@DLM... i bought the 8-24 adapter. When plugged in, the CPU fan spins @ 100%...and it doesn't post. Have you ever experienced that before? Using a Precision T1700
could be a few things, are you getting beeps, i believe two beeps are memory errors, try reseating the memory either way. next would be to unplug the gpu and try plugging your display to the mother boards gpu, if it's still doing the same thing after that then go back to the original setup and if everything works could be a psu issue. now another thing to consider is did you make sure to plug in the cpu supplemental power, that has to be plugged in.
if you refering to the fan adaptor it depends if its a 4 pin or dell 5 pin then you would need that adaptor. as far as having enough ports for the fans, Just get a fan hub that is sata power or a fan kit that has it's own hub.

The nice thing about the Dell Precision T1600 I have is that it came with a regular 24 pin PSU. It does have the proprietary fan headers though. I got around my RX 580 not fitting in the case by getting a PCIe riser cable and 3D printing a GPU stand for the outside of the case. I also bought a new EVGA 650 watt, semi modular PSU to replace the original 450 watt. I had to temporarily put my HD7770 back in for now because I am afraid of my "curious kitty" playing with the cooling fans which I caught her doing once before. I heard a "brrr...brrrr" sound and when I looked, she was playing with the CPU cooler fan! Luckily, I didn't connect the 580 with its MUCH bigger and faster fans at the time! That may have hurt her paw and I'd feel REAL BAD! Maybe I'll de-rivot the HD holder in the case to make the 580 fit inside or just buy a different case or...just put the whole PC in a room and make sure to shut the door behind me when it's on...🤔😁 Nice video , by the way! 👍👍

24 pin to 8 pin seemsa bit sketchy to me. Like running the extra power a larger card like my 1060 won't that burn out that 24 pin to 98 pin connection? What's the white plug near where you putting the 1st fan adapter for? What games will it experience bottlenecking in?
The power adapter extends outside the motherboard 7:44. Won't it give problems in small matx cases?
depends on the case. I put this in a thermaltake matx case and had no issue.

Do you notice if your PSU fans permanently spins even after a full shutdown when using this convertor cable?
after using the 5pin to 4pin fan adapter can you adjust the cpu fan & case fan speed?
not sure never tried to adjust it and just let the pc handle it.
I just put the power switch adapter in my pc and made sure the pins were in the correct spot but it is still giving me the power switch alert when I boot my pc up.
What model optiplex you using? Some required both adaptors.
Great video man but what can i do for the io shield if i need to put on the replacement case rgb
some optiplex's you can just remove them and transfer them over. if not then it really is not a big deal if you don't have the i/o sheild. I have build many of pc's without it and never had an issue.
My Mobo (0yxt71) has a 24 pin power connector would I not need the adapter for that

Would i still have to use that port to power the dvd and hard drive or would I use the sata power cables that are coming out of my new power supply bypassing the hdd_odd port?
either or, it's a matter of preference. I used the one off the psu to keep everything cleaner.
So no sata to pcie cable for running gpus that need just a little bit more power?
Isn’t worth it just to save $40
don't recommend it, I have done it but you start his the power limit of the PSU and it can become unstable, the max I did it with was a 1050ti but even then the load on the cables become concerning.
so true.
If you want to run more power-hungry GPUs look for people selling dual socket Precisions that only have one CPU installed. Hi, I have a T5610 motherboard 0WN7Y6 is there any front IO adaptors for that model?
been checking have not seen any.
@DLM... i bought the 8-24 adapter.
Do you get the F1 key fan errors on boot with the fan adapter cables?
I did not.
What adapter do I need because I want to swap it into a triple fan pc case
if you refering to the fan adaptor it depends if its a 4 pin or dell 5 pin then you would need that adaptor. as far as having enough ports for the fans, Just get a fan hub that is sata power or a fan kit that has it's own hub.

@@DLMtechgarage oh alright then
The nice thing about the Dell Precision T1600 I have is that it came with a regular 24 pin PSU. Maybe I'll de-rivot the HD holder in the case to make the 580 fit inside or just buy a different case or...just put the whole PC in a room and make sure to shut the door behind me when it's on...🤔😁
