I don't think that would help, I'm just glad the car is still under warranty but the bad is the only Mitsubishi dealership is two hours away. I advise anyone with this car make sure you charge the trans at least 25k miles at a time, probably will save you from a headache..
The transmission is bad either by defect or by poor care/maintenance negligence (LOT of times it really this. Same can be said for Corolla, Accord, and such economy cars). Some owners don’t due diligence to their car because they believe Japanese, if not Asian, cars LAST FOREVER and take it for granted. The above is why it is crucial to get it checked out before buying used vehicle. Mines has the CVT and it runs great. If I drive HARD, it gonna need service sooner than later.
@@edgaryzen4925 I brought the car from a small dealership in Mississippi. I found the previous owner he said he did all the recommended maintenance, so I think it’s a defect at this point. The car only has 65k miles one owner, you live and you learn. I seen a video on here how to check to see if your CVT is bad, I will confirm that today and from here on out I will use that video on anything that has a CVT.
I know you did that road trip with your lady, have you used the cargo area much? Do you find it adequate? I'm just comparing different cars and I do like the idea of the mirage. I already drive a Yaris but doesn't get as good of mpg as the mirage. The cargo area is smaller. I think cause the mirage cargo area is low deep floor.

Not that I use my cargo area much unless it's for my bin full of car related junk lol. Thanks! Maybe do a video that is about everyday use or chores and how the Mirage holds up. Up to you. Thanks!
@@KhaiSoFly_Official Sweet! I'm famous! I'm gonna tell my mom! i just like to hear from real world owners more than reviewers. Reviewers help but real world is where it's at. As they live with the product.
Someone said it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. I often think about that driving in stop and go traffic going to work behind gas guzzling SUVs and sports cars. I bought a '24 LE Mirage. Watched a video the other day where he reviewed a Mirager from Youngers dealership in Hagerstown, MD. That dealership doubled Mitsubishi's powertrain warranty 20yrs/200k miles. They couldn't do that unless it was a very reliable car.. It's a nice relief at the pump compared to driving my F150. I was told the Mirage will go through MY '26
One thing to keep in mind with the power train warranty : make sure you do all of your routine maintenance including CVT service every 50k miles. Save every receipt. If you have a power train issue the dealer will ask for you to submit all of your maintenance receipts. Without proof that you've done all of your routine maintenance will void the power train warranty. Dealers know that most ppl don't save all their receipts and that will be the car owners problem and not the dealers .
My issue with the Mirage is that it offers significantly less than its rivals at a higher price. I would rather get a base-model Versa which has 1 more cylinder, just as parsimonious gas mileage, and is overall a better buy compared to the more expensive Mirage.
I was contemplating the Versa for my economy car purchase but I drove a 2017 Altima before and the transmission gave me a lot of trouble after only 50k miles. I ultimately decided not to go with Nissan again.
sick. i've heard mirages are pretty reliable anyways, it still seems like a decently solid car just a class below the rest of the competition.@@KhaiSoFly_Official
maybe if we're really lucky we'll get the mitsubishi EKcross EV or the nissan sakura in the US market. Totally different platform but as an EV kei car they feel kinda like a spiritual successor to the mitsubishi mirages of the world.
They’re not going to make it next year . Is because the Mirage is junk. I had one before. But it was a 2011. After a year. It was leaking transmission fluid. Mitsubishi is the worst Japanese car. And why is your navigation system is blinking? It shouldn’t be doing that.

Highly serviceable
I know you did that road trip with your lady, have you used the cargo area much? Do you find it adequate? I'm just comparing different cars and I do like the idea of the mirage. I already drive a Yaris but doesn't get as good of mpg as the mirage. The cargo area is smaller. I think cause the mirage cargo area is low deep floor.
the trunk space was good enough for our weekend trip. I normally like taking the mirage when we do a big grocery haul and instead of my BRZ
@@KhaiSoFly_Official okay good to know. I know obviously with seats down it's more but I'm also looking at the space with the seats up. Not that I use my cargo area much unless it's for my bin full of car related junk lol. Thanks! Maybe do a video that is about everyday use or chores and how the Mirage holds up. Up to you. Thanks!
@@rowsdower12 I’m actually doing a grocery video right now because of your previous comment! Thanks for the inspiration 🙏🏼
@@KhaiSoFly_Official Sweet! I'm famous! I'm gonna tell my mom! i just like to hear from real world owners more than reviewers. Reviewers help but real world is where it's at. As they live with the product.
Nice cars. Trim level looks great. Throw snow tires on it.
That's the plan! … unless we move somewhere snowless
Hi, hiw loud is the cabin noise? Especially the road noise on bad road
it’s pretty loud, but I blast music at ungodly levels so I don’t notice it at all 😂
It was a good video. I am cheap, so i am interested in this car. Is it worth $18 000 CAD ($13 500 USD)?
my wife and I bought ours for $19,000 USD brand new and we love it, so I think you’re getting a good deal if it’s new!
I was told the Mirage will go through MY '26
if they're in production to model year 2026 I'm definitely gonna buy one more so I don't gotta share this one with my wife 😂
@@KhaiSoFly_Officialthe BRZ is a treasure! Mirage will/should satisfy the BRZ more LOL! 😅🤠
@@edgaryzen4925 exactly!!!! I don't wanna put too many miles on my BRZ, its my baby 😂 the mirage is my mule
@@Crippledinvegas 50k? Insane
What makes it so good on snow if it's not all wheel drive?
The tires are thin, they slice through the snow
Why Americans don’t like small cars is kinda baffling. They’re so much fun! Hope you get the manual next time you buy another.
I’m not too your average American, that’s for sure!
Because everyone around you drives a f150
@@islami658 😂😂 facts
I wish Mitsubishi didn't drop the 5 speed stick.
Cool video! I have one as well. The ES model, wine red. Welcome to the cool 😎 club. Don’t listen to the naysayers. They’re just ignorant. 😅
gotta love it when they doubt us 😁
Install some winter tires on it and it will become a snow beast. Trust me I know.
next project for sure
I dont' optionalize stop signs. I notice you do.
😂
My issue with the Mirage is that it offers significantly less than its rivals at a higher price. I would rather get a base-model Versa which has 1 more cylinder, just as parsimonious gas mileage, and is overall a better buy compared to the more expensive Mirage.
I was contemplating the Versa for my economy car purchase but I drove a 2017 Altima before and the transmission gave me a lot of trouble after only 50k miles. I ultimately decided not to go with Nissan again.
@@KhaiSoFly_Official the Mirage uses a Jatco CVT.
@@gian3248Gotta service every 30k. Drain n refill.
@@gian3248 well, looks like I'll find out for myself 😂
sick. i've heard mirages are pretty reliable anyways, it still seems like a decently solid car just a class below the rest of the competition.@@KhaiSoFly_Official

It’s my camera’s frame rate. 192 😅😂
Get hybrid MPG in a more reliable gasoline car
I like your videos. But just a little to much in the way of cursing. But other than that great videos.
@@pugglepuggle thanks, and sorry I’m working on it 😅
How much?
We got it for 16k I believe
0-60mph in 12 seconds 😬💀
😅
maybe if we're really lucky we'll get the mitsubishi EKcross EV or the nissan sakura in the US market. Totally different platform but as an EV kei car they feel kinda like a spiritual successor to the mitsubishi mirages of the world.
I gotta look these cars up, I've never heard of them!
Are you from Marlborough ?
I'm from Boston but I just moved out to central MA! 😁
@@jackfrost99 we grabbed ours from Midstate Mitsubishi in Auburn!
Stop buying cvt mirage… manual one is way better
I only bought it once 🥲
No more manual mirage
Cvt ones are bad they use the same transmission as the Nissan they merged witch are known for problems
worst thing of a mirage, its noise, especially on highway... other than that, perfect cp
I tend to blast my music so I don't notice it anymore 😁
They’re not going to make it next year . Is because the Mirage is junk. I had one before. But it was a 2011. After a year. It was leaking transmission fluid. Mitsubishi is the worst Japanese car. And why is your navigation system is blinking? It shouldn’t be doing that.
sorry 🥲
