Made the Cajun sausage and rice last night. Seared 3 chicken drumsticks first and cooked them on top for the pressure cooking part and then shredded them up at the end. Also added a can of diced tomatoes to make it more of a jambalaya. Turned out even better than I thought it would and got three very large meals out of it
works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
Thank you for the tasty recipes. I just made the Teriyaki chicken recipe and we loved it! I used frozen broccoli florets and they turned out to be too big to warm all the way through. Next time I'll chop them up a bit. Take care and thanks for all you do for your viewers. ☺️
Lisa, Love these easy and super fast recipes for the IP. Now there really is no excuse for letting time get in the way of a healthy meal. Sometimes I even put in Rice, broth, spices, frozen chicken and frozen veggies (on the steam rack) in the I, set the timer and run out the door. Come home hours later to a hot and completely ready to eat meal. Thanks for your wonderful recipe ideas and your delightful Presentation.
Made the Chicken Teriyaki for lunch this afternoon. It was very good. Only change I would make is to slightly thaw the vegetables before adding. Mine needed about 25-30 mins on warm before they heated thru. I used the WalMart brand of Asian vegetables. Next time gonna throw in some Water Chestnuts for crunch. Lastly, I added a bit of sesame oil to each plate for flavor. Yum!!!
Really love Lisa's clarity and concise directions. I've had my Instant Pot for years, but I still revisit other's youtube videos for meal inspiration and tips...Tried Tested and True, Pressure Luck Cooking and Six Sisters Stuff iPot meals are currently my go to's. Company's coming and after the nasty C, all they wanna eat is chicken and rice...LOL, perfect timing!!!! :D
I finally broke down and got an Instant Pot... A while back... Now, I will finally break down and open it! These look awesome, cajun sausage and rice is one of our fav comfort foods, so it's 1st!🕊️ I've watched your advice "don'ts" vid, etc. And think I'm ready, all thanks to you!🙌🤗🥰🌹🌹🌹 💖🌺🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🌺💖
These all sound like awesome ideas for sure, and a great way to use rice and chicken. Best part is, these are all simple enough that if we so desire, we can tweak these recipes and make them our own. Videos like this are always appreciated. Thank you.
You are a wonderful teacher!💕I bought an instant pot on sale 2 years ago and it’s still in the box because actually using it intimidated me until watching your video! I’m excited to give these dinners a try! Thank you SO much!
I’ve been known to watch cooking shows on TH-cam for hours… sometimes aaaALLLL night… yes… I know, that’s a lot. What can I say…? I’m obsessed!! In watching all those shows I’ve seen a lot of people trying to demonstrate their cooking skills and she’s the one I enjoy the most. Her recipes and cooking knowledge is “up there”. And how to use the Instant Pot? The right way? OMG, she covers it all. I haven’t owned my Instant Pot for long and wasn’t using it very much when I first bought it home. But by watching and listening to Lisa… that's over. Today I’m comfortable in the kitchen with no fear of making serious mistakes when I use my Instant pot, thanks to Lisa. So, even if you already own a instant Pot or you’re thinking about getting one. (you should by the way, they're great!) Do yourself a favor, sit down and watch a few episodes of Tried Tested and True. If you're not sure which ones to watch… watch the ones for beginners. She explains EVERYTHING and DOESN’T MISS A BEAT. I’m sure that even those who consider themselves a Instant Pot Pros are going to learn something. And that’ll help to make you feel better about cooking dinner tonight. I know I will. And don’t forget to Like and Subscribe!!! Her shows deserve it.
I recently got the instant pot duo. And I'm still learning how to use it. I still get confused on how to use it. But I love these recipes and I'm going to try them out!
I love the Cajun chicken and rice; I’ve made it a couple of times! It’s evolved to me adding six eggs while it’s sautéing, replacing the rice with a cup of quinoa and while after it’s vented for a while adding two handfuls of baby spinach and covering again. So hearty and delicious, thank you so much for these recipes!
Cooked the teriyaki chicken with additional chicken but kept the Rice to Stock ratio to 1:1 .I used with cup of Basmati Rice and I cup of chicken stock and cooked on High for 5 minutes,it was perfect. Thanks!
Just made the Cajun Sausage & Rice one... my goodness!! That was deeelicious!!! 😋 My family and I loved that one, and will definitely make that dish again and again. 👍👍
I made the Chicken Teriyaki Stir-Fry and my wife ABSOLUTELY loved it, (the vegetables needed ten minutes to warm up, but who's counting). I also tried the last recipe, but used Italian bread crumbs instead of Ritz crackers, and it wasn't bad, but will try again with the Ritz, and I'm sure it will be a game changer.😁
You are so beautiful and very simple in explaining the recipes certainly will try these, i have made a few rice recipes which have landed me in hot waters with my seniors they just can't get enough and was very surprised it was made in the instant pot. Will share one of them with you in due time.😊❤ thank you for sharing, God bless you.
(1st recipe) What should I do if I want to make a double serving size? With 2cups of rice, do the amount of broth and teriyaki sauce should be doubled, too?
I'm curious if the cooking time would change too. I've found that despite the Instant Pot literature claiming that amount/quantity of food doesn't change cook time with pressure cooking, a larger chicken does indeed take 5 minutes longer to pressure cook than an average chicken. I'd be worried I'd over or undercook one of these recipes if I tried doubling them. If anyone doubles the recipe in an 8qt pot, let us know the cook times.
Made the teriyaki one three times so far… So good and so happy I can find gluten-free teriyaki to use! It was delicious! Now on to the next one. Thanks Lisa… You make cooking enjoyable. 😆
The second one is a different take on jambalaya. I use 1 can of diced tomatoes and green chiles and 1 lg can of diced tomatoes (blended and pureed together 1st) then add water to it to equal however much rice you're cooking when I do it on the stove. However I make big batches since it's a family favorite recipe from my cajun grandmother.
Hi, I made the first recipe with chicken and teriyaki sauce, it was delicious ! The only thing was that I put the frozen vegetables and they needed longer time , just other few minutes, but that was no problem, the dish was vereeyyy YUUUMMMMYYYYY! THANKS!
I made the sausage and rice one tonight it was delicious. Cajun Chicken sausages are hard to come by in Australia, I used some Kabanas, which came out delicious.
You are a gem! I'm making the garlic lemon chicken rice tonight, but I'm obsessed with planning the Ritz one and surprising my friends with it - looks yum!
What’s a 10 minute natural pressure release? Is that when it says L one and then L2 and then L3? Or is it 10 minutes after you let the pressure out when you change the knob and the steam comes out? Thank you.
I'm new to using an instant pot, and I was wondering what's the best way to reheat these dishes? Can I leave the food inside the liner and reheat the food in saute mode? Thank you so much for your help!
I just subbed! I loved this video, you were quick to the point, 4 recipes in no time hardly and all of them sound good. I also like your happy personality, thankyou very much!!! ♥️🥰👍
Great job on your videos-flavorful recipes and you get right to the point without a lot of extra blather, lol. The butter, sautéing, spices and juices add so much great flavor many modern recipes miss. Thank you! Any plans for an air fryer (not just the lid) channel? 🙋♀️
All it is, is letting the pressure come down naturally. Once your 5-min cook time is done, the pressure will start to come down. Don't touch the lever/switch that releases steam, especially for rice because it's a starchy thing, and starchy steam can clog things up if you release the pressure too fast. Hope this helps. Lisa explains a lot of this stuff in her Instant Pot 101 videos. And she explains it well. 😁😁
Girrrrl I made the Cajun sausage and rice dish and it is one of my favorites! It was something new and different for me. I will be trying the teriyaki one for this week's meal prep.
Thank you. I may give some of them a try. I'm literally watching this video while eating spaghetti and meat sauce that I just made in my 2Qt Instant Pot. :) I do have a question: I noticed the rise you poured in was dry. Does that mean you do not wash your rice before hand or does it come pre-washed?
Olive Garden is an Italian restaurant chain here. An alternative would be a good Italian dressing. I like Ken’s Italian dressing but whatever brand is available is good.
Hi Lisa, can you recommend something that can be cooked all at once, i.e. No frying or sauting at the start, juat out everything at once, start the cooker and comeback to ready food, any help on that?
Hey what do you mean by cook for 5 minutes with a natural 10 minute pressure release? cook for 5 minutes then open the pressure valve for 10 minutes before taking off the lid?
Yummy! Sharing/sending this via text to my cell phone!! Just bought a instant pot pro plus and in need of recipes and specific instructions as I have never used a pressure cooker. Thanks for sharing.
I can’t wait to try these. You really make the best videos and very doable! I made your key lime ramekins for me and my boyfriend a lot and we love them!

I have off brand instant pot, but how do you know which lid to buy? If I don't have air fryer lid, how can how do I handle the part with crackers, put in ove 350 15 mins w sour cream and soup, or do that all in pot and then just to brown crackers ontop of rice and stuff put in oven?

Same happened to me! Frozen veggies too big for just 5 min. I read your comment a bit late.
Aye, that's what I would most likely do is chop them smaller so they blend better throughout.
Making the Lemon Garlic and Rice Chicken dish. Looks scrumptious!
I had no idea you could cook chicken and rice together at the same time in the pot, this is a game changer!!
@@myaccount9257 You're just used to seeing dry shitty chicken covered in dollar store powdered spices...
@@myaccount9257 ermahgahd sounding ass. Feeling a bit schilly on a chuesday eh?

Just made the lemon garlic chicken recipe ! So delicious! My first Instant Pot recipe came out great! Thank you!
Not sure why mine kept giving me a "burn" message. It kept burning at the bottom of the pot. Why????
@Charlene Rabanal that usually happens to me if something is sticking to the bottom of the pot. Did you deglaze the pan after sautéing?

Hi Lisa, I am in Australia and have never heard of Olive Garden Dressing. What would be an alternative? Love your videos!
Your favorite creamy Italian would be perfect! 😃
I love the Olive Garden dressing and you can get it at Costco or through Amazon prime
Olive Garden is an Italian restaurant chain here. An alternative would be a good Italian dressing. I like Ken’s Italian dressing but whatever brand is available is good.
Done the 1st and last one, love them both and a go to for not only yourself but friends.
what would be a good substitute for olive garden dressing?
Like your presentation and easy to follow recipes, will try these.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!

Once the chicken is done do you do a quick release or natural on the teriyaki recipe?
Hi Lisa, can you recommend something that can be cooked all at once, i.e. No frying or sauting at the start, juat out everything at once, start the cooker and comeback to ready food, any help on that?
I like to use brown rice. Do I need to cook that a little longer?
I made the first one thank you so much it was delicious
(Teriyaki chicken recipe) hi can I get the measurements to double the recipe?? Thank you
Great video. I was looking for alternative ideas coincidentally.
thanks for watching!!
Can you use riced cauliflower instead of rice? Or maybe half rice and half riced cauliflower
For the ritz and chicken, would it work with 2 cups of rice and how long would the time be?
I made the cajin rice dish and added a can of red beans and man it's the best
Great Idea, I will add those to mine as well! :)
Hey what do you mean by cook for 5 minutes with a natural 10 minute pressure release? cook for 5 minutes then open the pressure valve for 10 minutes before taking off the lid?

What adjustments do I need to make if I want to use brown rice instead?
Suggestion, make the lemon chicken recipe with shrimp instead. You'd just have to adjust cooking time for the shrimp. Or add them at the end. Then you'd have Shrimp Scampi con Orroz.
what do you mean by to adjust 5mins with a 10 minute natural?
Your very kind. Im cooking by myself. My insta pot it my go to. Im doing the chicken and rice. Smess amazing 😊
I love your videos they are easy to follow and very well explained with plenty of safety reminders. A +++++++

I have off brand instant pot, but how do you know which lid to buy? If I don't have air fryer lid, how can how do I handle the part with crackers, put in ove 350 15 mins w sour cream and soup, or do that all in pot and then just to brown crackers ontop of rice and stuff put in oven?
