Great video ! I have a question. Im just working on my master cylinder at this time, so what those two little valves under the reservoir? How they works? Just want to make sure I put all together properly
I have a problem with my 89 f600. There is no brake assist front or rear. The parking brake works so I assume pump is ok. If I step on the brakes hard, the electric motor kicks on but I still have no brake assist. Was working fine a year ago but has been parked. Fluids are all good. Any trouble shooting ideas?
To get the valve centered (light on dash off) loosen one brake line on the master cylinder and slowly push the brake pedal until the light goes off - if the light does not go off on the first brake line repeat the process on the other brake line. When the light goes off stop pushing the pedal and tighten the brake line. This will take two people.
Great video Kevin!! Question, doing this while it is still under the hood and still attached to the firewall, I'm sure brake fluid will be coming out and continue to flow out when you're removing the certain plugs/pins etc., Correct? How do you stop it when you're trying to remove that actuator pin, also I noticed the green O rings were pretty sloppy and moving around a lot inside the shaft area. I'm sure this is why light is staying on in my dash.
Excellent Video Kevin. That will really help a lot. I know way more about the WH Hydro Max system now. One question. Do you know the fitting and thread size needed for the plug if you need to take off one of the brake lines in attempts to push the plunger back to the correct position? Looks like yours was black and maybe plastic in this video. That may not work in real life but if you know the correct size I can put that in my parts bin and have it with me in case I need it. Thanks again for a great video.

Thank you for the kind words..
Not so brilliant just very curious....
This is what TH-cam is all about!! Thanks so much.
Thanks for watching
I have the same master cylinder. On mine, the plastic piece that has the plunger on it, broke off. I wonder if that is replaceable.

Another fantastic video!! Thank you Kevin!
I have the problem. Going to try the hammer method first.
After watching this video, I have a hint as to what to try
Another big ($)) savings video 👍
Let me know how it turns out for you.
Thank you for the explanation of the swithches function

Going by memory I thing they are just check valves that let the brake fluid into the cylinder but not back into the tank
So, it’s not important valve’s right. I had a hard time to put them back in and same time attach the gasket.
I wouldn't say that...
They are there for a reason but I'm not certain of what that is....

Amazing

Great idea thanks for contributing.
That's exactly what I was thinking....but are you supposed to apply something in the hole to keep it from seizing
So did you ever figure out a simple way to reset the sliding pin once brake pressure is equal in the system again?
I never had the chance. Let me know if you find a way that works.
Better than any shop…
Thank you
