Watch your video in class today. I appreciate the explanation and the break down. We are learning these systems and components. new and old but I just wanted stop by and say thank you.
Awesome video, I cant express how cool it is that you took it apart and understood its workings enough to explain it to us. Thank you for taking the time to do so!
Cheers for the Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Dinanlinson Energy Source Approach (probably on Google)? It is a smashing one off product for discovering super food to super charge your energy minus the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 after a lifetime of fighting got excellent success with it.
Thank you for doing this video! It was great and really helped me understand the Hydro-Max. I was also trying hard, unsuccessfully to find info about it online, when I came across your video.
Very similar to Delco Hy Power booster i rebuilt this year and customized for off-road use. The Delco has way fewer parts though. I machined mine to use common hydraulic seals.
Thanks for posting this. I have a 1999 Harney Renegade (Spartan Alpine Chassis) and it has one of these same units and now I know how it works. Thanks!
well got the 413 running smoothly -one turn starts right up and idles like new -now the brakes and i might just sell it "as is" after watching your video lol
@@KevinKalden my 71 winnebago -it was idle for about 20 years i miraculously got it running but the brakes are like chinese algebra under there and theres really no videos on how to troubleshoot or do anything with them -your videos great but im not quite as experienced a mechanic as you are so i figured if its giving you a hard time im better off passing altogether on the brakes lol
@@DanKirchner5150 I don’t think you will find the hydromax system on your rig. Most likely it will have vacuum assist brakes. My hydromax is out of a 1991 Georgia boy donor motorhome.
I had taken my hydro booster ( same type as yours) the spring fell out of the little tube, I can't believe that spring buts up to that plastic valve on the end of that springed shaft....you would think it would wear prematurely...I couldn't find an exploded diagram of this part. Also, I was wondering what the seal configuration was for the smaller shaft..fluid was leaking out of the smaller shaft....ty
Try looking at 1999southwind.coms site. They have good stuff on it and a parts breakdown. Thanks for watching my video and I hope you subscribe to my channel.
A little wear here, a little wear there and then poof no power brakes. Thanks for watching. Please consider subscribing to my channel and sharing the video.
Is there supposed to be a ball bearing some where, when I took mine apart there was a ball where the motor attaches to the hydro booster, where the oil flows on the oval plastic gaskets
I have the same boost for my Dump truck it makes noise like the fluid passes and a trickling sound. thank you for this information it should help me figure the beast out ? This problem may be 2 parts the brakes on both front wheels are locking up as well like a check valve is stuck . any Idea would help.
Sorry I have slept since making this video. Cant think of where there would be a check valve that would cause that. What causes the front brakes to release?
The return from the booster goes back to the hydraulic reservoir. Gulping? Not sure what you mean. Thanks for watching. Please consider subscribing to my channel.
Is it brake fluid or ATF? Either you master cylinder is bad or your booster is depending on which fluid you have. Thanks for watching please consider subscribing to my channel.
Hi! Thanks for great video! I have the same setup on my 95 International 1652 . Is there a seal kit for the hydro-max? I cant find one online anywhere .

If i am correct about what snap ring you mentioned no. It is most likely being held together by corrosion. Theoretically when you take the master cylinder off of the booster the guts should come out. I had the snap ring off when after soaking it with penetrating oil I drove it out and when i did the parts flew everywhere.

If I have red fluid in my booster does that mean the master cylinder has been leaking into the hydrobooster with a bad seal?
Good fix. My guess is that the blue plastic cone shrank a bit as it aged. Taking some length off of the rod make up for the shrinkage.

good video, the question is how to disarm?
What are you referring to?

Ahh one thing the return tube go down somewhere... there gulping why is that ? It is normal or need to fix it

Is there seal kit for that part ?
Mines leaking between the booster and the cylinder. Somehow fluid is getting out between the two surfaces ?

Aimless I’m running atf for the powersteering and it’s leaking atf !!
White Lamborghini goes skrrt skrrt sounds like it is the booster.
Hi! Thanks for great video! I have the same setup on my 95 International 1652 . Is there a seal kit for the hydro-max? I cant find one online anywhere .
I only had the booster a part and I think they were just o rings inside. I did not reseal mine.
@@KevinKalden The front seal or oring on the piston where it meets the master cylinder looks shot on mine. Right where the fluid channel is.
Ryan any luck with the o ring kit?

What sandpaper is it ? For little shave tube
Just a fine grit Emory cloth.
What is the throw length on the hydromax main pison?
Sorry I did not measure it. Thanks for watching the video.

@@KevinKalden i took a Hydromax from a Snap-on tool truck to use in a big forklift. I'm adapting seals to it. It's simpler in design than yours.
