it's nice meeting you here
I love this song too!
Driving home through South Dakota with all the beautiful scenery around me. This song came on and fit that moment perfectly.
Country Music as it should be. Back in the day.
We need more Dwight nowadays and less whatever the country music is today
Agreed...
True
Country, today, is obamas, clintons etc...
Yes i agree with you baby doll
I AGREE COUNTRY MUSIC LIKE DWIGHT YOAKAM WAS DONE BECAUSE HE LOVED SINGING IT HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SINGING HIS MUSIC EVEN IF HE NEVER WOULD HAVE BECOME FAMOUS
Dwight isn't just a great singer but also a great actor. He was an incredibly believable monster in "Sling Blade." A flawless interpretation of an abusive alcoholic, worthy of an Oscar.
Same in “Panic Room”
@@insideoutsideupsidedown2218I really love his songs that' mic
We don't need to FUCKIN practice, RANDY!
Dont forget Doc Miles in Crank and Crank 2. Oh, and a small roll in the beginning of Wedding Crashers.
Cry Macho....great acting with rooster boi and Clint Eastwood and Eduardo Minett
who’s 21 and still loves the bakersfield beat
Country Music on its best. When Country was Country and when the music was genuine. Miss those times.
I like Dwight Yokem's whole sound. From his voice to the drums. Everything.

He was good in SlingBlade also ,what a voice another of a dyin breed ,I think God is partial to Country Music ,let's hope he hangs out a while with us.

@@dwightyoakam669 Yes, and as the switch is thrown, his journey through nowhere only deepens.
@Dwight yoakam you have great balance to be on a train like that
All time classic, still going strong
I don’t listen to a lot of country music but this song is extraordinary.
Saw him open up for Pearl Jam and he had studs that sparkles and shined from head to toe. He’s pretty much a bad ass
John Stamos wow what a show lineup
That must have been an awesome show!!!!
Saw him last night- still rockin those studs and that beautiful big hat!
Wow
Wow...I think I'd leave after Dwight. No way he should open for those stiffs.

Dwight Yoakam is the Tom Petty of country!
An apt observation.
I see it! Lol, just 5 minutes ago I was listening to "fast as you" and I thought to myself "sounds like if Kurt Cobain was a country artist" 😄
I am sure we can make all kinds of connections even jumping across genres
How right you are....
im quite sure you meant that as a compliment but tom petty?? really
@@davepenprase I absolutely ment it as a compliment!
Dwight yoakam restored my faith in the goodness of country folk and country music.
This song is timeless!!!! It plays regularly in rotation on my playlist. These days with a little different meaning to me than when it was released. In the day it would bring my dad out on the open road to my mind. These days he is a little farther away. Lost him in 5 days to Covid. Love everything Dwight.
Never been much of a country music fan like some of the older stuff! Love this! 🥰
Smiles
I'll be listening in 2099...time don't matter to Me.

As a long haul truck driver I downloaded this to play when i have no cell signal. Im a thousand miles from no where! Its a empty feeling
It's the best feeling.
Thank you. Without truckers we're nowhere.
Been there in Alaska
I know what you mean . Think about it this way . When its you . The moon . The truck . And the highway . Thats all you need . When something grabs you like this does . Thats when the magic happens .
One of the great Buddha's teachings is don't get attached because it's pain when you get unattached...fun facts..
66 and loving it!
I dare say, this is the best country song ever recorded. I can't imagine how it could possibly be better...

My beautiful friend from Atlanta made a cassette for me years ago, 90's, because i told her "the only 2 types of music i dont like are Country & Western" [note: Hee Haw was the only thing to watch on TV in the late 60's Sat night, yuk!] until i heard this I'd never, EVER, been a fan of C&W but this song flipped me. Soooo pretty, nice work Dwight.
I sang Dixie is pretty great also check out the one with Buck Owens intro
