I originally started learning ASL because I used to have deaf coworkers. I'm still trying to learn because it's fun, rewarding, and I want to be able to communicate with others better. I've noticed other hearing people have this tendency to dismiss the idea that deaf people aren't all that uncommon, but they're all around- and I think they deserve to be heard more. I may not be able to just learn a full language, but even if I never gain full fluency I can at least make someone's day a little brighter anyway.

I hope you are still having classes on TH-cam. Everyone I see when I search for learning ASL has videos that their last showing was between 1and 9 years ago. Please let me know if you are. All your videos are excellent! Thanks so much! I do Occupational Therapy in my day job. Here are some common directives/statements etc: "Goals for this group are improve focus, Coping skills and positive behavior" "What are your goals?" "Do you/can you/ want to/need to/ did you shave, brush your teeth, shave, wash your hands, wash your face, take a bath, shower, dress/put on your clothes", "Stand up please" "Did you take your medicine" "are you dizzy/sleepy/hungry" "What do you like to do?" "games/toys/basketball/cards/gardening/etc" "What is the day of the week/month/year/date/US President/city/state, country/etc?" I know you've covered most of these on many of the videos I've seen but I didn't know if it would be helpful to put together. In my evening job I am a martial arts instructor and personal trainer. A fitness video would be cool. "pushups" "run" "kick" "punch" "Block" "hold" "self defense" "stretch" "Attention stance" "stance" "relax" "lift" "Bench Press" "chest muscles" "Back muscles" "back Row" "pulldowns" "pullups" "sit ups" etc
Thanks for your wealth of information!
    To new adventures!
