THANK YOU for getting right to the point. It’s SO frustrating trying to find an instructional video, almost every single one has several minutes worth of needless backstory/ introduction.
Thank you for this. I knew how to M1R but needed a quick refresher since I hadn’t done it in a while. I appreciate videos like yours that are short and get right to the point for those of us who just need a quick reminder, rather than having to watch a 10 minute video with lots of blabbing, for the tiny bit of information that we seek. There aren’t enough short, quick and to the point knitting videos. Your’s was just right.
We're still watching!!! Thank you for the very clear instructions. And yes, you make it look so easy! I knit tighter than you do so creating a M1R and M1L is a nightmare though it is getting easier the more of them I do.
When she said this I self doubted myself and was like well that was easy but she says I am probably doing it wrong…. If I was her I wouldn’t of said that
Thank you for your nice short video. I watch it as a refresher before starting any increases. I agree that they are "difficult" stitches to get your needle through, and marvel that some find them easy 🤔
I found this video extremely helpful and completely agree when you say the M1R can be tricky. For me personally, because I have naturally tight tension I find the M1R quite difficult to get my right hand needle under the lifted stitch, once the needle is actually in I have no problems, when I first started learning this stitch I used to have to do it with the help of a 0.2mm steel crochet hook, just so I could pull the yarn through! I think difficultly is based on lots of different factors and what's easy for some will be more difficult for others and vice versa.
I think this tutorial it's PERFECT. In my pattern I had exactly this same sequence of 1 K between marks stiches and M1R K1 and M1L. And very clear explanation and video. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm still new to knitting but like to throw myself into the deep end and I love how you explain this. Will definitely be coming back for future knitting projects.
So much easier to lift the 'bar' with the left needle. When I do it with the right needle, I always get mixed up about how to put it back on the left needle!
thank you so much for your video I'm teaching. myself how to knit and this pattern I'm working on is for these stitches, you've made it so easy and you get right to the point thank you again.
Thank you! I was trying to do this from written instructions that made no sense at all to me, even though I'm an experienced knitter. And I ended up with a line of weird holes to boot! 😄
Thanks for making this vid!! This is EXACTLY what I needed to see -- I'm knitting my first sweater poncho/cape and needed a video that clearly shows the increases in context of a center stitch with 2 diagonal increases going outwards. Thanks so much -- now let's hope this thing comes out. :)
I use this to remember: “I’ll be right back” = go in through the back for a M1R. “I left the front door open.” Go in through the front to M1L. (Credit to Stephen West)
Great video but most are watching to find a way to remember how you place the bar on the needle. Good way to remember would be the m1r leans to the right and the m1l leans to the left;)
Hi, question - how do you START this M1RM1L triangle? You showed both sides increases, but I would like to make exactly this tringle. Thank you, great video
It would be helpful to note that when picked up and placed onto the left needle, the M1R slants to the right, and the M1L slants to the left. Also trying to see what you're doing around those huge stitch markers is a pain. Just sayin'.
Nice video....but I wouldn't say, "it's pretty difficult" to do. Yes I'm a new knitter, but...both of these stitches are pretty straightforward. Just my opinion....:)
I think she it just saying the stitch should not slide on easily. If you are putting the needle tip in the back of the new stitch correctly you will feel some resistance, meaning it’s pretty difficult to do the stitch as opposed to a normal stitch.
thank you for sharing. I'm new to knitting. is there a video tutorial to what you are making? I love that yarn color and I would like to learn the pattern your doing.
You should not be saying if it’s easyvyou are probably doing it wrong! It’s not hard and it might make someone think something easy is not done properly and all the time they nailed it. Again ~ it’s an easy stitch!
one question: you show just one knitting row, but how does it come in the next row? do you again make the increases or do you just knit the row with the same stitch? in case you again do the increases, the one that was right you do it right again, and the left you do it left again thanks!!
Barbara, It would depend on the pattern you are following. In the swatch she was knitting, she Did increase Every row right where the stitch markers were....that's how each row was longer and she was achieving that triangle swatch. And about the question you asked,"the one that was right do you do it right again....etc" Yes! Basically, she keeps increasing at the same point in the row. I hope I helped you out:) Good luck!
Thank you very much. I have a question about the first row of a project with increase. In the video you made some rows and then you shared this video. But how is the beginning? thank you very much I always watch your videos and I really like them. Thank you :D
Binky D'Eath hi there! Can you please explain exactly where the two stitch markers go? I cast on 3 stitches then where do I put the markers? I think I understand the pattern, except for when and where the markers go. Thank you for your help.
I followed the steps of m1r and m1l I learned it and thank you, what I’m asking for is the pattern of what you’re making, which seems to be a shawl. It’s not on any of the videos on the site. Thanks!
THANK YOU for getting right to the point. It’s SO frustrating trying to find an instructional video, almost every single one has several minutes worth of needless backstory/ introduction.
Yesssss! That drives me crazy! I don't need to know your whole childhood story and what you ate for breakfast before you show me what I need to know!😂
I sooooo agree with this, some people just love to hear themselves talk.
This is the first video that shows how to place the markers when making M1r and M1l. THANK YOU!
Best instructional video. After sifting through way too many, your video was concise and easy to follow. Thanks!
We're still watching!!! Thank you for the very clear instructions. And yes, you make it look so easy! I knit tighter than you do so creating a M1R and M1L is a nightmare though it is getting easier the more of them I do.
"If it feels easy you're probably doing it wrong" hahaha
I was thinking, ooohh I will do this wrong too, like all others I have tryed. I don't get raglan...
Lol i MUST be doing it wrong, as I struggle to see where exactly the complicated part is. Have more faith in us, peons 😅
When she said this I self doubted myself and was like well that was easy but she says I am probably doing it wrong…. If I was her I wouldn’t of said that
Thank you! This is the simplest video that I have watched! I can breathe now!
Thank you for your nice short video. I watch it as a refresher before starting any increases. I agree that they are "difficult" stitches to get your needle through, and marvel that some find them easy 🤔
This is the absolute best, clearest video showing these increases. THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for getting right to the point and demonstrating so clearly. Absolutely great little video!!!
“If that feels pretty comfortable for you you’re probably doing it wrong” so funny but so true M1R for me always feels a bit tight and tricky.
Great video...I'm starting a sweater and it calls for these stitches. Really clear instructions! Thank you.

You are so welcome! I'm so glad it was helpful!
Thank you! I was trying to do this from written instructions that made no sense at all to me, even though I'm an experienced knitter. And I ended up with a line of weird holes to boot! 😄

Thank you so much for your video. Clear and simple.
Wonderful, clear video. Thank you. I would like to know how to start the very beginning to make this triangle shape.
Saved my bacon, thank you. Easy to see, and demonstrated beautifully.😊
Thank you for getting straight to the point!!
I use this to remember:
“I’ll be right back” = go in through the back for a M1R.
“I left the front door open.” Go in through the front to M1L.
(Credit to Stephen West)
m1R : 0:39
m1L : 1:59
woow thank you so much, i finally understood it after watching like 10 videos!
That's awesome! Glad it helped!
I've been making 2' right, well ya learn from your mistakes.Thank you for the demonstration.
Thanks for getting right to the point without a ton of backstory
Bravo to those of you who find this stitch easy! I felt SO MUCH BETTER when I heard otherwise. It's awkward AF ;)
😆
Thanks again, have a bless day and Happy New Year🍇🎉🪅
Thanks! Very easy for me... Greetings from Chile ❤
Thank you, short, sweet and clear!
Great video but most are watching to find a way to remember how you place the bar on the needle. Good way to remember would be the m1r leans to the right and the m1l leans to the left;)
Newby here; you saved the day! Thx!❤️
Finally a very clear One 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Yo quisiera saber cómo se empieza el chal, está muy bien explicado los aumentos , gracias saludos 🇦🇷
This is an extremely helpful video. I have watched it so many times! Do you have a video on i-Cord?
Thank you very concise just what I needed
Awesome u teach very well Plz tell me whole poncho step by step in knitting
Great tutorial and well explained. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'd say if you're following this video it's pretty difficult to get it wrong tbh
Thank you for this video! You described and showed us this stitch perfectly!
Thank you ! I am starting my first shawl and am so happy I found your instructions. I feel more confident now to start.
Hi, question - how do you START this M1RM1L triangle? You showed both sides increases, but I would like to make exactly this tringle. Thank you, great video
Lovely yarn!
Thank you- following pattern and they never explained when to slip markers- so I was increasing in wrong place
Thank you, very clear and helpful
It looks super easy to me!
So well explained!
Thank you! Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you! ❤
It would be helpful to note that when picked up and placed onto the left needle, the M1R slants to the right, and the M1L slants to the left. Also trying to see what you're doing around those huge stitch markers is a pain. Just sayin'.
Thanks so much! Have saved this!
Thank you! I haven't encountered this stitch yet, but I'm sure I will soon.
I would like to know the pattern for this sample. I love you website.
Very well done! Thank you!
Hi. I'm curious to know what kind of knitting needle brand, you use? Thank you.
If you end up with a gaping hole after the M1L stitch, does that mean you’ve accidentally created a Yarn-Over?
Nice video....but I wouldn't say, "it's pretty difficult" to do. Yes I'm a new knitter, but...both of these stitches are pretty straightforward. Just my opinion....:)
Yeah that’s how I felt when she said it was supposed to be difficult like I feel like it’s pretty straightforward
Same. It’s not difficult. Her explanation is fantastic.
Exactly. Its easy
I completely agree with this. Very misleading comment.
I think she it just saying the stitch should not slide on easily. If you are putting the needle tip in the back of the new stitch correctly you will feel some resistance, meaning it’s pretty difficult to do the stitch as opposed to a normal stitch.
*Very, very beautiful*
how would this look if you only did it every second round of knitting? would it still work?
Very,very helpfull.Love this tutorial.It’s crystalclear .Thx!!!
hi, i have a question and need some help chat if I drop my m1l and m1r for 2 rows how do I fix this?
such good instruction! Thanks!!!
right on point! can’t thank you enough!!!!!!
Would it be different on the pearl side?
Thank you for this tutorial, I much prefer the M1R M1L to yarn overs. Now, I just need to practice.🌻
thank you for sharing. I'm new to knitting. is there a video tutorial to what you are making? I love that yarn color and I would like to learn the pattern your doing.
Thank you! Very clear.😊
Hello mam how did you start from inbetween without your starting point
What circular kneedles are you using?
You should not be saying if it’s easyvyou are probably doing it wrong! It’s not hard and it might make someone think something easy is not done properly and all the time they nailed it. Again ~ it’s an easy stitch!
I don't know. I found that reassurance helpful. It seemed a little awkward but it came out correctly.
M1R 0:42
M1L 1:49
Helpful video, thanks
Is there a detailed version of this??
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for sharing 👏
How did you make that triangle?
Following...
what do you do when you flip the project?
0:40 M1R
1:48 M1L
How do you start this patern .?
one question: you show just one knitting row, but
how does it come in the next row? do you again make the increases or do you just knit the row with the same stitch? in case you again do the increases, the one that was right you do it right again, and the left you do it left again
thanks!!
Barbara, It would depend on the pattern you are following.

And about the question you asked,"the one that was right do you do it right again....etc" Yes!
Basically, she keeps increasing at the same point in the row.
I hope I helped you out:) Good luck!
Why do you post and then not answer questions? What’s the point of that?
Are you using the autumn leaves pattern by Elizabeth murphy?
Dommage que l'on à pas le commencement expliquer est il possible d avoir depuis le tout début merci
Would it be opposite if I’m left handed
Thank you very much.
I have a question about the first row of a project with increase.
In the video you made some rows and then you shared this video.
But how is the beginning?
thank you very much I always watch your videos and I really like them.
Thank you :D
Can you please show us the beginning and where the stitch markers go, so we can actually make something with what you showed us? Thank you !
Binky D'Eath hi there! Can you please explain exactly where the two stitch markers go? I cast on 3 stitches then where do I put the markers? I think I understand the pattern, except for when and where the markers go. Thank you for your help.
Vidios

Why whole becomes when I increase from right side
Thank you very helpful
Thank you.
Ohh Muchas gracias este era el punto que buscaba hace tiempo
When you said If that felt easy you probably did it wrong wasn’t helpful at all, made me think I wasn’t doing it right, abit of a negative approach.
She didn't say that?
@@DelphineSerenity she does at 1:20
I thought that was VERY helpful because when I was doing it I was thinking 'this can't be right' . 😂
Do you have a pattern for this? I can't seem to find it. I'm a beginner looking to start. Thanks much
Thanks so so much
What are you making? And how do you start it at the begginging
Thank you!
Beautiful.
Obrigada!!!
thank you!!!!
