Julian Poole sorry but I have to disagree with your opinion, the 930 was and always will be a legend, the 964 perfected that shape, the 993 moved the technology on a level although the shape softened up the style a little, the 996 wasn’t looking good for the 911 but the turbo/C4S/gt3 saved face, the 997 got its edge back and made some of the best turbo/gt3’s ever !! It also introduced the PDK which to this day is the best gearbox out there, the 991 got noticeably bigger but the look and engineering couldn’t be argued with, the 991.2 worried all of us with the introduction of turbo charged Carrera models but this became the norm throughout all manufacturing in this era, the 992 is another step up again with pure excitement, looks and breathtaking performance, the recently announced turbo s is on another level and we can’t wait to see what the GT3/GT3RS brings....... in my opinion the porsche 911 just keeps getting better and better, yes singers are exceptional but they blend old stying with new technology and unfortunately this comes at a ridiculous price, it’s only a matter of time before all Porsche’s are completely electric so let’s all remember how this legend started and evolved over the years, I think every model over the last 50 years is a masterpiece in its own right !!
Today I made a testdrive in an 992 while my 997.2 Turbo manual got it’s service. What a good car the 992 is, but not more fun then my 997. Especially the sound response to the throttle was a bit artificial in the 992.
@alexanderdepooter nice vid however you should’ve compared the 991.2 with the 992. Much closer in performance and style. The 991.1 looks dated in comparison. 997.2 is a classic ride.
Could you compare a 991.2 4 to a 992. I currently own a 991.2 Targa 4 just want to see the difference between the 2 models especially since the 991.2 has a similar rear grill, has a light bar and is wider.
I owned a 997.1 then progressed to the 991.1 it was a massive leap forward I felt that the 997.1 was dated in many areas.. I like the styling of the 992 but not so much the sound of the engine this is a retrograde step for the Porsche experience in my opinion. I will be sticking with my 991.1 it only has 24k miles on the clock and has already become a modern classic ... thanks for the videos they are very informative and entertaining 👍
@@Btc1ml My favourite is 991.2 . I dont buy 992's rectangular black plastic shapes being "more aggressive", or designwise more appealing. Same goes for few other spots, like exhaust area, bonnet, or like interior door design.
991, and now the 992 frog Porsche are definitely not my jam. Give me a 997.1 with a 991.2 interior and the 700hp powertrain package, then slap on the 992 hood and headlights as well as update the rest of the lights to look more modern internally while maintaining their external shape. Barring that, give me a 964 with the aero and suspension updates of the 996/997, same idea with updating the lights internally/stylistically without changing their shape, give it a "plush race car" interior with just the gauges, stalks, knobs, etc (no screens or radio), and the 500hp NA 4L hooked to a 3-pedal 6 or 7-speed manual and RWD only.
Bought my 2018 Miami Blue GT3 Touring from Tommy J. at Braman from long distance. Nice dealership to work with. I currently have three 911s, it’s an addiction.
I'm not a fan of red interior either, however I do think the black and red Bordeaux red interior is the best one, rather then the full red interior. I stuck with black for my GT silver 992s, would have loved the crayon stitching but too expensive for $6500AUD, felt better spending money on other options.
I don't like how they keep dragging the headlights and taillights higher up the body. Couple that with setting the headlights wider, too, and it just makes the 992 look like a frog. Pretty soon, it'll have the proportions of a Cayenne to match.
997 will be the next classic! like the 964
997 is a classic. Perfect dimensions
997 looks the best. The 992 looks like an electronic bread maker.
Porsche, the iconic 911 timeless and relevant with every new evolution. Bravo
You have a great channel, Alex - I’m really enjoying your videos.
The exterior and interior colour comparisons are unique and very much appreciated.
Dear Frank, truly appreciate your kind words! Thank you so much for watching!

it seems that Grant Larson gets credit for the 997 design.
Hi Alexander, I hope you r still working with Porsche to answer few questions about the GT2 RS and GT3 RS.

For me the best Porsche 911 still is the 993 Turbo S...
Thanks Porsche guy I enjoyed the History lesson

997 is much better than 991.

Dear Closer to truth, thank you for the kinds words. 👍🏻
I will never understand red interior...
Porschession i think it looks good with a silver body and black wheels
