    I'll have to second the opinion expressed below regarding the heavier tyres and tubes you fitted. Yes, this inevitably increases unsprung weight, and will expect more of the suspension, which as we know (I am at 13,200 kms on my Transalp) is not very high quality. You don't comment on the heavier wheel feeling, but I expect it will be noticeable at times - a sense of extra mass banging up and down against the suspension. One of the first modifications I do to my bikes is to reduce the unsprung weight (wheels and lower suspension) with lightweight fasteners, aluminium spacers/sprocket etc. There is also a heavy steel plate mounting each of the front calipers on the Transalp, and I intend remaking these in high-grade aluminium, before I start work on the suspension itself.
    The point I am making is that you have compromised the feel of the bike by fitting heavier tyres and tubes, to offset the risk of getting a puncture. Yes, getting a puncture is a PITA with tubed tyres, but usually happens only rarely, such that the suspension etc. 'feel' of your Transalp is compromised all the time, for something that happens rarely, or maybe never. I fitted STR Pirellis to mine as a compromise between road and dirt, which also added slightly to the unsprung weight, but the extra weight of the Mitas tyres and heavy tubes is, to me, too much of a compromise. Much of the pleasant handling of the Transalp is due to its minimal weight, both sprung and unsprung.
    But thanks for your tests; they are easy to listen to, and give a different perspective, being from eastern Europe. I enjoy your natural and honest presentation manner, and your high standard of English language. But the dumped rubbish problem in your country looks pretty bad through Australian eyes, seen in several videos (of yours and other's) from your country. We find the odd dump like that here, but not as bad as it appears in Rumania. A shame in such a beautiful setting.

      Thanks for the comment, highly appreciated your honesty. Since this race I've been doing more and more trainings and I was able to feel better the bike in even more stressful environments and I can say that off-road I don't feel the tyres so heavy and I can maneuver the bike at very low speeds (2 or 3 Km/h) with ease. I usually use few litres of petrol each time I ride off-road for better weight control (with 5 litres for example the bike goes back to it's initial weight before the accessories mount). On the street I feel the weight of the tyres especially in the corners due to the front profile that amplifies the strange feeling of turning with a 80/20 tyre. The fuel consumption hasn't increased and I am able to reach 3,8% or 3,9% even with this aggressive tyres. I look forward to share very soon my future off-road experience and the skill progress. The issues with the garbage it's especially present 50 Km around the big cities, usually a big city generates an enormously amount of waste, managing the waste it's not as good as in the western countries ; to this issues adds also the education of the population that throws away the plastics in the beautiful environment. Greetings 😉

    Ultra HD tubes will affect the acceleration and braking on the paved roads and will run much hotter thus reducing the tire life. Use lots of baby powder!

    THose tires and the tubes will add a lot of unsprung weight to your wheels...
    Also remember that the extra tire weight will make more heat in higher speeds...

    • @IdealBike
      @IdealBike  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      These tyres will be used off-road, hopefully on mountain roads. They are very stable on asphalt but only when riding straight, no wobbling on the front whatsoever at over 100 Km/h. Just made only 150 Km, need to finish them and come back to you with a proper feedback

    • @StoltHD
      @StoltHD หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@IdealBike - The high weight will generate more friction and by that more heat at speed, so be carefull on asfalt when the temperature raise... all I say... most likely everything will be just fine...
      I was thinking about the same tubes myself until I learned about the extra heat because of the weight, and I ride a bike that is a lot lighter and can't go as fast as your great TA.

I plan to fit the tires myself with tire irons.. so that should be fun! 🙈🤣 Question about the side panels: Is it not possible to remove side panels with the crashbars on?? It looks like there would be space? (Not tried it yet, weather is terrible, can't get bike out garage)

      Yes, need to make a video about it. They were absolutely perfect on the street, on the rain and on the light gravel (as little as I could riden them off-road). I sold them at 5800 Km with plenty of rubber left. Very good tyres as standard on a new bike

      That’s what a center stand is for. After 55 years riding bikes with tubes I can say that tubes have never been a problem for me. I have only had a couple flats. People need to stop airing down so far as to get pinch flats. Just ride the bike and stop worrying.

      The brakes are more than decent, tested on multiple surfaces. Ok, if you are a professional rider than you may wanna want more performance.
