  • Watch 5 style bowlers test the new Storm Timeless. Tamer Elbaga (Lefty Tweener), Greg Bickta (Righty Cranker), Dave Staboleski (Righty Stroker), Guy Porr (Righty High Rev), and Antonio Reyes (Two-Hander) test the Timeless on a medium 41ft THS.
    Thanks to Greg Bickta of Perfect Aim Pro Shop, Reading PA for drilling all our test equipment.
    Thanks to Limerick Bowl, Limerick PA for fresh lanes.

    I like the extras section at the end. Doesn't make it seem like if you buy the ball you'll get all strikes haha, good to see some off target shots and how it reacts

      The "Extras" are the best shots really. What you want in a purchasing preview is, what does the shape look like when it's "on" and what do misses look like.

    Just a review from the future: I have a high rev rate and I have a short pin layout on this ball and it's a beautiful thing. I took the polish off and I can still play nearly the same line as I can with urethane. It responds well to hand adjustments and is perfect for playing straight on most lanes, but is especially good for opening up on really dry lanes. It's probably going to be a permanent part of my bag.

    Yeah, nothing hits like a hammer..... Until now.....
    One of the guys I bowl league with threw the timless this past week, first shot out of the gate he blew the 4 over the 7 (righty) then sheeted it for 290 and each shot pounded like a sledgehammer. There will be one waiting for me at the pro shop this week!

    Nice video, good to see a variety of different bowlers rolling it using different lines and angles,even if the last 2 bowlers shots were very similar. Very strong ball,seems to blast thru this pocket with little to no deflection. Reminds me a lot of the Code Black with a little less snap and angle and more of a sweeping motion. Definitely a little cleaner thru the midlanes as well. I can understand your complaints about wishing it were a little weaker but this ball isn't designed to be weak,its clearly designed with higher rev bowlers in mind,I mean the most powerful PBA bowler endorses the ball lol. Anyways I can understand what you're saying but not exactly sure that should warrant a lower review score. Maybe a slightly less aggressive drilling pattern may counter this?? I'm looking for something that reads a little earlier than my Alpha Crux Pearl and Daredevil,didn't really like the Code Black, this may be exactly the ball I need!

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for checking it out! We certainly didn't give it a low score nor did we lower it because it was "too strong". It was just a wish based on what Storm described the ball to be, taking queues from the IQ Tour and Hy-Road. Neither were this strong. Otherwise, I think it is a usable shape. If you are looking for earlier than the Alpha (not sure if you meant Alpha Crux or Crux Pearl) and Dare Devil, sure you could consider this if you take the polish down...or take a look at the Dare Devil Trick. We will be testing that as soon as we get our hands on it.

    Interesting, everyone is saying how strong the ball is. I've thrown 3 different ones and in two instances it labored in the backend. And it looks pretty sketchy on TV. Guess it goes to show lane conditions are very different everywhere.

    • @23hunter152
      @23hunter152 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marcus Cheung I agree. For me, it doesn’t nearly have the amount of hook as advertised and labors. When it’s on, it’s great, but very temperamental. Just recently got the Black Widow Gold, better results from it and is strong.

  • @igoramaral95
    @igoramaral95 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    This ball indeed has a great shape. I love to get a super strong solid and use it with full ballspeed and almost no hand but when it's type to open up, this type of shape is perfect because it allows me to put more hand, slow down and still without seeing a reaction that would be too snappy for some type of patterns. Although, it seems to hook too much for me. Even my hyroad tends to be a little more than I would like sometimes so this ball wouldn't fit for me. But I still think Storm is doing the right thing. The hyroad was VERY strong when it came out too and that's the reason it kept going with the massive increase of volumes over the years. I indeed expect the timeless to be the second hyroad.

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree, the HyRoad was pretty strong out of the box as well. I don't think this strong but still. That's why I liked my HyRoad so much more after about 50 games on it. It just tamed down and became an amazing benchmark ball for me. I would love for that to happen with this ball but I rarely get 50 games on anything these days :-)

    • @iakdave4173

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Jaggers you can go to the pro shop or buy yourself some abralon pads. You can find those online and buy a pack with 4000, 3000, 2000, 1500, 1000, 500. 4000 will be the lease aggressive. Start by scuffing it up by hand lightly and work your way down as needed.

    Can we see more of these high rev bowlers? I'm a two handed bowler and I've been trying to figure out what I should get. I made a choice to get the black widow gold and the match-up hybrid and both are super strong. With weak drills

    Tamer, my style is closest to Dave Staboleski, with that said, what kind of Storm & Rotogrip arsenal does he use for league shots? Note I tend to like the controllable look of symmetrical cores but do on occasion use asym balls for more oil situations.

    Yeah i wish my house had normal oil. It's heavy oil considering it's a house shot. I actually don't know if they use a sport pattern or not, but i wouldn't be surprised if they do. I do not get these kinds of reactions with my timeless. This is more so the reaction i get from vg nano. Haven't picked the sure lock up yet. I want to though.

    • @TamerBowling

  • @pokeash6533

    Am I correct in assuming that it sits between the rotogrip hectic and the lock well? The lock rarely comes out unless I'm on real heavy oil and the hectic is my go to ball.

    Kinda wish Storm would change it up a bit. Yeah having a ball that hooks a lot is great and all, but they need to bring something different to the table sometimes and that's coming from a Storm & Roto Grip guy.

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      XTREMEPYRO144 I hear you. Unfortunately every time they try, they get criticized. The Phaze got ripped by a lot of people because it didn't hook like your typical Storm...

    • @jack17393506
      @jack17393506 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      TamerBowling The phase was never consistent you would throw similar shots and the ball would roll massively different and the match/match pearl died within a 100 games. It feels like storm just doesn't put any research and development into the lower hooking balls

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear you and would agree the original Phaze was not the best effort in my opinion. I am hearing something about second batch Phazes rolling really well but I haven't seen anyone around here give it a shot.

    • @danielq2358
      @danielq2358 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Huh, I found the phaze to roll like a smooth pearl with a nice arc backend, and the Dare Devil to be inconsistent... Dare Devil literally doesn't have any backend for me, so I can only ever use it when I need little backend.

    • @shaunmcisaac782
      @shaunmcisaac782 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Pitch Black / Pitch Blue are lower hooking and they're showing up on TV and WSOB events pretty frequently.
      I would agree that more RD almost certainly goes into the higher hook balls because of target audience. Think about it this way... how many guys / gals are in the 450+RPM range in a given league. 1? 2? How many grandpas are in the league at

    • @igoramaral95
      @igoramaral95 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure would. These medium hybrids are great step-down from strong rolly balls as they allow you to slow down, get more hand in it and move in when the strong balls aren't getting it done.

      Please show us some really "normal people" using these balls so we can see how the ball does at 12mph with 150 rpms going real straight.

      Few bowlers here and there throw it still. Time revealed that this was definitely not the next hyroad.
      I had a timeless a few months after it came out. Like with many others, the ball was very over under for me. Couldn't get a consistent reaction out of it. Sold it cheap to a 2 hander and he loved it and did very well with it. I do wonder if Storm will make another ball with the core though, or at least another variation of a core inside another core.

    • @TamerBowling
      @TamerBowling  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You may find conditions that a ball like this is too strong, say if there is very short or low amounts of oil. It doesn't become obvious until you see those conditions. Also, as your average raises and you learn nuances of your ball reaction, you will see more differences and more need for different level balls.
