Loved the recommendations. I have a few to shout out!!! Kasrkin- Edoardo Albert (kroot focus) Dark imperium - guy Haley (named greater deamons) The Lords of silence - Chris wraight (death guard 40k) Shroud of night - Andy Clark (alpha legion/sisters/imperial fists) Blood of Iax - Robbie macnieven (orks and ultramarines)
Maybe not the best for the Tyranids but Devastation of Baal has a lot of really cool Tyranid moments and parts. The bits about the lictor were so cool to read.
@@ReadersThatWargame So at first I was thinking AdMech or Tau, but the more I look into Horus Heresy, I'm thinking maybe Blood Angels (for loyal) or a few different Chaos/Traitor ones. BUT, now I've also started wondering if my 1st army should actually be 30k instead of 40k.
@bookswithbanks8943 Those are cool factions. I'm actually working on learning more about them too. The Blood Angel's are a lot of fun with some really cool books.
@@ReadersThatWargame I have not yet started with the game. But I have been around to a few stores nearby to see what's available, what pricing is like, when those stores host games and so on. So I haven't quite started gaming or painting yet, but I feel like I'm right on the brink!
For Deldar books, I think the Lelith book is really good but isn't a great starting point, you're pretty solid on the deldar omnibus as you said, but if you're looking for a great book to get their vibe that's lighter reading, you can't much beat Da Big Dakka.
Subscribed because I dig the content! I haven't played tabletop in over a dozen years, but I love the lore. Just finished Know No Fear by Abnett. Fantastic book!
Started a few weeks ago. With eisenhorn and ciaphas cain. My question is do you think it’s worth diving into all of the horus heresy once I get more of the other books under me
The short answer is eventually yes, but I always recommend easing yourself into the world before the lore deep dive. The Heresy has a lot of fantastic books but it's a big commitment.
@ thanks! That’s great news. Cause I’m really falling deep into this world lol. In a few short weeks. I’ve finished Xenos. The first 2 ciaphas Cain books. Heroes of the space marines collection and now halfway through crusades and other stories. I’ll read a few more. Maybe Gaunts ghosts. And a few other series before diving into Horus.

Love those shout outs! I may have to do a deeper dive because there are a lot for each faction.
The Infinite & The Divine seamlessly melds hilarity and tragedy.
It really does!

If you have recommendations, I'd love to read them.
Assasinorum kingmaker is a fantastic book for a knight player.
Its told from the assassins perspective but its covers allot to do with knights.
Night lords omnibus hands down best 40k books
I've heard that. I'll have to check it out.
As a newcomer to all of this, your video right here is easily one of the most helpful resources I've cone across. Thank you so much for making this!
I'm glad it was helpful. Do you have a faction you were thinking of starting with?

@@bookswithbanks8943 That's awesome! Those are all great factions. Are you also playing the Tabletop game too or just reading the books?

Storm of Iron is a great Iron Warriors book outside the HH
Good to know. That's one of the factions I want to learn more about.
I'm reading eisenhorn right now enjoying it so far though some of it is a little dry
Yeah it does have it's dry points

I've heard good things about that one.
so happy that i choose to read brutal kunnin. definetly not a piece of literature but it is so freaking funny. I also suggest it to everybody else
Yeah, but I would be worried if an Ork book was a literary marvel.

Thanks for joining us. I loved that book too!
That was so helpful thanks a lot!
Glad it helped!
Great Video dude!
Glad you enjoyed it

That sounds like a great plan. The Heresy is awesome and a major plot points, but don't feel like you have to lead with it in the reading order.
Twice Dead King is just a good book. 40k or not !
I've heard that one is good. The Necrons have a few good ones
It’s definitely 40k
