Ne var ki vali yardımcısının aklına, bizim iki yiğidin yazdığı mektup gelene kadar…Hemen harekete geçen Avustralya hükümeti, tespit ettikleri bölgeye tren yoluyla 250 asker gönderdi. Ancak bizim yiğitler bunun farkında oldukları için, 250 askeri pusuya düşürüp trene saldırdı. 250 kişiye karşı 2 yiğit Türk çetin bir savaş veriyordu. Saatlerce süren savaştan sonra 60 asker öldüren bizim yiğitler, karşısındaki asker topluluğunun üzerine giderek bölgenin biraz dışına çıkarmayı başardı. @@s.r.u2743 Avusturya kaynakları: İngiltere, 1912 yılında Hindistan’a çıkarma yaptı. Bunun üzerine Osmanlı Devleti, Hindistan’a 350 asker sevk etti. Ancak İngilizler, buna rağmen Hindistan’ı işgal edip 40 kadar Osmanlı askerini de kendine esir aldı. İngilizler, esir aldıkları bu Osmanlı askerlerini gemide çalıştırmaya başladı. Hindistan’ı işgal ettikten sonra İngilizler, rotasını müttefiki Avusturya’ya çevirdi. Avustralya limanına demir attıktan kısa bir süre sonra 2 Türk askeri bir yolunu bulup gemiden kaçtı.Bu iki askerlerden biri Karadeniz diyarından Menteşoğlu Abdullah, diğeri ise Karahisar diyarından Tarakçıoğlu Mehmet’ti. İngilizlerin esaretinden kurtulan bu iki arkadaş Avusturya’da izini kaybettirdi. Bu ülkeden doğru ülkesinde olan biten her şeyi takip ediyorlardı. İngilizler limandan ayrıldıktan sonra halkın arasına karışarak iş bulup uzun süre çalıştılar. Ülkelerini sıkı sıkıya takip eden bu iki Türk asker, bir gün Avustralya’nın da İngilizlerle beraber Çanakkale’de Osmanlı Devleti’ne kurşun sıkacağı haberlerini aldılar. İki Türk, bir gece ıssız bir yerde buluşup, ne yapacaklarını uzun uzun konuşup, güzel bir planla sabahı beklemeye koyuldular. Sabahın ilk saatlerinde bu iki Türk, Avustralya hükümetinin valisine bir mektup yazdı. Mektupta devletin üst yetkililerine seslenen bu iki Türk, “Ülkenizde iki Türk bulunuyor. Gelen haberlere göre İngilizlerle beraber Osmanlı’ya savaş açmışsınız. Bundan dolayı biz de sizlere savaş açmış bulunmaktayız. BU BİR OSMANLI SAVAŞ FERMANIDIR. Avustralya’ya ve devlet yetkililerine duyurulur” şeklinde bir mektupla savaş açtı. Ancak devlet yetkilileri bu mektuba aldırış etmedi.Bunun üzerine bu iki Türk, çarşıdan buldukları beyaz ve kırmızı bir bezle Osmanlı bayrağını temsilen bir bayrak yaptılar. Ardından iki yiğit Türk, Avustralya’nın Çanakkale’ye göndermek için trenlerle limana asker ve mühimmat getirdiğini görünce direkt olarak virajlardaki tren raylarını söküp, 3 tren devirdiler. Bu devrilen trenler arasından biri mühimmat taşıyordu ve iki yiğit, hemen mühimmatlanıp şehre doğru ilermeye başladı. İlk olarak bölgede bulunan 8 karakola baskın düzenledi ve 400 civarı asker öldürdüler. Ancak yol üzerinde karşılaştıkları hiçbir sivile karşı silah doğrultmadılar. Halk büyük bir korkuya kapılmış, hükümet neye uğradığını şaşırmıştı. Bu sırada iki Türk, boş durmuyor, tenha yerlerde yakaladıkları 4-5 kişilik asker gruplarına saldırıp, askerleri öldürüyordu. Ülke ayaklanma üzerine kadar gelmiş, hükümet bu duruma anlam veremiyordu. Ne var ki vali yardımcısının aklına, bizim iki yiğidin yazdığı mektup gelene kadar…Hemen harekete geçen Avustralya hükümeti, tespit ettikleri bölgeye tren yoluyla 250 asker gönderdi. Ancak bizim yiğitler bunun farkında oldukları için, 250 askeri pusuya düşürüp trene saldırdı. 250 kişiye karşı 2 yiğit Türk çetin bir savaş veriyordu. Saatlerce süren savaştan sonra 60 asker öldüren bizim yiğitler, karşısındaki asker topluluğunun üzerine giderek bölgenin biraz dışına çıkarmayı başardı. Ülke halkı, cepheden gelen ölü sayılarıyla şoka uğradı. Hatta Osmanlı’ya savaş açtığından dolayı halk, hükümete karşı küçük çaplı bir ayaklanma gerçekleştirdi.Gecenin ilerleyen saatlerine kadar devam eden bu savaş, havanın soğukluğunu iyiden iyiye artırmasından ve cephaneliğin azalmasından dolayı, iki cengaverimiz bu topraklarda şehit düştü. Bu yapılan savaş Avustralya’nın ilk resmi savaşı olarak kayıtlara geçti. 100 bini geçen askeri olmasına rağmen Avustralya ilk resmi savaşını, iki Türk’e karşı çok ağır bir şekilde verdi. Bu iki babayiğit Türk askeri, bu kadar kalabalık Avustralya’ya karşı tüm yüreklerini ortaya koyarak çetin bir şekilde savaşmış, halka büyük bir korku salmış ve hükümete karşı ayaklandırmayı başarmıştı.Şimdi bu iki Osmanlı aslanı, Avustralya Sidney’e 250 km uzaklığındaki Karlıdağlar’da yatıyor. Ancak unutulmamalı ki; Avustralya Devleti, bu iki babayiğidin hakkını mezarlarının olduğu bölgeye Türk Kayalıkları ismini koyarak verdi.
