When you say "they don't make nothing good anymore", you should include yourself in that and add that you never did.

Hi I'm from The Netherlands. Can you explain what the difference is between this country music, and modern country? Why isnt it good nowadays?? Thanks.
First time I heard it was driving to work at the wonderful time of 3:30 in the morning. DJ said here's a new one from John Anderson. I kinda laughed thinking back to "Swangin'" and thinking what this time. The song came on and within 5 seconds I was like.... WHOA WHOA, what is THIS? Did some checking at Record Bar and found out I had completely whiffed on Seminole Wind. Bought the CD on sight.
So do I. I think in later years, the title song, "Seminole Wind" became the defining, signature song of Anderson's career, but back then, "Straight Tequila Night" was the big hit.
Instead of these guys all copying each other about lifted trucks, chicks, dirt roads and beer. Gay. They also try to copy rap/RMB music too much and talk in half the song instead of actually singing. New Country blows my balls.
In my opinion John is the most underrated under appreciated country star there is. A true legend. Maybe the greatest voice in country music history. A great vocalist, musician, songwriter.
Picture this eating supper in a smaller size BBQ restaurant in Joplin, Mo. One weekend. It had a dance floor, we noticed a band setting up to play, as we drank another Bud, no cover change. As the band warmed up in walks the man, John Anderson and they played, he sang , Straight Tequila Night, it was number one on the country charts that week, you bet my wife and I danced to it , right in front of John, i could have and should have shook his hand, no shit. I told my wife something like this will never happen again. Thanks for the memories, John
We went and saw John perform years later at Buffalo Run casino, Miami, Okla. Still great. Love to see him again, sometime soon, we are not getting any younger. Lol.
Straight meth, molly, and robitussin dm mixed with grain alcohol and ginger ale.... What are we doing here? Fucking girl drinks? If you don't party like this you should just go to your church ice cream social and leave the night to the wolves. Tear in your beer ass fuckboyz.

When I first heard this country classic on the radio in December 1991, I nodded my head and said to myself "this is definitely going to be a#1 Billboard country smash for John Anderson, while pointed to the radio dial. "Straight Tequila Night" indeed went #1 for John Anderson in March of 1992 and ended up with three chart toppers that year, plus two more afterwards; one in 1993 "Money In The Bank" and "I've Got It Made" in March 1994. John Anderson is now in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

1992 John Anderson made a huge comeback with this song and the Seminole Wind album, I remember like it was yesterday!
