- On the second day of filming this episode, I saw two guys sitting on a bench and asked them if they wanted to be a part of my film project. I assumed they were friends but a few minutes into our conversation I found out they were actually strangers and hadn't even talked until I approached them. I said- "you guys are friends right?" The one on the right said "haha oh no.. we've never met." Then the guy on the left turned to him and said, "what's up man, my name is Troy.." ... "I'm Jesus, nice to meet you." I asked both of them the question and Troy went first. He talked about how he struggled to tell his parents he loved them.. he ended up calling his mom on the spot and nervously struggled to get the words out. Off camera I asked him why he was struggling and he told me that he thinks it's because him and his friends (and his parents) don't usually communicate when it comes to affection and struggles they are going through. Then Jesus, went. He spoke about the last time he told his mom he loved her which was a few days before she passed away from cancer. Even though I could tell there was a lot of pain behind his words, he kept it together while answering. I asked him how he was able to talk about it so comfortably.. he said it was because him and his friends ALWAYS talk about how they are feeling.. that sharing their struggles is a normal conversation. I walked away from the bench and continued filming.. for the next hour, every time I looked over at the bench I saw them in deep conversation. This was honestly my favorite moment of filming so far. To me it showed what a difference talking about our struggles can make... and how close we are to feeling better about our struggles if we simply open the conversation. Troy and Jesus lived completely different lives and had completely different answers... and I think they both ended up on that bench because they were meant to meet and I was lucky enough to be there when they did. Troy and and Jesus are the last two strangers in this episode. I want to thank them again and everyone who is kind enough to stop and talk to me. I feel so lucky :]

Honestly the main reason I'm still alive is the hope I someday experience it. To have the love you wish existed. To feel the things you dream about. I've noticed that happening in Australia, too. People that look Asian get avoided quite a lot, even when they don't look one bit Chinese! Filipinos, for example, look nothing like the Chinese.
Also, the virus may have come from China, but at this point China barely has any cases. If anything, you'd have to avoid Americans now thanks to Trump!

That’s one of the reasons I didn’t like to say it back to people I played water polo with. They would tell me they love me, then talk to other people and not really talk to me. I could tell they didn’t mean it, but I still said it back in case they needed to hear it. I don’t say it as often now though, and I think that’s a good thing.

When I was in middle school, there was a girl that I met in 6th grade. We talked to each other only through one activity in one class, and we clicked. From that day on, our friendship grew so much and she was everything to me. First day of 8th grade, I finally built the courage to walk up to her and tell her that I loved her. The greatest thing about that type of love, was that it wasn’t because we were in a relationship, it just felt amazing to always know that to one person, you mattered so much. And from that day on, every night and every morning we told each other that we loved each other because it was comforting and real. There wasn’t pressure in doing everything right. It was just genuine compassion for one another.
Unfortunately my freshman year of high school, we had a falling out. We completely parted ways. And it was because of a very poor mistake that I made. It was a big learning curve for me, but I understood what genuine love was, and understood that if I ever wanted that love again from anyone, I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that love.

I tell people that I love them all the time. But every time I do, although just as friends, I genuinely mean it. The people in my life mean the absolute world to me, and I would be shattered if any single one of them was hurt. God has blessed me so much.

Be happy that you were able to say it, some of us are too shy or too stupid to break that bareer. When my grandma was about to pass away I could only tell her "Perdon abue" (I'm sorry grandma) and I started sobbing and crying, she conforted me... some days after that she passed away. I send you a big hug and may you and your grandma reunite when it's the time :)

I wasn’t asked but my first “ I love you” was when I was 7. I was about to be sent to foster care but then my grandpa showed up and took me home with him.After a few weeks, I had started to settle down and grandpa and I where eating chicken nuggets and I told him I loved him. Being a grouchy old man who never smiled, I saw a grin under his mustache and from then on I was his shadow and he raised me from then on.

The way the asian guy and his mom talked about everything, her lecture, his trying to express his love, her talking about herself, him trying to find himself, her speaking her native tongue, him speaking a westernized, americanized version of it; it all accurately depicts the reality of Asian American culture. (I'll add that I'm a humanist who happens to be embodying the life of an Asian American woman).

Coming from an Est-European country, I can relate. My mom is the same, there is always a tabou when it comes to saying your family relatives you love them, so when you find the courage in your adult life to say it but your mom talks about anything else like their last experience in life, you know it's a way for them say it back to you in their own way ❤️ I don't know why it's like that but I know deep down that it's a way to say I love you back

But i feel like i can tell them in english because it feels like it holds no meaning but i could never tell them in spanish because it when i really mean it and when i think about it i feel a bit guilty since i havent told them in years and if i tell them out of no where theyll just brush it off and i kinda dont want that, but in any language i cant tell my father that since he would see me as weak for some reason
yeah, speaking English feels to me much easier for express intimate things... it fells as not serious. I always say "love you" to others but never say "ti amo" (maybe only to my mum), in my head the two meaning have different weight

The guy talking about his mum before she passed away really made me tear up. Something about it just really hit different. I love my mum so much, even though I say I love you every time we call, I don't think I say it enough. I just want her to know that I really do love her. I couldn't imagine life without her, honestly.

all I could say was "...what do you mean?" LOL
He replied "I mean that I love you...I'm in love with you. You don't have to say anything I just wanted you to know...sorry if it's too much or..." and I literally couldn't say A SINGLE WORLD for at least 2\3 minutes straight after that, because I was too happy and excited.
Then I finally said it (and I really wanted to, for such a long time!): " I love you. I'm sorry, I'm so happy that I literally freezed. I love you too."
And then yes, I cried a tiny little bit trying to hide it not to look crazy. Then I realized that he was doing the same.

Ever since a kid I’ve experienced discrimination but I think growing up that way really makes you accustomed to it, and you should never start accepting it, it’s not right and nobody should be treated that way. After realizing that I started standing up for myself. But still there are those moments when you think if it is a losing battle, just recently because of the corona virus I’ve been yelled at things like “go back to wuhan”. Maybe she isn't sugar sweet & mushy, but she loves him with every aspect in her being. U don't have to move in w/ your folks, but its worth being close enough to be able to see them frequently.

When my gramma was on her death bed I went to see her one last time. I had my wife and 3 daughters with me. I remember walking in the room and sitting beside her on the bed. She was so frail and so weak but she reached for my hand. We had a very special connection more so than my siblings. She knew I was hurting inside while I sat there holding her hand. I always tried to be a tough guy around her and especially around my girls. I always Talk to her when she was lonely after my grandpa died. She rubbed my hand and told me she was tired and it was time for her to go. I stared into her eyes holding the tears back. We both knew this was the last time I was going to hold her. It was the last time I was going to hear her soft voice. My emotional welling up inside me I told her I loved her so much and all my tears burst out of me. On her death bed too weak to get out of she held my head in her hands and whispered in my ear “I love you too sweetheart”. We just stayed holding each other for a while. She died that night and I still miss her but I will always remember how much we loved each other.

Mine was the only time so far (I'm 15) but it was one night when I had a nightmare, and my dad wanted to comfort me so he stayed with me until I fell asleep. And I was just tearing up behind him, because he knows that I love him but I have a very hard time expressing my emotions, and I just straight up told him "Dad... So...After constantly watching your "calling your crush" videos, 2 weeks ago I decided to invite my best friend of 9 years of friendship to a date and tell her what I felt for her, unfortunately she started crying and told me that she could not see me with other eyes and she did not want to lose what we have, at the time I felt nothing, but as the days went by I realized what I had done, the truth is that it hurts so much that someone reject you, especially someone you know many years ago...but I learned a lot, do I regret doing it? no, not at all, in fact I am glad that I had the courage to tell her cuz i dont want to live with the question of "what if I had done this". Did our friendship change something? Honestly nope, we are even closer, it hurts to be next to the person you love but she doesn't love you? i know she loves me but in her own way, I know that she loves me since she has been there for me in the most difficult moments of my life, Are u going to keep talking to her and be friends? YES! if the person you consider your friend, is always there adding positive things to you and makes you a better person to live a better life, those people are the ones that you have to keep because there are few who do that.

I’m in the same boat man. There’s this girl I work with and over the last few months I started to realize that we sort of had this special connection. I started watching these videos and somehow mustered up the courage and ended up bringing in flowers to work and surprising her, since I knew she was having a pretty rough week, and I’m going to be moving to third shift so I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. I asked her if she wanted to go on a date, but unfortunately she said that she had past experiences with dating coworkers that went south so she wants to remain friends. I told her it was ok and that I understood, but it definitely is a punch in the gut to have to be around someone now who I genuinely love, but doesn’t reciprocate the same feelings. It’s tough for sure, but at the same time, as extremely introverted as I am, I’m proud of myself for stepping outside my comfort zone

@@blancaah6 cuz I'm good at identifying Latino accents. Her accent was definitely not Spanish since Spanish people speak with a sorta lisp.. Her accent was very neutral so I can also scratch off Argentinian, Colombian, Venezuelan, Bolivian, Uruguayan and most of South American for that matter. If I were to take a guess I'd say Mexican, Central American or maybe Caribbean but definitely Latina.

It's weird. I'm a 42-year-old man, I've had several important and long-lasting relationships in my life, and I can only recall saying "I love you" in a meaningful, deep way on two occasions.
1. To my ex-wife, when we had our daughter (my first). I was with her during labor and when she was holding our baby I told her: "I love you so much". That was years into our marriage (it wasn't a good one) and we divorced about five years after that. But I felt it; more than romantic love it was a deep feeling of gratitude and awe for what she had been through and the miracle of a new life.
2. To my current wife, when we were dating. Very early; I mean ridiculously early. I think it was during the first week of just getting to know each other (we were in a long-distance relationship). I just told her I loved her. There was such a connection with her that the very first day we actually met I actually texted my best friend later that night and told him: "Dude, I have just met the future mother of my kids."
We have one daughter and another one on the way. Funny how life is.

Now i am not an expert but Expressing love is more important than just feeling it people have to know that you love them it gives them sence of security and trust it pushes them to put more effort in the relationship when they know that someone love them I don’t know why your first marriage ended but i am guessing lack of expression contributed to it
