      G4Tanus That’s good too. Roto Grip is made by Storm. I recently bought a roto grip hyper cell fused, and it’s by far one of the best balls I have used. It has really good hook. I play around first arrow, and the ball just snaps right into the pocket, and destroys the pins.

    "Hook into the pins with more impact" -- makes it sound like the cores deliver more physical power when really hook is just to get entry angle; 3-6 degrees is ideal for striking.

    • @hulkslayer626
      @hulkslayer626 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can throw my straight ball 19-20 mph. My hooking ball does 24-25 mph. The spin generated by the core increases the velocity slightly. If you watch closely, you can actually see the ball speed up right before it hits the pins.

    storm, hammer, wolverine... not sure which comic book character it was named after but i picked one up at the salvation army for 5 bucks. I cut it in half with a hand saw and made a nice engraving base with it. I was sure it was polyester inside as i used to use polyester resin and it smelled like it.

    remember trying to learn how to bowl like the pros when i was a teen and untill my mid 20s i accidentally picked up my friends pro ball and realized how much spin i got(i was really drunk that night btw) but i threw it off to the side thinking its was a gutter then...BAM! curvs in for a strike, i was so pissed because for years i thought i didnt know how to bowl the ball but it turns out its mostly the ball doing the work lol. Years later a random bowler from a team told me that he was impressed i could bowl with the regular balls so well and told me i got a good hook with my shots and i didnt think much of it at the time but the more time goes on it just makes me laugh of that moment.

    I never knew they had weights in them and wondered how they got the balls to curve on the lane like that. When I was kid a friend and I spent an hour breaking a bowling ball open with a sledgehammer. It had like a 3 inch thick plastic skin or whatever it was on the outside, surrounding a cement ball. We smashed it to dust! No weights or anything else. This was over 30 years ago so maybe the weights weren`t a thing yet. Or maybe just a cheap ball.

  • @Warxoth
    @Warxoth 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I noticed some misleading information here...While a round block (you will most likely know it for its real name, round core) is for beginners , proffesionals DO USE such type of ball for their second shot; for example, when you have to knock a pin which has another one behind a "hooking" ball will move out of the way when it strikes the first one, while the round core ball will strike them both with no problem, that is if you do it right of course :)

    The 10% of your body weight rule applies more to kids if anything. As an adult, I'd say a better rule of thumb is to go by hand size/strength. Small hands/weaker forearm? Stick to 12-13 pounds. Average, 13-15, etc. Though keep in mind, bowling ball manufacturers optimize performance toward 15 pound equipment, and 14 pounds at minimum, otherwise they use a different weight block which will sacrifice performance.

    • @nataleeisjustchilling2737
      @nataleeisjustchilling2737 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I have small hands and a weaker forearm so I use a 12 pounder, my dad uses a 15 not a 16 anymore because nowadays they make it so 14, 15, and 16 pound balls deflect the same

    To say that symmetric balls don't hook much is "completely wrong". Guy has no idea of what's he's talking about. Ball hooking is the combination of RG differential, coverstock strength, and drilling pattern.( even without the bowler trying to hook it). Asymmetric balls just offer more drilling preferences mainly.

      Innovative bowling sells engraving filler material for about 4 bucks a stick in several colors. I'm sure there are many other sources who also sell it.

      They are specific to the person who uses the ball. They have to take fittings for the persons hand and fingers.
