Great video. My boss gave me an old dell 3010 optiplex, I was able to upgrade memory to 2x8 ripjaws after a bios upgrade thanks to my cousins guidance, he also sent me a gtx960, after throwing windows on an ssd it's a pretty reliable and cheap machine.
pretty cool video, it seems like some of the newer OptiPlex towers are real pain in the butt to transplant to a new case but in your instance, I’d call that quite a success. Thanks for the upload! I may see if I can get my 3050 small form factor something similar this weekend😂
thanks for video meddling with my HP PAVILIUON 550/059na newer than yours but still upgrading as you know we cant help upgrading lol cheers Alan subbed..
Hello, I have an optiplex 3010, I put two 8gb memories, totql 16gb, SSD 250gb + hd 500, but I have an i3 3240 (I'm going to put an i7), I installed the wi-fi card, so I have a big problem , the video card is not showing a GTX 1050, what could it be, a jumper on the card?
@@FamilyGeekeryI already cleaned the x16 with a brush and isopropyl alcohol, I even took out the CPU and cleaned it, blew the entire board, and nothing
Maybe for you. But not everyone has the same resources. This machine is already in new hands, and they are very happy with it. A lot of channels build awesome machines that not many could afford to build. Especially when the channel gets some of the hardware given to them as a sponsorship. I like to build machines that almost ANYONE could build and afford. My channel is sponsored by $25 old business desktops, lol. But thanks for watching, and sharing your opinion. All opinions are welcome here.
na its not, you can make a very nice system out of those old office pcs -> in mine i upgraded it with an i7 and threw in 16 gb ddr3 memory plus a watercooled 1060 in it, all with the stock psu, did these upgrades just for fun an cuiosity, and it works very nice. i have been playing elden ring on it, hassle free! cheers mate

you were able to put 16gb of ram after the bios update?
Please do a video of BIOS update
How have I never seen your channel before it's amazing
Thank you! And welcome to FamilyGeekery!
Nice vid. When I did this to a Dell Optiplex 3010 I kept the Dell case because its easier than extra expenses on unnecessary adaptors.
25 dollars for that kind of upgraded pc is a very good price!

The SFF might have some differences on the motherboard, so do a little research. And good luck! Let me know how it goes!
Why didn’t you replace the case rear fan with the proprietary fan. It would avoid the F1 hassle.

What is it showing? And are you plugging your monitor into the GPU and not the motherboard?
@@FamilyGeekeryyes, now I went into the bios, removed the video card and put the wi-fi card in its place, for some reason it doesn't recognize x16

I keep the Optiplex case. It is sexy.😊
im actually thinking about switching the old lga 1155 to an am4 mobo in the same model 🤣
Sorry but this is a waste of time using that old Dell
