I love chicken and rice and this recipe looks great. Definitely marinate. It's worth it! One more pro tip, if I may be so bold, Do not pour the chicken from the bag into the mixing bowl directly. Instead take it out of the bag and dry it thoroughly with paper towels. It will do wonders for your sautéing! This is a must for just about any sautéed meat dish in the Instant pot or anything else.
Thank you for this recipe.. I didn’t have mushrooms, but it came out delicious.. when I opened the pot I added lemon. It was so delicious. I will be making this once a week

@blueshorecreative3146 great question! Kosher salt is a type of salt with larger, coarser grains than regular table salt, making it easy to handle and sprinkle evenly on food. It's called "kosher" because it's traditionally used in the process of koshering meat, which involves drawing out blood, but it's popular with all kinds of cooks for its pure, clean flavor and ease of use.
Just made this dish and it was yummy!! I didn’t salt it enough while cooking and even then, it was good. Just added more salt to taste when serving it up 👍🏼
Easily, stir fry the skin side first until nice and deep golden brown (about 10 min) then the other side for about 5-10 min. Then follow the rest of the recipe, the same way. Should come out just as delicious.
😁😁😁i had to come and tell you how this came out!! And tell you that that joke was actually a true story for me ! My mom used to put me to cook as little as 7 in Puerto Rico, so I told my brother to ask my mom to tell me how much rice to cook, and he told me 4 lbs instead of two cups and guess who made all that rice😁so when mom came home some of the rice was cook on bottom but the top it wasn't !lol... So my dad told her not to get mad at me but we ate rice for a week!! So there!! As far as the rice it turn out awesome! I didn't have mushrooms so I added bell peppers but it was just as good and the out perfectly.. Saving the recepy!!💌Shalom Shalom!!
I’ve been using the instant pot for 4+ years and have made tons of rice dishes but for some reason this one gave me the dreaded burn notice even with almost 3 times the called for liquid amount 😢 any ideas where I went wrong? The rice had absorbed most the liquid by the time I opened the lid so I added even more and then again, burned.
@@ImpossiblyKosher white jasmine rice. I scoured TH-cam for troubleshooting and I think where it may have gone wrong is I didn’t turn the sautee function off after I deglazed and added everything else. I think I should have turned off and let it cool down for about 5 minutes before moving to the next step. It struggled to come to pressure and by then most the liquid had evaporated. I kept adding more liquid and after the burn notice again I just hit cancel and kept the valve sealed and switched to “keep warm” so it pressurized on its own and give time for the rice to absorb the liquid and kept it like that for about 15-20 minutes and the meal was saved! Not exactly fluffy as it should have been but I think my own error. Flavor was good though! I will try this recipe again in the future and make the adjustments and come back to update to see if it fixes the issue. I thought worth sharing in case anybody else makes the same error.
2 options I can think of… 1. The silicon ring in the cover is ruined or not applied correctly to cause a seal. 2. The little pin is jammed and not pushing up. Water is definitely a possibility. I’d check the above and call the company.

Rinsing rice removes excess starch, preventing clumping and improving texture, while also cleaning away dust and debris. This results in fluffier, better-tasting rice.
This’ll be my first instant pot recipe. Looks fantastic! Do you know if it’s possible to add a can of beans to this during the final step? Or would it mess up the cooking process.
Great question! You’d need to adjust the times but yes for sure! I make it in a regular pot too. Instead of the pressure, I add the water to the rice with the seared chicken, then into the oven for 35-40 min
I just made this and added brocolli, red pepper, baby carrots and the fine green beans. It was delish! So morish, I will be adding more veg next time, there will def be a next time! ❤
Great question! I wouldn’t recommend a slow cooker as it is hard to get the rice to perfect texture without it being soggy. But a normal pot works great. in a normal pot once you get the rice to a boil one of 2 options: 1. Cover, lower heat to low, timer 17 min, then off heat still covered 20 min, enjoy! 2. Cover, in oven at 350 for 35 min.

Yes of course I always say to wash until clear water.

Rinsing rice removes excess starch, preventing clumping and improving texture, while also cleaning away dust and debris. This results in fluffier, better-tasting rice.

Absolutely :)

But a normal pot works great. in a normal pot once you get the rice to a boil one of 2 options:
1. Cover, lower heat to low, timer 17 min, then off heat still covered 20 min, enjoy!
