    The western media under reports the sheer numbers of Bangkok, besides the most visited city in the world, It has 147 five star hotels, New York 59, London 75, Dubai 61, highest number of flyovers in the world 700+, longest elevated expressway in the world BangNa expressway 34 miles, not even Chinese cities have these numbers, Bangkok is HUGE

    • @TheBodiesInTheWaterBeckons
      @TheBodiesInTheWaterBeckons 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      The numbers of Flyovers and Expressways also made Krungthep not a walkable city, which is not a good thing. I don't want to sound progressive, cause i'm not and it doesn't look good to be seen as a progressive these days, but i am when it come to infrastructures. Krungthep is also not stopping in building car infrastructure that will further make Krungthep unwalkable. The new expressway being built near the K Bank HQ is now becoming a double decker that will make all the neighborhood along the expressway even more unwalkable. While they also extending the rail infrastructure, i hope that they would slow down the car infrastructure and allocate those huge amount of fund to rail instead.

      Western media is afraid to tell the truth, millions of retired people would love to relocate to a beautiful city with lower costs than the decaying cities of ‘Merica.

    Love the videos Adam. Showing all the different ways of living in BKK as an expat is a real breath of fresh air. Too many other youtubers just focus on the hustle and bustle of central areas like Silom & Sathon, forgetting about the character of the remaining 95% of bangkok!
    Been running a d2c supplement company for the past two years and I'm looking at jumping ship and moving to bangkok in the next year to escape the cold. You and Chris have been a major influence in that decision!
    Keep up the good work. Absolutely love the videos 💯💯

    Very inspirational discussion on many levels Adam and Randy. Adam kudos on getting a true business started with a work permit and all in Thailand. With 40 years in the hospitality industry, your experience as a much-needed, good videographer grabbed my attention, so cool to carve out that niche for an American in Thailand. Great interview!

  • @Wabbit1961
    @Wabbit1961 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    His children will be Thai nationals because he's married to a Thai national. My Thai wife went to public schools, learned English and German. Her son the same thing. I think your guest doesn't know the quality of the actual free Thai education.
    WTF are English programs??!! Sounds like he wants to separate himself selectively from the culture he says he immerses himself in.
    By the way, his WIFE owns the house. He is merely the guarantor for the loan. He would have to become a Thai citizen to buy property in Thailand. I doubt he will. As much as he says he loves it there, I think this is a pitstop in his life.
    He promoted his video and export business for free on your channel. He says he's freelance which means he is scratching around for work.
    He's been there 10 years?! He doesn't speak Thai??!! To smell the bullshit yet?
    He's basically correct about the marriage visa. But retirees can prove 40,000thb a month income with social security retirement benefit and that also works. He can't use that since he's not old. If he were single he would have to show 800,000 thb in the bank for at least two years. He got married and cut his dues in half.
    He's a hustler. Sorry you didn't see that.

    • @DayintheLifestories
      @DayintheLifestories 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I don't know much about the Thai schooling or English programs, just that many of my friends struggle with the prices of putting their kids in schools here. Something I will research more when the time comes.
      We do not own our house, we rent it. I understand my wife would own it, if we were to buy.
      Yes I promoted my new youtube channel here, I hope to shift into this work over the hotels if I can make it work. I really enjoy making those type of videos. The Tanoa business Im sure no one watching this will buy one or even know what it is lol.
      Yea, I am trying to learn Thai, getting better, but still learning.
      Thanks for watching, not sure what about my story makes you upset.

    • @griffo83
      @griffo83 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well I want the 10 seconds it took to read that back. Really not sure what your point is with any of your rant.
      So he wants to give his potential future children the best education he can, nothing wrong with that, I think most people would feel the same, and anyway, what business is it of ours ?
      Doesn't own the house ? Pfft, there are a huge number of long-term expats in Thailand that don't own their own house. In fact, if you spend some time around the various western expat forums, the vocal majority advise steering clear and owning a property (and renting it out) in their own country, and renting locally in Thailand. I have my own opinions on this, but each to their own.
      He promoted his business ? So what, and why not use the platform, he was brave (or foolhardy, depending on your outlook) enough to get on-camera and share his story, why not get some minor benefit out of it.
      Not knowing thai fluently ? Sure, because every expat in Thailand is an expert in Thai after an arbitrary number of years. Wrong. Hell the previous guy on this very channel advertised the fact that he *is actively learning* and still got slammed for it. And part of that was a ad for the Thai Language Challenge site.

I said we because it means most people in Thailand. It's not good for us from what already happened. It should be understandable it effect every aspect of Thailand if we have too many foreigners move in. We have been talking in every community. Yes we welcome tourists but please don't move to Thailand.
