    Not sure about keeb enthusiasts not liking foam, or foam making all switches sound the same.
    But, that being said, this was a great video. Covered all the steps and still kept it concise!

      Thank you!! Appreciate you and your comment :) I love the foam haha, so there is definitely a distinct difference but when I first started, there were a good amount of people really hating on the foam which is the reason for my comment there.

      @@JonjonTech It’s definitely been a polarising subject. I honestly love both. Foam for quiet and in the office. Less foam when I’m at home. Being able to ‘configure’ the sound profile is one of the best parts of custom keebs.
      Keep doing what you’re doing, putting some great videos out there! 😁

    Wonderful keyboard!!! ❤
    I was thinking of building a TKL but I don't know exactly which one so yeah I am still looking for ideas, the Neo80 seems like a fun build. Once again, great vid!

      Thank you so much! The Neo80 was super fun to build, and super easy to modify which definitely made it more convenient for switching out different switches

      I'm normally more of a 75% guy but picked up both a GEM80 and a Neo80. The GEM80 is quite unique with the plastic bottom, all I did was add switches and caps and the sound is quite unique. The Neo80 seems more premium though. Maybe it's the fully AL case but it's quite heavy and the sound is probably the sound in your head. Just pay attention to the orientation of some of the switches will be reversed, you can see that in Jon's video here if you pause it. I went dumbbell mount as well than once that is done there are no ribbon cables! I used all the foam included, the included stabs, WS Heavy Tactiles and GMK Botanical on a green Neo80. It's phenomenal. I would recommend either depending on what you want but this is my second Qwertykeys board and both are simply stellar!

    Nice choice with the WS Heavy tactiles, that is what I have in mine with all the foam but with GMK caps and it definitely gives it a little pop to go alone with the thock. Very nice build demo, sub added! I have those switches now in my Neo80, Bakeneko65, Luminkey65 and Jaris75... simply my favorite to type on. I do love those Cthulu caps, going to have to get a set! To me the foam doesn't mask the sound bad in this keyboard like in some others depending on the caps used.

    I would love that keyboard but once I saw you lubing each key with a special tool, I kinda zoned out lol. Is there anything available that is lower effort? I LOVE the sound of those keys.

      You mean when I lubed the stabilizers? Well the keyboard needs to be built one way or another. You may want to look into prebuilt keyboards

    is dielectric grease good for lubing stabilizers? :0

    • @JonjonTech
      @JonjonTech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! In fact I usually use Dielectric grease for the wire and dip it in the tube. I just couldn't find it for this vid.. lol
