@Cliffjumper24 Yeah, the only thing I'm kinda "bummed" about is I'm about to retire my kitbashed Asurmen I made out of spare DA and Wraithblade bits. I think we'll see corsairs fleshed out only if and when we get a unified Vyper, Venom, and Starweaver model. Not necessarily in the same box, but just that the three are obviously supposed to be the same general platform, but they're wildly different sizes and the vyper is very... 90s. I get Vypers were originally attack bike analogs, but that's kind of where things went over the next 20ish years of lore and model evolution.
I'm sooo pleased to see this announcement!! With the exception of a couple of models (Yreil and Illic), it makes pretty much the entire Aeldari range a plastic one... which is definately about time because things like the Warp Spiders date back to 1992!! Like you, I was expecting a plastic Karandras... but maybe (hopefully) that'll be a one-off release mid to late 2025. I've always loved Karandras, so I'm chomping at the bit for a new model!! Thinking a few years into the future, and a 11th Ed release, I can imagine Corsairs getting more of a themed release to expand the rarities in the Space Elves. Perhaps we'll see more Corsair kits and Exodites, in the same way we've had a fully Kroot themed release this year for the Tau Empire. Maybe Exodites could be a Kill Team release, and a Corsair command unit and vehicle/vehicles to compliment them. I can imagine Exodites/Corsairs fitting in a 9th Detachment in the same manner as we've seen with the Inquisitorial Agents, which combines Breachers, Rogue Traders, Arbites, etc into a book of their own. I can imagine a 11th Ed system, where we see a Craftworlds Codex, and a seperate Harlequin/Ynnari/Corsairs/Exodites Codex to build more esoteric themed units and detachments. Whatever the case, in the short term, we have come really cool models to paint, and for those who never took the leap into metal/resin... theres going to be fun new gameplay strategies to explore!!
they have mentioned that the Warpspider Phoenix lord will buff the warpspider jumps to 24" range if i remember correctly. will be making a pure Aspect warrior list :D
Wow! I sure am excited! Just started collecting and painting warhammer and chose aledari/ynnari to build. Very cool about them getting their own detachment rules!
Absolutely fantastic reveals, and now i dont have to pretend my autarch is a PL without being in the Spider Squad ha. I do hope in the new dex they allow the Autarch with either wings or jump pack to join the relevant squad, i think they missed that last time. Fantastic sculpts all round and a great release. Fate dice i am happy with losing apart from Spirit Seer Det, as it really is seen as toxic by the oppo. Apparently Karandras was forgotten, supposed to be released along side the Kill Team Scorps but will be released along side the Codex.
I've said similar things given how Autarch's have walked all the paths or war. An Autarch Skyrunner should be able to lead some Shining Spears... Warp Jump Generator fitted ones with a Death Spinner joining Spiders, Fusion Gun Autarch's joining Fire Dragons. It would give them a much bigger theme, and encourage sales for more Autarch kits!

Wow, I sure am excited! Also it was stated in the livestream that Strands of Fate is moving to the Seer Council detachment, and Aeldari as a whole are getting Battle Focus as a way to focus on maneuverability. They don’t say what exactly that means (and I hope it’s not as busted as the old Battle Focus) but I’m excited to be able to play into the speed of the elves!
BTW, I’m pretty sure the “new” exarch options for hawks and spiders are the weapon options that were added in the 4th edition codex but never got a mini because those squads never got a refresh. The new swooping hawk gun may not end up being called a “sun rifle” but it clearly fits the same role as a high rate of fire option. I fully expect the new warp spider gun to be called a “spinneret rifle” and to be a higher-strength choice. Also, didn’t the very first fire dragon exarch model have an axe? That’s before my time, but also feels like reaching back to the history of the squad. AFAIK, all these options come from old Jets Goodwin concept art, which is cool.
Waited so long for this moment, and everything was better than I could've hoped for. I literally cried while watching the video the first 3 times. Also I miss scatter dice 😊
Did you ever tru dropping a Monofiiament Web from a brand new model of the Night Spinner, onto a swarm army, with the template hole over one unit, and hope it didn't scatter off a second unit right next to it, so two units were effected? I did this in a 5th Ed game with three units of 30 Ork Boys heading my way. There were so many, it was impossible not to land on something. You hoped it's be a hit, or the arrow was only deflected slightly with a low roll. In my game it was a Hit... so 60 boys were forced to make a difficult terrain test (slowing down their progress) if they moved.... AND had to take a Dangerous Terrain Test, meaning for ever '1', a model just died. With 60 dice to roll... it was just plain brutal!!
i really am excited. I can't wait to get a hold of the codex to see what the detachments do and see if ulthwe can be a thing; also ima run warp spiders in the list anyway cus they look SO much better. and that Phoenix lord :OOO
Finally!!! I’ve been waiting 30 years for Warp Spiders update. Also Swooping Hawks being my favorite unit in the game, I’ve been waiting for this refresh forever. They look fantastic. Overall so damn excited for this update!!! GW take my money!
So excited about the new models, thank you for the video and all your content. I'm surprised that you didn't consider Althansar as an possibility for the 6th Craftworld, as it already got rules in 9th.
I'm not sure if you caught the reveal video, but they dropped a few rules hints: - Dragons can ALL have flamers. I would hope that they are good flamers. Apparently the axe is srs bsnss. They specifically said they get full rerolls - though not the scenario that occurs in. - Swooping hawks will likely get flyover mortals back, and Baz will give them uppy downy which is good because 120pts for shoot and scoot feels bad. - Warp spiders Phoenix lord will allow them to charge after flicker jump. This makes the melee Exarch potentially a real play if the lord is also a big clapper in combat. Across the board I think we can expect increases on dragons, everything else is in the air. Would be surprised if the Warp Spider Exarch is the highest cost yet. Of course it's all without the context of detachment rules - speaking of - fate dice is going to be a detachment rule, and battle focus will become the army rule. If it's shoot and scoot like 9th, that is very good. It will be nice to have an army rule that I don't get taxed on left, right and center. Given the scope of the changes I wouldn't be surprised to see some very specific rule changes (like maybe the exarch's loadout may change the special rules of the unit).
I agree I think the tank chassis are fine and wouldn't hate a Vyper update. I'd want to see a Wraithseer frankly. I am stoked that the three aspect warriors are getting updated though. I only recently started collecting and have been holding out picking up the older models praying they'd get an update.
I'm really happy with all the new models, they look great! I like to take my time with painting, so if I get all the Eldar stuff I want it'll keep me going for ages!
I think we need rules where planes don't suck first! I have a lovely painted Crimson Hunter.... but I just don't use it when there's much better stuff to play in games.
Started an Eldar army this year. Have been holding off buying these Aspect warriors knowing they were coming. Really pleased with the refresh. I remember the 2nd Edition models and was shocked to see they hadn't been updated in 25+ years. But perhaps it is but the blink of an eye for a Farseer...
I’m so stoked about the new models. Can’t wait for the new codex. I’ve heard rumours of Corsairs coming this edition as a playable faction with a few more releases so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that. Either way, super happy with these updates. I feel like we have one of the best looking armies out there now. 🤘👍
The new spider lord looks great! And it's crazy to hear we're getting 8 Detatchments in the codex, plus maybe one close to Christmas I've heard? (though it might just be one of the 2 that haven't been announced)
I haven't played since 6th edition and got rid of my models 3 times. I have currently started building a new army and I was a big Warp spider runner, in 2nd edition. With the new sculpts I can run them again! Finally!
I think a Corsair detachment would be possible. What i think would be cool would be to some how let the voidreavers or voidscarred use venoms or raiders like kabaltes with firing decks. Give them a unique playstyle and let us use those big guns the corsairs have!
Thanks, Brent, for the video. I love the new model sculpts and Pheonix Lords. Platic is the way. My spider models are looking out of date compared to the new scorpions and guardians 😅. Now we have to see what the Codex reveals and if the shining spears get a pheonix lord.
Oh my wallet! What a time to be an Aeldari player. Been holding off on the aspect models waiting for a refresh.. didn't expect them to all come at once
I think with the Asurmen I would magnetize the head. He would look pretty cool with no helmet, and there has to be some usable heads coming out in one of the new sets....
Yaaaaaay! It's been sad watching literally everyone in my meta get their special day and Deathguard and Aeldari (my two) have got nothing until now. Fingers crossed for that Corsair one -- I have 25 corsairs, Yvraine, the Visarch, Prince Y and love them!
9:30. In the reveal they confirmed this was a sunpistol. they also mentioned the hawk's talon so presumably both the sunrifle and hawk's talon will also be options
Nice to find your channel. Im looking at starting an Aeldari army. I was wondering whether its worthwhile buying the index card deck or should i just wait for the new codex and new datacard pack?
I would love Corsairs. ill 3d print warp effects for the warp spiders. I am not sure how excited i am. I should be. but i have not played since 10th dropped. so its hard to get truly excited. i will buy one of each squad to have the models for my massive collection.
Will be buying them all at some point even if I'm not as excited as some I think they are very clean, nice-looking models, but I also feel like they played the sculpts very safe as well Although, I absolutely love the phoenix lords
Why wouldn’t they play it safe? The aesthetics of these units are already iconic and fantastic. They don’t need to reinvent them, just modernize them and improve the posing and scale.
@adamshumate8858 it's just my personal opinion at the end of the day is all 🤷♂️ I've seen them take chances with other Aspects over the years, but Hawks and Dragons have always been pretty stable, and this is only the Spiders' second outing after all 😅 The Hawk Helmets have always just felt like they lack something, and need to see the wings in person before I can decide on those The Dragons armour feels like it should be slightly more ornate, but just a little more, like a scale design on the shoulder or greaves, maybe And the spiders would have looked epic with maybe little cracking webs coming off them representing the warp jump like the phoenix lord, but very small scale
@@stephen_langdon The fire dragons should really look a bit thicker than the other aspects since lore wise they have the thickest armour of all the aspects, which sadly is not reprisented in game. As for the warp spiders some of the normal models do have a little bit of crackling on their feet if you look closely
Great models. Waiting for Karandras to show up and also I think the dire avengers require a renewal too I heard rumours about the new aeldari combat patrol: it will have guardians, a spiritseer, wraithblades and warp spiders. These are still rumours, but are Valrak's rumours so highest chance to become true
My first aspects were warp spiders (made of lead) and got the exarch when the new tin alloy was introduced. They were an abosulte terror on 2nd ed tabletops. I then also got the original swooping hawks and later some finecast versions of the updates which I thought were abysmal (obviously not Jes Goodwin's work). After plastic Jain Zar was released I sold all of those about 2 years ago along with some rogue trader-era harlequins knowing that everything would eventually become plastic. I only kept my Dire Avengers which were already plastic and because I have a thing for tall crested helms. I've had to summon the patient fortitude of an Autarch waiting for this release but I have since grown fond of my aspect-free Alaitoc army full of rangers and jetbikes. I'll get Asurmen but I can't decide if the new swooping hawks are better than the warp spiders. Either way my wallet will be skinny when these go live.
I’m most excited for Asurmen as I think he’s the coolest PL. Kinda bummed the back banner wasn’t just an update of the old design, but oh well. The biggest rip is no Karandras.
Was hoping that the Warp Spider Phoenix Lord would have four Doctor Octopus arms with blades and guns on the end, but still, a 9/10 Aeldari release. Bahharoth looks majestic as heck. Though ... my opinion will probably change when the cost for each one releases, heh
I’ve heard the rumor that Karandras got missed for this phase because the scorpions got refreshed off-cycle in Kill Team and nobody was thinking about them when they were planning model releases. So he’s much further back on the release schedule than everything else.
For the corsair transport question, I would be content if we were allowed to use them with the awesome catamaran pirateship gw is already selling! Untill that day, my poor Tantalus crew needs to keep pretending to be kabalites… Anyways, super excited for all the new models!
Now you need a new karandras AND the phenix lord of the shining spears please ^^ And maybe a biel-tan and saim hann characters could be nice too ^^ But yeah... i'm so going to buy all of those !
This is a total "shut up and take my money" moment. I run Ulthwe but I still want some of all of these aspects on my shelf. Also gives me really good vibes for if/when they do shadow spectres again. The models here are just all beautiful.
As it stands, you are correct; giving melee weapons to a squad Exarch is useless unless the squad in question is consists of melee-oriented Aspect Warriors (Howling Banshees, Shining Spears, Striking Scorpions). In my mind, what giving an Exarch a melee weapon is meant to do is to ensure that the squad doesn't get rolled in melee, but the implementation is poor because they will die before they ever get to use it if they are charged due to the squishiness stereotypical of the faction. What I think needs to happen is that all Aspect Warrior units should have Fights First innately. Aeldari are supposed to have greater reflexes and speed than Astartes, so it wouldn't be entirely without precedence. Lets take Dire Avengers as an example; the Dire Avenger Exarch can either get a Diresword (A3, WS 3+, S4, AP -2, D1, Devastating Wounds) or a Power Glaive (A3, WS 3+, S5, AP -2, D1). Every Aspect Warrior unit has some type of melee weapon such as this that their Exarch can receive, and this would allow them to take out some attacking models to potentially mitigate losses in the Fight phase. I personally would like to see the statlines buffed for Exarch melee weapons. Using the Dire Avenger Exarch as an example again, I think the statlines should be closer to the following: Diresword (A5, WS 2+, S4, AP -2, D1, Devastating Wounds) Power Glaive (A3, WS 2+, S5, AP -2, D2) This would add more distinction to the two melee options and it wouldn't be too strong by any stretch. Exarchs are legendary warrior in their own right who have completely mastered their particular Aspect; they should be hitting on a 2+ in melee and ranged unless they have a uniquely large and cumbersome weapon (which should be compensated for with increased strength such as seen with the Scorpion's Claw wielded by Striking Scorpion Exarchs. This would really give players a reason to choose something other than the extra gun on their range-oriented Aspect Warrior Exarchs, and it would make opponents have to genuinely consider whether it is worth the losses to charge the squad. It isn't like Aeldari are durable, so you'd still be able to take them out with the Bolt Pistols on your Assault Marines. I understand there could be concern of how much of a combat buff this could be for the more melee-oriented Aspect Warriors, but the three I mentioned above are the weakest Aspect Warriors that are currently available; they could each stand to receive a buff. As for how you would compensate Howling Banshees for no longer have Fights First reserved exclusively for them, I think they should instead receive an ability (and this is the same ability that the Autarch would get if they have a Howling Banshee Mask) that prevents enemy units within 9" of the Howling Banshee unit from being targeted by Stratagems used by the opposing player. This would prevent Overwatch and I believe it's more applicable than Battleshock; they aren't making you run away, they're merely dazzling you with their acrobatics and their screams while they get the drop on you. Oh, the Fights First thing should also apply to Autarchs and Phoenix Lords.
The article says 8 detachment but the live said 7. We didn’t get the rumored Corsair one, so who knows. Might be an error or internal miscommunication and they are trying to hide it (it would make sense if the rumors for the new corsair minis are true).
The tank designs are kind of timeless, but if we're being honest they really need a facelift. Updating the basic Falcon kit would also take care of the Falcon variants.
To me it breaks down as Index, psychic, jet bikes, aspect warriors, Ynnari, Harlequins, wraith detachment which they’ve stated is coming, outcast detachment with rangers and stuff. Also they have said they are adding 30 new detachments to the game with a Christmas advent calander thing, so it’s possible we get a full Corsair detachment there.

Wow I sure am excited!
Wow, I sure am excited.
This guy gets it.
Now I want Corsair Assault Gun-Ships
It's crazy to me the pirate guys can't go in the Dark Eldar boats.
they have mentioned that the Warpspider Phoenix lord will buff the warpspider jumps to 24" range if i remember correctly.
will be making a pure Aspect warrior list :D
@@Cliffjumper24 hard agree. my current self insert Autarch just zips around with his jump pack on his hown doing actions and not a right lot else xd
@@smoothgarak9537 Yeah, the Autarch models are really georgeous... I have have 4 painted with an extra pair to paint because I just love the models so much!

One of the warp spider infantry units have the warp lightning going on. He's leaning forward like the momentum just stopped
i really am excited. I can't wait to get a hold of the codex to see what the detachments do and see if ulthwe can be a thing; also ima run warp spiders in the list anyway cus they look SO much better. and that Phoenix lord :OOO
Yes! The Aeldari are reborn!
Feeling gluttonous today with this beautiful announcement.
Finally!!! I’ve been waiting 30 years for Warp Spiders update. Also Swooping Hawks being my favorite unit in the game, I’ve been waiting for this refresh forever. They look fantastic. Overall so damn excited for this update!!! GW take my money!
That's really ,k really cool. A new Barrorath and copmletely new PL is right up there in my most anticipated stuff list.
So excited about the new models, thank you for the video and all your content. I'm surprised that you didn't consider Althansar as an possibility for the 6th Craftworld, as it already got rules in 9th.
As an Altansar player, that'd be awesome but the WD article leaned a little heavy into Altansar being heavily Ynnari. So who knows.
I'm not sure if you caught the reveal video, but they dropped a few rules hints:
- Dragons can ALL have flamers.
Glad to hear you believe Karandras model is coming soon.
I'm surprised not too see Karandras too.
Maybe the CAD was delayed, so we'll see him pop up later in 2025.
Fingers crossed!
I'm really happy with all the new models, they look great! I like to take my time with painting, so if I get all the Eldar stuff I want it'll keep me going for ages!
Now we need a crimson hunter phoenix lord
Agreed Brent, just awesome all round. So excited but boy am I fearing for my wallet hahah
Looking forward to models being in stock again. But still very nostalgic for the old models. Also just like the feel of picking up a metal model.
This is way more than I was hoping for, warp spiders *AND* character?
I never expected that! Did you?
I am beyond pleased
Super excited for the new models but even more so for the codex
The new spider lord looks great!
And it's crazy to hear we're getting 8 Detatchments in the codex, plus maybe one close to Christmas I've heard? (though it might just be one of the 2 that haven't been announced)
I haven't played since 6th edition and got rid of my models 3 times. I have currently started building a new army and I was a big Warp spider runner, in 2nd edition. With the new sculpts I can run them again! Finally!
Lhykhis is stunning. I can't wait for her & new Spiders.
I think a Corsair detachment would be possible. What i think would be cool would be to some how let the voidreavers or voidscarred use venoms or raiders like kabaltes with firing decks. Give them a unique playstyle and let us use those big guns the corsairs have!
Wow! I sure am excited!
Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.
Thanks, Brent, for the video. I love the new model sculpts and Pheonix Lords. Platic is the way. My spider models are looking out of date compared to the new scorpions and guardians 😅. Now we have to see what the Codex reveals and if the shining spears get a pheonix lord.
Yes yes YES! Can't wait for the lore for Lhykis. Even got the video out before Proxey 😅
Indeed, and they could be used on other models too.
That Fusion Gun/pistol would look really good on an Autarch/Wayleaper!
Yaaaaaay! It's been sad watching literally everyone in my meta get their special day and Deathguard and Aeldari (my two) have got nothing until now. Fingers crossed for that Corsair one -- I have 25 corsairs, Yvraine, the Visarch, Prince Y and love them!
Aeldari have been eating good the last two editions. Timing is just a bit late in the Ed.
@@FeatsDaily I jumped on mid 9th. How long do editions last? If we get this then in 6 months we're onto 11th that will be annoying.
Hey, GW pronounced it Fway gen themselves today!
Yeah, fantasy words almost never follow English conventions, and it seems obvious to me that his name is a play on "fuego".
The new sculpts all look so good! Glad that the current warp spiders models are finally not old enough to drink
im just happy we are done with finecast and all in plastic finallyi think it all looks amazing
Been waiting all of 9h and 10th for this. I’ll take two , please! 😂
great video. so exchided to see the new release!!!
9:30. In the reveal they confirmed this was a sunpistol. they also mentioned the hawk's talon so presumably both the sunrifle and hawk's talon will also be options
They decide on a scatter laser instead of the sun rifle
Yeah, the reveal called the other gun option a scatter laser. Seems a little odd to change it, but it should still fill a comparable role.
I hope its a cronesword on Lycos. Getting the last out of Slaanesh's grasp would be a great intro for her into the current lore
Wow, I sure hope there’s a wraith detachment 😅
Lemmie guess... most of your Space Elves are yellow and blue?! Heh heh!!
Nice to find your channel. Im looking at starting an Aeldari army. I was wondering whether its worthwhile buying the index card deck or should i just wait for the new codex and new datacard pack?
@@ratelmike8825 definitely wait for the codex- the whole index is free online
I would love Corsairs. ill 3d print warp effects for the warp spiders. I am not sure how excited i am. I should be. but i have not played since 10th dropped. so its hard to get truly excited. i will buy one of each squad to have the models for my massive collection.
Will be buying them all at some point even if I'm not as excited as some
I think they are very clean, nice-looking models, but I also feel like they played the sculpts very safe as well
Although, I absolutely love the phoenix lords
Why wouldn’t they play it safe? The aesthetics of these units are already iconic and fantastic. They don’t need to reinvent them, just modernize them and improve the posing and scale.
@adamshumate8858 it's just my personal opinion at the end of the day is all 🤷♂️
I've seen them take chances with other Aspects over the years, but Hawks and Dragons have always been pretty stable, and this is only the Spiders' second outing after all 😅
The Hawk Helmets have always just felt like they lack something, and need to see the wings in person before I can decide on those
The Dragons armour feels like it should be slightly more ornate, but just a little more, like a scale design on the shoulder or greaves, maybe
And the spiders would have looked epic with maybe little cracking webs coming off them representing the warp jump like the phoenix lord, but very small scale
Waiting for Karandras to show up and also I think the dire avengers require a renewal too
I heard rumours about the new aeldari combat patrol: it will have guardians, a spiritseer, wraithblades and warp spiders. These are still rumours, but are Valrak's rumours so highest chance to become true
if there is a melle weapon, my Altansar is gonna use it
Just finishing up my banshees listening to this...better clear the rest of my backlog before these models come out!
Untill that day, my poor Tantalus crew needs to keep pretending to be kabalites…
Anyways, super excited for all the new models!
Hell yeah Warp Spiders have always been my favorite aspect finally got a lord! I kinda hope she is a lone operative tbh.
Love this, also bring back scatter dice please haha!
Now you need a new karandras AND the phenix lord of the shining spears please ^^
And maybe a biel-tan and saim hann characters could be nice too ^^
But yeah... i'm so going to buy all of those !
Using the Dire Avenger Exarch as an example again, I think the statlines should be closer to the following:
Diresword (A5, WS 2+, S4, AP -2, D1, Devastating Wounds)
Power Glaive (A3, WS 2+, S5, AP -2, D2)
This would add more distinction to the two melee options and it wouldn't be too strong by any stretch.
I think I hear pancreasnowork being summoned from the Webway.
This looks AMAZING!!
That Baharoth is going to make a great Autarch when you put a Banshee Mask on him and a Dragon Fusion Gun! Sad we got Scorpions but no Karadras.
FD exarch also have 3rd loadout - flamer)) About PL Spiders - her rule allow charge after flicerjump...
I love getting to know things, especially when they are space elf things~!
Court of the Young King! What we need now is a CotyK unit that we can put different Exarchs in and load them out with close combat options.
