    Your video needs more views!! You do a FAR better job than the Honda dealerships or the Honda social media folks about explaining their Honda Sensing features.

    FYI, when the windshield mounted camera that controls these systems fails, it will cost $2K. It has to be reprogrammed.

      Yes, when something fails in a car (inevitably) you have to replace it for the same amount of money it’s worth.

    Do you have to be going a certain speed for the lane departure system to work?

    • @Carsplain
      @Carsplain  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question! I believe it only works above 40 miles per hour. This is also fairly typical for other brands as well.

    When will the emergency brake system be activated? I have tried to tailgate other vehicle and went very close to bumper of another car but CMBS didn’t warn me. And brakes were not activated by the car. I have a 2019 Odyssey EXL. So why it didn’t work?

    • @Carsplain
      @Carsplain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm we don’t advise trying to get it to trigger. But just following someone closely typically won’t cause an automatic braking event. Your car would need to sense that your vehicle is about to impact the vehicle ahead. So if the vehicle ahead slowed suddenly and you didn’t, or if there was a parked/stationary object you were approaching. But if two vehicles are simply moving in the same direction, it wouldn’t necessarily alert you or stop.

      Yes Honda added full speed adaptive cruise recently to the Odyssey. It should be controlled in the same way. Honda doesn’t send us test vehicles directly but we’ll try to get one if we can!!

    Thanks for your sharing, on the dashboard of my Odyssey Sport (next to total mile, mpg, miles) there is green circled car icon, do you know what does this mean?

    • @Carsplain
      @Carsplain  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a new indicator, the Safety Support. Green when the Road Departure, Collision Mitigation and Blind Spot systems are all on.
      Green and Gray if one or two of the above systems are off
      Gray if all systems are off

    How do I use the brake hold?

    • @Carsplain
      @Carsplain  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The enable it by pressing the Brake Hold button down by the electronic parking brake switch. After that, every time you come to a complete stop for more than a beat, you’ll see the Hold light and car will be held and brake lights kept on even if you remove your foot from the brake. Just press the gas pedal when you’re ready to go.

    What about blind spot system on/off?

    • @Carsplain
      @Carsplain  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it’s in the infotainment radio screen. Settings > Vehicle > Driver Assist Setup > Blind Spot Information

      @logun1970 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Carsplain that's part of it, but there is a button to the left of the steering wheel that when pressed changes the info area by the speedo to the check boxes for 3 different warning systems, use the up and down arrows to choose what box and then press the center button to check or uncheck the box whichs turns on or off the specific system.

      If you hit the Home button on the steering wheel and then go down to Show Apps, and the select Trip Computer it should show up. And then you can use Enter to toggle back and forth between trip A and trip B

    • @Carsplain

      For the 2018 - 2020 Odyssey this was on the EX and up trims. For 2021 it's standard on all trims and has been enhanced with stop and go capability for the adaptive cruise control.
