I had a 2020 version of the odyssey for a 2 year lease, it surprised my neighbors civic si, the power delivery instant & continuous. The spacious interior and reliability was amazing, averaging 25 mpg on a cross country drive with 4 passengers and a dog! The Toyota was carrying a lot more weight and that hybrid electric motor won in short sprints at the line, and the 10 speed aided a passing gear with electric torque to hang on a bit with Honda. I’d say hybrid is the future of automotive power, however Honda built that NA V6 (old tech) with an amazing punch!!! I agree styling does go to the Kia.
We spent 22 yrs in various minivans (2 Sienna's and 2 Odyssey's), with 5 kids who are now mostly grown. When we were "stuck" with them, I preferred the Honda because it's the "sportiest" and has the best driving dynamics. But now that everyone is growing up (16 and 19 yr old still at home, both have their own cars) and we have little actual "need" for a minivan, I sometimes think about buying one again just for road trips (we currently have a '20 F150 Platinum EB stage 1, '22 Model 3 Perf. and a '17 Accord Sport that my youngest drives). But the one I would buy is the Sienna Hybrid, for it's comfortable ride quality and excellent MPG's. The hybrid powertrain is powerful enough to get the job done without frustration and, to me, it's the most pleasant one to ride in, very quiet and smooth. You do have to get used to the weird exterior styling, but you're already driving a minivan so you've already "given up on life" anyway haha.

Honda/V-tec all day baby lol. But you got to love Honda motors I think they are the best motors ever made. They sound good they have good power and they last for ever. The best motor they ever made is the K series and the J series. Also don’t get me wrong the lil B series and D series are bulletproof motors you can even boost the hell out of them and they will take it all day. Also you can have no oil in them and they still will drive for months lol.
Can we double check the Kia's time please? 7.2 seconds with such a slow 16.1 quarter mile? 7.2 sec should equal 15.6 or 15.7 for 1/4, no? And if 16.1 for 1/4, shouldn't that equate to around 8.0 for 0-60?
The older gen sienna with the 3.5V6 301hp would've definitely given the oddesey a run for its money. I've driven the V6 sienna and it was pretty impressive.

Can you also put in the Subaru acsent and the volkswagen atlas v6?
Thank you, thank you, thank you, great fun to watch, that Honda Odyssey Rock and Rolls, very impressive, and very impressive fuel economy on the Toyota Sienna. Well done
I drive Seat Alhambra (VW Sharan clone) - compact which is a must if you drive in European cities, good engine, high clerance, but unfortunately recently discontinued
Honda prioritizes performance than sales and Toyota prioritizes sales than performance.
I think Toyota prioritizes reliability.
@@beeboodu1 Yeah, engine reliability only.
So this ten speed is reliable? I’ve had my share of trans issues with a couple of older odyssey’s
kias heavier weight is the main culprit i would say
Barely heavier, do keep in mind, Kia has 10 more Hp. It’s either the 10 speed is too good, or the 8 speed is really bad.
Heavier weight, and less aggressive transmission.
does the sienna have a track mode?
Liked the comparison, I’m a Toyota guy 🫢. You have a ressemblance to Jay Leno👍🏻
nobody’s talking about how the 2.5L hybrid sienna is quicker than that kia carnival in the 1/4 mile.. sienna got 15.9 seconds and the carnival got 16.1
Finally the video I’ve been waiting for!!
Is there not a V6 option for the sienna?
Not anymore, Toyota went Hybrid only with the 4th generation Sienna.
I owned a 2023 odyssey. Loved it. Smooth ride everyday
the Kia looks best if you would have to choose i guess not that i like any of these kind of cars but if i had to pick yup Kia followed by the toyota
Ontario licence plates? Glad to see another Canadian car channel 🇨🇦😎💪👍
Yes we are
Can we double check the Kia's time please?
7.2 seconds with such a slow 16.1 quarter mile?
7.2 sec should equal 15.6 or 15.7 for 1/4, no?
And if 16.1 for 1/4, shouldn't that equate to around 8.0 for 0-60?
Don’t forget winter tires and fwd
The older gen sienna with the 3.5V6 301hp would've definitely given the oddesey a run for its money. I've driven the V6 sienna and it was pretty impressive.
Did you put the Sienna on Sport mode?
odyssey is an amazing minivan, no surprise became the best-selling minivan last year
i enjoyed the video showcasing real world practical vehicles. if you're suck between a truck or coming into a passing lane and u want to hustle why not because it's a van u wouldn't want to push through to the front just like anyone else 😎
Im not even a dad, im 29 . But that honda looks delicious.
Sat in a sienna and it did not impress me like the older generations. The 4 cylinder killed it
Part of this is the 10 speed amazing transmission Honda is using. I have the same 10 speed in my 10th Gen Accord 2.0T… the gearing in it is fantastic!
Had an Odyssey Touring for a couple of years and loved it. I remember smoking a Volvo XC60 T5 In a drag and he wasn’t thrilled lol
you need to do more races like this!! like the new pilot and the competition? 🎉
The prices and mpg shown do not add up for some reason
I honestly enjoyed this video😊
I wonder if I put my 2011 Odyssey up VS the new Sienna? Would the sienna go bye bye? I think so lol
Sam your drag videos keep getting better. Love them. How about some drag queens racing?
Not a bad idea
☠️☠️☠️
LoL😁🔥😁
Toyota needs to put the 2.4T hybrid from the GHL in the Sienna and get rid of that CVT.
Kia definitely wins for the looks. It looks kinda like a big SUV.
Bro the odyssey's got paddleshifters. Those kids ain't gonna be waiting long after their Dad's meeting😂😂
Does the honda have the same 10 speed transmission that was in the accord sport?
Yep
So this ten speed is reliable? I’ve had my share of trans issues with a couple of older odyssey’s
Still with the 10 speed. The old 6 speed had issues.
