    🙌this video helped a lot i just bought a 3020 and was wondering if a case swap was possible

    Lots of good details in this video, thanks. I have a question though, with the 3020, if you were to swap over the Dell fans and USB/Audio panel, would it fix the issues with the alerts on boot? I'm asking because I'd like it to be a seamless boot without having to press any keys, but I want to get a slightly bigger ITX-sized case so I can run a decent GPU and better PSU.

    Just swapping my 3020 into a larger case as the GPU is too big. Was looking for the pin outs and you helped a lot. Thanks. Is there any way to remove the power button error?

      You absolutely can! No adapter needed for the 3010.

    It would be great to see a step by step migration from DELL optiplex SFF into a MICRO ATX case, PLEASE!

      It's been awhile, since I've had my hands on any of these. I will gladly make a video of a complete transfer when I come across a good deal on a few of them. 😊

    That’s a motherboard out of a Dell Precision T1600 ironically I have the 3010 and Precision here with me and the T1600 has a 5pin cpu connector. The 3010 has 4pin. I bought those same connectors from china and the cpu fan attempts to spin for like a milla-second and nothing.. at a loss my PC powers on without me hitting the power button.

      Sorry to see your having trouble with your motherboard. I haven’t tried anything with anything from the precision series of motherboards.

    Hi steven, so i recently picked up a 3020 sff, what size case would you recommend for a swap or do you have a case that you use?

    • @stevenwilliams6638
      @stevenwilliams6638  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Any atx case is fine, I do however prefer using a micro ATX case for these boards.

    I found that doing these dell optiplex case swap builds cost just as much as if I would piece together a mobo, cpu, cooler,ram, Hdd. Becuase I have to buy the adapters to get rid of the Errors not comfortable selling to a customer like that and not even sure if people would even care? What’s your take on it? Definitely looks fun and satisfying

    • @stevenwilliams6638
      @stevenwilliams6638  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me it's much less expensive doing it this way. The only adapter I buy is the 24 pin adapter ,and the fan headers.
      The "errors" aren't really errors at all. Just an alert telling you something proprietary isn't there. As long as you're fully transparent about it I don't have any issue selling these systems.
      I always provide a video of the PC booting up and just how long pressing the "F1" key once sets then back time wise. We usually have a good laugh, and they pay much less for the same PC experience.
      Thanks for the comment.

      @@stevenwilliams6638 I suppose you are right i haven’t done one yet but i would save much less if I did t have to purchase the adapter kit and the kits are for the minitower versions and desk top versions. But the sff versions are much cheaper but as stated by harbin who sells the kit it doesn’t work for the sff version. Maybe I’m just panicking thinking everyone cares about front USB ports and An error that takes few seconds of your time.

      @@henrytom5824 yeah only use the 5$ power adapter for the sff Dells (3020's) again every single one if my customers hasn't minded pressing f1.
      On the 7010's I can see your point for sure. 18.99 for the kit from Harbin and 25$ for the board. Better off buying a standard board at that point.
