    Picked up this ball a few weeks ago as a step down from my Jackal Ghost as a strong benchmark ball and a gap between the Ghost and my other balls and it is a very strong but controllable ball. In fact I am able to use it more than my Ghost on most THS as it is very predictable and responds slower to friction than the Ghost. I can see this ball being very versatile on many patterns and conditions.

      I can’t argue with you there. I still have one in the bag, albeit my second. Thing is when balls first come out, it’s hard to give a clear indicator of value since that bears out over time. Suffice it to say the p2 way surpassed anyone’s expectations.

    Hey Tamer, I know this is an old review, but what do you think about this vs Hammer Sauce? The Sauce is my house benchmark, but it’s extremely limited in scope on sport patterns. Does it cover the same boards but shapes up more in the back? Curious what you think

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Curtis Lenox phaze ii is one of the best solid stronger benchmark balls on the market. It’s proven itself for a long time. The biggest difference that I can recall is the sauce being much more forward off the end of the pattern. That tends to limit how much left to right adjustments you as a bowler can make.

    Question about the phaze 2. Why do I see high rev players playing far inside for balls such as the hyroad and idol pearl but then move right when using the phaze 2? (For right handers)On the same lane. If the phaze is stronger shouldn’t it force you the opposite way?

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tiffany St. James that is a very good question. The phaze 2 is meant for a little higher volumes. When the volumes are higher, you really don’t want to open up your angles that much or the ball will not make it back. On the other hand lower volumes tend to force higher rev players in to find more oil. But if you uses a ball like the phaze 2, it will carry less. Why? Energy retention. Shiny pearl balls store a lot of energy so when it hits the dry boards it turns more violently. Something with a strong cover is bleeding energy due to friction. So even if it can make it back it loses too much energy by the time it gets to the pins. It’s about using the right ball at the right time.

    • @tiffanymyers8296
      @tiffanymyers8296 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      TamerBowling ok I understand. I was a little confused by this because I’m a no thumb bowler with lower speed. (14.5mph) on the house monitor. And I have an og hyroad and an iq tour. The hyroad I gotta get way in and still hits brooklyn or worse splits because of how much it moves on the back.But my iq I can move right and it’s smooth on the back end and hits pocket. Now I understand why thanks a lot for the reply.

    HELP?? im a lefty also. i just got a hyroad nano a week ago and i bowl the same angle as you do; but i throw slow between 12-14 mph and a slower rev rate. it works amazing with a med-light oil pattern but anything heavier than that i just cant throw it consistently. i want a stronger ball for heavy oil is this it? for my hy road on heavy oil or (house shot) i have to throw straight close to the first arrow which is difficult for me because i prefer throwing out over the third arrow standing far right

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      evan bowling sounds like you need to consider a heavier oil ball. Something like the Halo, Crux Prime, or Sure Lock should give you a better look.

    I’m looking for a symmetric solid and deciding between the phaze 2 or the idol. Which do you prefer over the two?

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. I have to say Phaze 2. Idol feels like a jack of all trades. Phaze 2 can be a master at times. They roll very differently. Phaze 2 almost rolls like an asym initially. Idol is very rounded and smooth.

    Im interested in this ball. I just got the phaze 2. For some reason keep hitting it through the head head pin no matter how much angle I get. I throw the ball slow at round 13-14mph. I feel like the phaze 2 has to much grip on the lane and I cant get enough on it to get it down the lane before it wants to grip/hook. Should I consider a pearl ball instead of the phaze 2? thanks love the content.

      petros mikalef phaze ii is stronger and more defined responsiveness downlane. Torrent is earlier rolling and smoother.

    What is this similar to or compare to with all the new balls today i.e. code x, drive, soniq, hyroad nano etc.

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, the Phaze II rolls quite different than the rest of the balls, hence why it is still in the lineup. Maybe if you compare with the Code X, might cover similar boards, but the Phaze II is earlier rolling with a more setting type of roll. If you watch the 2 videos, it should be very clear. I also found it stronger than the Drive with similar midlane control but with more continuation. Hyroad Nano is a bit more even front to back.

    • @benlaser6417
      @benlaser6417 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex Balok you really cant compare it to the snaplock (i do have both). The snaplock was made for being a high performance ball, while the phaze 2 was made as a upper-mid performance. Also, the snaplock is polished while the phaze 2 is matte, so thats another reason why you cant really compare them.
