    I wanted to say THANK YOU for all you do and for this TH-cam channel. I started an Sign Language Small Group at our church a year ago to teach more people how to sign, so that the deaf that come can have a community of people to talk to-not just me and 2 others that know some signs. It's been such a success because of your channel as a resource for sign review at home and to generate topics for weekly discussions. I can't say THANK YOU enough!

    So thankful for you guys! My youngest son just turned two and we found out a few months ago that he was deaf. He has cochlear implants now, but his use of sign is amazing now thanks to your help! Thank you so much for all you do!
    Also I absolutely adore everything you wear, where is that cute cardigan and turtleneck from those are my absolute favorite colors!

    I have been learning ASL for quite some time just on my own off and on, but my desire to learn more has become a passion. I'm now signed up for my Community College to start by obtaining my certification. Our Fall semester starts tomorrow...8/22/22! I'm so excited!! I stoped saying each letter. Instead, I began to sound out each letter. It helps me to recognize the word before I finish sounding out all the letters. Now I'm working more on sighting the work rather then sounding out. It's a slow process, but it's working.

    Hello. I love your videos. Thank you so much for making them. They are so easy to understand and very informative. I have watched quite a lot of them and am taking your ASL course on SkillShare. I had started to learn ASL because I love watching people communicate using it. I think it is a beautiful language. My step daughter and I started learning together and were practicing signing to each other. But now I am getting a little ahead of her. I think she is losing interest. Which is fine but I want to keep going. So my question. I do not know anyone that is deaf or hard of hearing. What is the best way to get your foot in the door with the deaf community?
    You mentioned college classes. I am in college to be a graphic designer and my college does offer many ASL courses. But they are expensive and not covered by tuition since they are not part of my major ( I think all languages she be part of any major because they can always come in handy for any job). Thank you very much. I appreciate you and all the work you put into your videos.

    • @LearnHowtoSign
      @LearnHowtoSign  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! College classes are great but I realize cost is a big factor. I would check online to see if your town has a local interpreting agency or Deaf church that offers community classes. These are typically much less expensive. Also attending Deaf events or Deaf church is a great way to take that next step. Hope you can find something that works.

    Hi, is sign language universal? I live in Norway, so will the signs that you teach on this channel mean the same in norwegian sign language?
    Each word is connected to a specific sign, so if I just translate a english word to norwegian - then the sign would mean the same. Is that right or just a wierd question on my part?🤔

    • @LearnHowtoSign
      @LearnHowtoSign  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is not a universal sign language. ASL is used in the US and Canada. ASL might have influence on some sign language around the world. For instance, France had a major impact on ASL when it was developed.
