Country music isn’t about color, black, white, yellow, red etc. it’s about love for God, country and the simple way of life. Something ALL people can appreciate 🥰
I'd love to see a "where are they now?" video for all the kids in this video. I mean, this came out in 2009. It's been about 12 years. I imagine at least some of them are in college or recently graduated.
I didn’t even LIKE Country Western music when I first met Brad Paisley. He asked me what kind of music I did like and I said that I mostly like classical music that my son plays on the piano, but I also like some Christian pop rock, too. He said that was cool but would I like to listen to some music of his? Of course, I did, NOT EXPECTING to fall absolutely in love with the MAN before WELCOME to the FUTURE was even over!!
Brad Paisley has always been one of my favorite artists, but this was the first time I noticed all the representation of disabilities. As the mom of a deaf, nonverbal son in a wheelchair, I just want to say THANK YOU for showing that all our kids are people with hopes and dreams.
I am currently lying on hospital bed because of pneumonia.. thank you for bringing such a beautiful praise and worship.. I am thankful for all the things happening in my life and I also believe that God is with me all the way, even though there are times when I doubt His existence.. but He is always here.. teach me Lord to be more like You..
I was there that day. I flew to DC to go to Congress for the ACA and actually bumped into Brad! Everyone was walking around taking pictures & I looked up and said.. "OMG! That's Brad Paisley!" and he looked over and smiled and waved at me. I took a few pictures of him with my camera and got to be in the video! It was the coolest thing I ever experienced.
Easily one of the few country singers who doesn't sing about beer, drinking and tractors. This is why he's my favourite country artists! Plus most of his songs have meaning and are good.
Well, I guess you don't really listen to a lot of country. Actually, most country songs are about family, God and homeland. There's a whole sub genre of country dedicated to their children and fatherly or motherly love like the excelent "In my daughter's eyes" by Martina McBride.
I've been a fan of Brad Paisley for quite a few years, but I was unaware of this song and video. For anyone who thinks "Country Music" is just about Trucks, Girls,Drinking Beer and Whiskey and being Heartbroken after a woman leaves you, THIS song is quite an eye-opener! I LOVED it. Bravo, Mr. Paisley!
Nah, Brad Paisley is one of the few exceptions. He is in a class of his own and an original. The rest just follow formulas so they don't have to get a real job.
He's SO talented at capturing EXACTLY what's going on in our world, and put it to music. I agree with whoever said EVERYONE in the ENTIRE WORLD needs to hear THIS GEM!!! Certainly makes one think. And that's part of what makes him SO extraordinarily talented, he can put his idea to serious words, that touches people in their hearts & souls, OR he can add some humor, quite UNIQUE HUMOR If you ask me! Do you know of ANYONE else, in ANY genre, that wrote a VERY funny about COVID???? I sure don't!! JUST BRAD! He knew what everyone needed, a song to really uplift everyone's spirits by and his #1 Hit Song- "THERE'S NO I IN BEER", especially the video, was FUNNY & TOUCHING & COMFORTING ALL at the same time. Only Brad can come up with the best idea to give not just Americas, but the WHOLE WORLD got in on that video, so he was actually spreading CHEER worldwide! Which IS EXACTLY what the whole world needed at that time! He's just SOOO good at doing that!!! He's DEFINITELY MY #1 FAVORITE Male Artist. And thats not even to mention just how well he can play that guitar!!! Most people in Country just strum some chords on an acoustic, (which I love too!) But they're satisfied with just doing that. NOT PAISLEY. He's the lead singer AND lead guitarist!! I remember when people tried to compare guitar skills between him & Keith Urban. Instead of getting wrapped up in the drama, Brad wrote "Start A Band" and Keith & him made the most AWESOME VIDEO for it!! Still one of my all time favorites! Then his latest two hits, "Same Here", which is about the war in Ukraine right now. In the video, he actually has Ukraine's President on a phone call with him, that becomes a part of the song. It's SO special, SO powerful. AND THEN, "You Only Get So Many Summers"... Wow, that one REALLY hits home with me, and brings me to tears. It's just about how short this life really is, and we only get so many summers with our loved ones. Well, 😥😭 sadly, I just lost my Mom 9 months ago, so have been grieving for her ..... And this year, this August actually, will be the 10th anniversary of our youngest son's death. Ten years. That's unreal. So when Brad tries to tell everyone NOT to take a moment for granted, I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HE MEANS. I miss my Son AND my Mom more than I can ever put into words. I just keep my faith that I WILL see them again, one glorious day! God Bless Anyone Reading This Comment 🙏✝️💯✌️ #PaisleyForPresident 👏👍✌️🤘💪👋

I'm not gonna lie, this song makes me pretty emotional, particularly the third verse. We've made so many strides as a society even within the past century (or half century for that matter) and it makes me so happy. What a time to be alive.
Yeah, this was a celebration of Obama’s election. And what it meant about us as a country. I’m hoping you’ve noticed that things have regressed at least a _little_ since then.
@@Rugelacharugula Bro then wtf are *you* blaming for the regressing of this country? Because it sure seems like you were blaming him for things regressing.

Watching on June 1 2020. This song is so innocent and naive in the context of what is going on right now in the world. May the joy and optimism of this song make it's way into creating a new, better place for all of us here.

Just reminiscing on old Brad Paisley videos, and this is by far one of the coolest songs he's ever done. Very insightful and important. Can I just say, about the comments below: I am a Christian and I love God, and if you do not believe, then so be it. I cannot tell you how to live, or if you are wrong, etc.. But what I will say is, like the message in this song, let us embrace ACCEPTANCE and LOVE, of all. Black, white, gay, straight, we are all human.
Anyone notice the line that appears twice “Glory glory hallelujah?” The double “glory” gives it away as a quote from “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” which was basically the anthem for the Union army during the Civil War. And since this song was written as a tribute to the election of Barack Obama, I take it to mean that this moment symbolized the achievement of what the Union soldiers set out to do. Such an incredibly moving song and video. 😭😭😭

I always hear 'when I was a kid...' from my grandparents or any one from the older generations in my family. I sometimes forget how lucky we are to have the medical care we do now, the racial equality, the gay marriage and over all less discrimination. I know it still exists, but thanks to people like Brad, we're starting to see the world is changing for the better :)
That little girl at 3:29 looked like a dreamer 14 years ago, today it can be reality. Now THAT'S progress! Greetings from Germany and thanks for this soooo positive video. Every time when I'm a bit sad I watch it and everything is fine again.
As per usual, fantastic voice, Brad. Brilliant guitar player, also. I always feel uplifted when I listen to your music. 😊 May all those beautiful children in this video succeed with their dreams. Bless you all. ❤😊
My grandaddy was in WWII and she talks about writing him letters and such. He spent 26 years in the Army and was in 3 wars. She had to go to Japan on a freightliner with two toddlers. So different than the military today. She is still alive and banks online and has facebook. LOL. The way things have changed is pure amazing.
Fun fact! I went to DC as a kid with my family in 2009, I was about 8, THE DAY AFTER WE LEFT, THEY STARTED FILMING THIS!!! I could've been in this, me and my mom (Brad Paisley fans) were so jealous..
Mr. Paisley touches all the right nerves. I've loved this song since he released it in '09 and I'll never get tired of listening to it. Again and again and again, he demonstrates how country music can expand its bandwidth to reach every soul on the planet. God bless you, Brad.
This is such an uplifting song. Often the societal attitude to our current state is overly negative. Are we perfect? Far from it. Is the world, by in large, better than it ever has been? By many standards, yes.
I remember how joyous I felt listening to this in 2009. The last verse stings a little now. We can't lose focus on that. We have to get there again. For every child on the video & all those they represent.
The firefighting apparatus at 3:23, FDNY Engine 54, is quartered on 8th Avenue in Times Square with Ladder 4 and Battalion 9. All three companies at this station lost their entire crews at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. This was the only fire station in New York City to lose their entire shift that day. Due to their location in Time Square, the station plays an important role on Broadway, for which they received a TONY Award in 2019. A fire inspection must be conducted for a theatre prior to the public opening of a new show. It is the firefighters and command officers of Engine 54, Ladder 4, and Battalion 9 who are usually tasked with conducting the inspections. The station, and Engine 54 in particular, make their presence and role on Broadway known with Engine 54's Slogan, which appears both across the top of her windshield, and on the station patch: "NEVER MISSED A PERFORMANCE".
I woke up with this song on my mind from years back. I had to think hard about the melody, lyrics and who sang it. When I realized that it was Brad Paisley and played it, my eyes began to water.
The thing that always freaked me out being in front of a crowd... Was that one person that catches my attention... That one person in the many of thousands..☺️🙏
We are all more similar than we are different. Whenever your life drags you down and makes you start to hate others....anyone....actively fight against that. Life is hard by definition. Sometimes it is so hard we can't deal with it. Hate is easy and useless. Love is hard and everything. I learned that the hard way. Accept that now please.
I wish I could “heart” this a bazillion times❣️❣️❣️ Brad, please don’t ever let your loving heart, ingenious lyric making, or willingness towards inclusion be darkened. I LOVE, HONOR, RESPECT, and share your material. Your lyrics, musicality, prowess on the guitar are TOP NOTCH!🖤 Please keep doing what you do. Your light shines much farther than you have any idea. 💜💜💜
I love you so much Brad Paisley. I wanted to be a pilot and an astronaut. That was in 1960 when Pres. Kennedy asked us to "ask not" - I was ten years old, and I took it serious. I gave myself flying lessons at 15, unbenownst to my Dad, who had said: "no". He said: "be a nurse, be a teacher, be a banker lady, but, society will not let you be a pilot, let alone, an astronaut. You will be fighting for your job every minute of every day. I don't want a pioneer, nor a martyr, and that's what you'll be for the rest of your life." I was in a rage most of my adult life. Got a job at a telecommunications company, married late in life, had one child even later. I showed her the world, and everything in it, including NASA Space Camp - twice. But, she had other ideas. Long story short, she was accepted to one of the top engineering school in the country. She had to fight me to be a Civil Engineer, because I wanted her to be a pilot, and an astronaut. She said: "Mom, that's your dream, mine is I want to work to make the Earth better...she works for the Feds, as a top engineer making buildings healthier. Mr. Paisley, you made me cry. Thank you for your music, thank you for who you are. I would like to thank your parents for raising such a fine young man.
"I thought about him today, Everybody who's seen what he's seen, From a woman on a bus To a man with a dream. Wake up Martin Luther. Welcome to the future." Gets me every time.
***** we need a leader from the common people. Someone who is sympathetic to the achievers as well as the abused. Someone who can truly be indifferent to what either side wants and think of the nation, and the planet, as a whole. Neither choice was capable of that. We are entering the most turbulent time in our nation and the world's history. I am scared but look forward to it. I will survive, this great country will come out stronger and our world will be healed. The one world nation has begun to take its first steps. I look forward to our space faring, one world society. The planet is alive and it knows who the bad people are. It will purge itself of them and leave the rest of us here to clean up and create a new society based in ethics and ingenuity. The battle between good and evil is here and the good will win, it always does. 100 years from now, our offspring will look back and see that this is where we took a stand against 1984 and our planet was healed.
Went on a 6 hour bus journey from Baguio to Sagada, they played nothing but country music the whole time. I'll be honest, country really isn't my thing, but this one really stuck with me. What an awesome song.

Ever since then I would listen to the station. In 2022 they went off the air. I was very sad. But thank goodness for the Pandora app and TH-cam app I can to you sing and perform. You are inspiration to me. If I had one wish. If I ever have have chance to meet you. I would shake your hand say thank you Mr. Paisley. God bless you always.
I don't know why but I was craving specifically this song. I guess it's just been one of those days. It's amazing, a few minutes ago I was ready to pass out and go to sleep but the second I start to think about the future all of a sudden I'm wide awake. I'm planning on to go back to college soon and I'm still not sure what I want to do( or what I'm destined to do, suppose to do, need to do).
2 years since then Well... Loved one got cancer but still highly treatable You're finally figuring out that most of your issues are linked to your anxiety and you finally got an existing social life just to realize that it isn't always easy to keep up with It was a rough step forward but so far no steps back. I'm making progress. Advice for the world: Your steps forward may not be easy or smooth but it progress. Be proud about them and always count your blessings.

As a kid and now a grown-up who adore tech and sci-fi this song always brings a tear to my eye. People do not realize how much we got just in the last 15 years it is mind-blowing if you know it all. From DVDs, TH-cam, streaming movies and smartphones to AI, robots, VR, AR, Nanotech, space ex, electric and self driving cars, 3d printers, cryptos, robot limbs even universal translators, BCI and radical life extension soon and soooo much more. Science is awesome now let us use it to improve ourselves and our society as a whole. Long live and prosper.

Amen @Jose Garcia! Thanks for that on point post !!
A timeless message from one of the best performers and good and decent people in country music.
Hardly one comment about how good a guitarist Brad is. Up there with the best country players and a very moving song too.
Hope is what we all need right now. And that's exactly what this song provides. See y'all on the other side.
I always tear up what that young man says, "I want my mom to beat cancer." See you soon, mom.
That little girl at 3:29 looked like a dreamer 14 years ago, today it can be reality.
Now THAT'S progress!
Greetings from Germany and thanks for this soooo positive video. Every time when I'm a bit sad I watch it and everything is fine again.
Thought the same. Beautiful song.
As per usual, fantastic voice, Brad. Brilliant guitar player, also.
I always feel uplifted when I listen to your music. 😊
May all those beautiful children in this video succeed with their dreams. Bless you all. ❤😊
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here.
What's amazing is that it's almost been ten years since this song came out, and look at how the world has changed since then!
Thank beautiful how are you
The world has changed since this empowering song came out.
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here.
Brad Paisley is the reason I expanded my horizons and started to listen to modern country music. Great human being.

Fun fact! I went to DC as a kid with my family in 2009, I was about 8, THE DAY AFTER WE LEFT, THEY STARTED FILMING THIS!!! I could've been in this, me and my mom (Brad Paisley fans) were so jealous..
it's probably going to be a close set
i feel ya
I was there!!!! it wasnt closed. you would be able to see me, but my tall friend jumped in front of me. it was awesome!!!
I’m glad do you care for a private chat ? 💋❤️
Mr. Paisley touches all the right nerves. I've loved this song since he released it in '09 and I'll never get tired of listening to it. Again and again and again, he demonstrates how country music can expand its bandwidth to reach every soul on the planet. God bless you, Brad.
am I the only one who is amazed by the Crook Teles brad is playing. that dark blue one with the paint splash look is amazing.
I’m glad do you care for a private chat ? 💋❤️
okay but there's something about this guy, if its the way he sings or his face I don't know, but he makes me so happy.
This song and video not only takes my
breath away, but it also gives me chills.
This is such an uplifting song. Often the societal attitude to our current state is overly negative.
Are we perfect? Far from it. Is the world, by in large, better than it ever has been? By many standards, yes.
+Doug Patterson Which is interesting, considering Brad Paisly has many cynical comedic songs making fun of society.
15 years ago ?! How have I never seen this. The "crowd" cheering sections remind me of what you see/hear in Southern Comfort Home.
I remember how joyous I felt listening to this in 2009. The last verse stings a little now. We can't lose focus on that. We have to get there again. For every child on the video & all those they represent.
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
That last verse hits me so hard, my best friend in high school had the same thing happen to him, the joys of living in the South
Thank beautiful
I've been a fan of Brad's since i was 16. I'll be 38 in February. Him and Ty Herndon are the only entertainers I've seen live more than once.
Hello how are you doing today?
The thing that always freaked me out being in front of a crowd... Was that one person that catches my attention... That one person in the many of thousands..☺️🙏
Wow, this is a beautiful song and I'll listen to it over and over
Brad Paisley is the best of Country Mucic. He is soooo AWSOME!!!!
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
We are all more similar than we are different. Whenever your life drags you down and makes you start to hate others....anyone....actively fight against that. Life is hard by definition. Sometimes it is so hard we can't deal with it. Hate is easy and useless. Love is hard and everything. I learned that the hard way. Accept that now please.
Thank you hope you are doing great
2024. STILL an epic tune. Pulls on all my heart strings...
Thanks Brad, for this !
2019: Last normal year
2020: Lost year for the world
2021: America's Comeback year and the world rebounds from the Pandemic
I wish I could “heart” this a bazillion times❣️❣️❣️ Brad, please don’t ever let your loving heart, ingenious lyric making, or willingness towards inclusion be darkened. I LOVE, HONOR, RESPECT, and share your material. Your lyrics, musicality, prowess on the guitar are TOP NOTCH!🖤 Please keep doing what you do. Your light shines much farther than you have any idea. 💜💜💜
Great comment! By the way, I agree 💯 with you!
Thank you 😊
I love you so much Brad Paisley.
Who is here on 2024? Welcome to the future
👍 Good to see you in the future Jerry!!!
Am glad your here Jerry
It’s 1am this song in my head lol

"I thought about him today,
Everybody who's seen what he's seen,
From a woman on a bus
To a man with a dream.
Wake up Martin Luther.
Welcome to the future."
Gets me every time.
Richard Gray unfortunately, we took 1 step forward and 8 steps back. I wonder what mlk would be thinking today...
Don't worry my friend we will heal as a nation now that we are going to have a true leader in the White House.
Richard Gray me too! the same with the Japanese!
Mlk would not be happy.. he wanted equality not this race baiting and farther separation
my memory after my stroke isnt so good anymore but brad stays forever
I want my mom to beat cancer.....that is a tough one to sit through

Me too...lost my mom in January 2018.
Sorry for y’all to lose

I know it's been 2 years since you commented but I hope your mom is doing well and you also stay strong
These kids are in their teens and 20’s now. I wonder how many of them are still on track to reach their stated goals in this video.
I just hope they grew up to be caring human beings!
Went on a 6 hour bus journey from Baguio to Sagada, they played nothing but country music the whole time. I'll be honest, country really isn't my thing, but this one really stuck with me. What an awesome song.
Gotta especially love the reference to Rosa Parks in this, a creative and original country song!
I loved how they show the little girl who wants to be President when he sings about Rosa Parks, too.
I have been. Fan of Brad Paisley for years now most fabulous song writer and a God given voice and me need someone like him today he makes me forget when he sings ,love him
Hello, how are you doing? I’m Tony Ahrrold, Hope you had a great day?
Far and away my favorite Brad Paisley song. This is just really good stuff.
I love it when the Japanese band starts singing his song! It just makes me smile. I love this video.
He is my neighbor!!! His name is Charlie Nagatani. He has his own bar called “good time Charlie” here in Kumamoto, Japan. I grew up listening to his songs.
You mean country band.
@@compashinpei Charlie Nagatani’s part singing in this video has always been my favorite part. So cool that he is your neighbor! You’ve got a really cool channel too, it blows my mind the world we live in now where We can watch you in Japan on TH-cam, making videos in Spanish!!!

Love this song so much, i've always been a fans of country songs since childhood
I have such a visceral response to this video. Every.Single.Time. I"ve probably listened to this song a dozen times this morning.
Other country stars: "the good old days..."
Paisley, "You mean today?"
I always say "Good for whom? Minorites? Gays? Women? The disabled?
Thought so."
Other country singers: 😋🍑👢
Brad: 🇺🇲🗽🗿

Thank beautiful how are you doing
I'm going to share this. It may be from 2009, but in 2021 we need this song more than ever.
Positive, modern, country.
What's not to love? 2021

Mr. Paisley the first time I heard you sing was on radio station in
San Jose California.
It was called 95.3 Krty the morning show had Gary and Julie in the year of 2006.
It has been over 12 years since this video was made and I would like to know where these kids are today and if their dreams are still the same.
Hello how are you doing today 😊
I don't know why but I was craving specifically this song. I guess it's just been one of those days.
It's amazing, a few minutes ago I was ready to pass out and go to sleep but the second I start to think about the future all of a sudden I'm wide awake.
I'm planning on to go back to college soon and I'm still not sure what I want to do( or what I'm destined to do, suppose to do, need to do).
2 years since then
Well...
Loved one got cancer but still highly treatable
You're finally figuring out that most of your issues are linked to your anxiety
and you finally got an existing social life just to realize that it isn't always easy to keep up with
It was a rough step forward but so far no steps back. I'm making progress.
Advice for the world: Your steps forward may not be easy or smooth but it progress. Be proud about them and always count your blessings.
Good job Brad. My Grandpa was in world War II too. But Both of my grandparents of every generation are gone now and my Great grandparents too. And my great aunts and uncles. Two of my cousins are gone too.
Hey how are you doing today?
Brad Paisley gives me hope and demonstrates the goodness in human beings.
Love the Martin Luther verse. We should all be celebrating that man!!!
I’m glad do you care for a private chat ? 💋
His eyes man they sink into your soul... Just like his awesome songs
Your right thats a good song
Yup!
hes hot too

It’d be so cool to update this song with the kids to see where they are now. Great song!
Given the events of 2020 I kinda feel like the lyric should read "Wake up Martin Luther, We need you in the future!"
Really inspirational song. Life changes mostly for the good. My favorite lyric is Used to go to the arcade now I got it on my phone 😞📱
