A function you may wish to use on the Scan 'n' Cut when making stickers is the "Half cut" feature. This will cut around the image but not the backing sheet. Liked you no nonsense video. Thank you
Such a cool function! Great for start up brands or small businesses that want to get their brand name out there. Never thought it could be this easy to make custom stickers
THANK YOU so much for this detailed explanation. We purchased one of these Brother Scan n Cut machines and started our own Etsy business. We had over $20k in sales last year! We owe you one ❤❤❤
I agree. I have had 2 Cricuts but when I got my Scan n Cut, it was a game changer. I primarily do miniatures and my old Scan n Cut CM350 will cut the most amazingly intricate and tiny designs; printed drawn, rubber stamped, you name it. I wish more people knew about this fabulous machine. In my opinion, it is the clear winner in the cutting machine market but a surprising number of people have never heard of it. Thanks for spreading the word with this great video.
I also have both. I have a Cricut Maker 3 and a ScanNCut SDX330D. For sure I like the ScanNCut for stickers. The perfect outline around the stickers is awesome
Thanks! Now I know which button to push to get the silhouette around the design. I guess I need to 'see' it before I can recognize it. Great ‘to the point’ video.
I know this is an old post and this probably isn't even on the market any more - But, how did u get trhe decals printed on the that sheet in the first place. Did u just use home printer? will the colors run if they get wet? Very interested.
Hi - this machine is still available. Here's our Amazon affiliate link amzn.to/3Xm5ZDe. We used a home printer to print the images first. There is water resistent sticker paper - some say waterproof, but I'm not 100% sold on that so I like to use laminate on top of my stickers. I like this sticker paper amzn.to/470wl0V with this laminate sheet amzn.to/3XoRUE3.
Hello, my machine is brand new I was gonna use after the quick start paper craft and it won't recognize my sticker paper and each time it tries to "cut" it doesn't it only hovers around and touches the paper but the blade does not go through
Technically you can use the built in 12x12 inch 600 DPI color scanning feature to do the same. Just use a standard scanning mat or even a worn out less sticky standard DX cutting mat. If the mat is still quite tacky then the paper may be tough to near impossible to remove from the mat. Save it to an attached USB Flash Drive or to your PC either over Wi-Fi or USB cable. The scan to data feature is mighty handy as well. Or just scan to USB for all sorts of archival purposes.
Hi. Would SDX900 be able to do this? I have searched the internet and it says it can but I have not seen any videos of sticker making using the SDX900 and that makes me wonder why 😂
Not 100% sure. We will have to give it a try. We laminated right over the registration marks and cut perfectly with the Cricut Joy Xtra but haven’t been successful doing that with the maker.
Hi, the machine is not available now, I know this video is 3 years old but can anyone let me know if this machine will be as good ?BROTHER ScanNCut SDX900 Home Cutting Machine

Hello! When I cut circles with my plotter it leaves more white margin on one side than the other, do you know why it does it? when detecting the sticker I do not see that it is uneven
It also comes with pen accessories for drawing. It supports paper piercing, metal / paper embossing, foiling with glue pens, making rhinestone templates, metal engraving with 3rd party tool from Zoom, and lots of other cool things. With some creativity you can find ways to do much of what is done through the add-on software and kits.
Have you has issues with your vinyl sticking to the standard tack and ripping the back of the sticker paper off? Standard seems to be a little too sticky for me
We've had the SDX125E and the SDX230DI and scan and cut works on both. I did look at Brother's site and that feature is part of the SDX85 as well www.brother-usa.com/home/cutting-machines/sdx85.

Does it cut through laminated stickers well?
A function you may wish to use on the Scan 'n' Cut when making stickers is the "Half cut" feature. This will cut around the image but not the backing sheet. Liked you no nonsense video. Thank you
Thanks for watching and the reminder about half cuts. Great tip!
🥰
Thanks for answering my question! The cut you're referring to is known as the "kiss cut".
I’m looking for a better cut machine and this video sold me on the ‘Brother’ and I watched a dozen videos, so thank you.
You’re welcome. Hope you love it. 😊

Thank you for showing this in a quick video!!! Best tutorial!
You’re welcome. Glad it was helpful.
What’s a good printer to use to make the sheets first? Does it need to be a sublimation printer?
ANY printer will work! Laser, inkjet, whatever! No sublimation needed for stickers. So easy!

Hi, my question is: the black blade do the job without need calibration? Can you share the type of paper? Awesome video!
For stickers, I like to use Joyeza - amzn.to/3SAhc03 #ad. It's been a minute, but I don't remember ever calibrating this machine for them.

I haven't experienced that with this machine but have with others. I've foudn that taking the blade out and putting it back in helped.
That’s awesome- what kind of label paper? Weatherproof Avery?
Yes! That works perfect! And use a LASER printer if you can because it won't fade with water. Sorry so late. Did you try it?

Can you use opaque heat press paper and an inkjet?
How do you make everything look so easy?
It IS easy Miso!
What paper do I need. I want to make stickers exactly like this video. Peel and stick?
Try Avery 95920.
ROCKSTAR!
No way! Technically, you could COPY a design using a color copier and cut it out a million times. That is a game changer!
SHHHH! The trademark companies are watching. Now go make stickers!

I didn't even know there was a SDX900. I'll have to reach that.
Does it cut card stock?
Yes
Does the vinyl have the sticky back already on it and in what instance would I need transfer tape
Yes, vinyl is sticky on the back. You use transfer tape to lift cut vinyl from its backing and transfer it to an object (mug, sign, ornament, etc).
Thanks. Excellent video
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
I have a bunch on small stickers could I use this machine to scan cut the white borders off?
You could. It may be a little challenging (with any machine) if the white border is narrow.
Can this read glossy / halographic sticker sheets? As I do have a cricut and my issue is cutting out my glossy stickers after laminating.
Not 100% sure. We will have to give it a try. We laminated right over the registration marks and cut perfectly with the Cricut Joy Xtra but haven’t been successful doing that with the maker.
I had seen smothering like this in a custom bike garage!!

Yes it does
@@craftwithfelicia did u make tutorial for half cut before ?
What software are you using to print and size your stickers?
You can do it either via the LCD screen on the machine itself or by using Brothers software called Canvas Workspace.
How does it work with heat press vinyl?
Works just like the Cricut or Silhouette. The machine cuts your HTV and you use an iron or heat press and adhere it to your garmet. 😃
I need this asap!!!!!!
It's a lot of fun!!
I had no idea this cutter could scan too

We have and use the low tack more often.
Does it cut with no margin at all ?
Yes, you can cut with no margin if you want to
It wont draw lines around my stickers… maybe my images are too small ?
Hmmmm…. Not sure. I wouldn’t think the size of the image would matter.
Great art there. Looks like a decrepit Mickey!
