    Most people don’t know how to use the paddles, and will complain that the car is not letting them “bang the limiter.” That’s to prevent damage to the drive train.

      @gearheadtechnology หลายเดือนก่อน

      meh its not a real manual feature then.. you should be able to have the engine right at redline and not cause damage. My 2007 honda accord manual has been at redline most of its life and its got 238k miles on it lol

      That doesn’t make sense when the car reaches full power at 6,800 and the torque is the same to the drivetrain when off or on the paddles. There’s no way to "bang the limiter" in the first place when the car has the feature to automatically shift up at a given rpm, electronically.

    I love my 2024 Civic Sport CVT! The car really comes alive after installing an AEM intake system and Megan Racing front strut bar. It would be great if there could be a service update to raise the redline for the paddle shifters just a bit more, to 6,500 rpm would be great! I don’t understand why the redline is 6,100 for the paddles because the car really misses out on the advantage of the VTEC in Sport mode. In just sport mode and no paddle the car hits about 6,800 RPM and it’s a clear difference. Kicking down gears for corners in Normal mode feels more aggressive than Sport mode because the car returns to auto CVT immediately after acceleration, whereas in Sport mode you’ll stay in manual mode and be stiffed by the 6,100 RPM redline each gear up from the corner.🙏🏽

    • @ziyue9725

      B is like engine braking and the paddleshifters work as intended like the stick - to downshift and + to shift up. You might already know what i am talking about

    Do I let go of the gas between shifting? Or not necessary for CVT

    • @legopeices220
      @legopeices220 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not necessary as there is no clutch pedal

    • @KrookDaKidd
      @KrookDaKidd 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I do and it feels better to do it than when I hold the gas and shift. The timing is different than a manual, to do it right. Takes a little time but the trick is to time the up shift to when you lift your foot off the gas, then press the gas again quickly. Also take the traction control off.

    No meaning of paddle shifters in CVT cars though they are available.
    I use Honda city CVT.
    I tried to use paddle shifters. I observed that feature is redundant in CVT car. Because at Low or high any speed CVT system immediately adjust the speed, power and torque as there is no multiple gear shift mechanism.

    • @sound2loud
      @sound2loud 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s not redundant because you choose the gears. Cvt does not do this, it goes between them, it does not over perform and decelerate like you can do with paddles.

    Can you PLEASE start from the VERY beginning? Does the driver have to first put the regular transmission in the usual "drive" position first? If you could demonstrate this from the stopped and "engine off" point, your viewers would understand better. You can't just begin this demonstration from the perspective of what the paddle shifters are used for and think that everyone will automatically understand. We're all not technicians. You need to understand your audience if you want to help them.
