Thanks! I appreciate you very much Marty, you and others have helped me on my guitar playing journey, this is right up my alley as I love playing Surf Rock and guitar instrumentals! God Bless!
This is probably my favorite score of all time. From the theme to the orchestration to everything! And also the fact that it is one of the most iconic scores to any movie. Nice to see that your tutorials are becoming more diverse. Great work. Keep it up 👍.
Watching this because I just learned of Vic Flick’s passing. I had no idea who he was until today. Looking back over his career his guitar was heard on many recordings. IMO he was the Steve Lukather of his time RIP
Great video, Marty. After the initial main theme I see that you are playing Low E, then the octave E on the D string, then open D. Watching Vic play it, he played Low E > D Sharp > D, the latter two notes on the A string 6th and 5th frets.
MARTY YOU GENIUS! I just used my Squier stratocaster to actually make the 007 0-2-2-0-0-0-0-3-3-3-2-2 riff and I was SO EXCITED to hear the actual Bond sound come out of my own guitar. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Played along with this on my strat but it sounded noticeably brighter, my strat has a maple neck, Kinda wish i had rosewood sometimes for that bit of a warmer sound XD
Brother Marty I’m lovin your tutorials you’ve been a great friend in music…maybe sleepwalk would fit in nicely?? Thank You 🙏🏻 Brother Love and Light ❣️❣️❣️
I love your great teaching style Marty! Would it be possible to teach at least a part of "The turning away" from Pink Floyd? It is so actual. Thank you!
I love this song, I never saw this video coming! Also, not sure if you take suggestions, but if so, maybe you could do a video on "Misery Business" by Paramore if you havent already done that. Thanks!
Vic Flick (yes, really) was apparently just paid £6 for his performance of the Bond theme. As it has been used in pretty much every Bond film, he must have been really ticked off by that! 😎🎸🎸
For anyone interested, there is episode of pawn stars where the original writter Rick Flick i believe, trades in his strat that he used to write this song and many other very famous theme songs.
I've had a lot of fun learning this song, one I've always wanted to learn! I have a Boss Katana amp as well, but am having trouble getting the right tone, especially the reverb. Can you share your settings for this?
FYI towards the end, after the descending chromatic, it jumps up to d# (maj 7th) then to the d natural (b7). You jump up to the octave instead. In case anybody sees this vid and wonders why it’s not sounding quite right
Sorry to pull the ackshoooally 😂 .. never seen the old bond movies but I heard this on NPR the other day (RIP Vic Flick) and was playing it by memory this am.. I googled Bond guitar to find the recording and this came up. The continuing chromatic line with the register/octave jump is part of what gives this the “spy” sound though, gotta get that right!
Hey Marty, I'm not one to be commenting and requesting. Loved your tutorials since House of the Rising Sun, The Weight and few other classics. I wanted to know if you can do a tutorial for Shalala by Moses Gunn Collective? Really like the song, I partially understand chords but considering I like to learn visually I just wanted to request to see a tutorial for it! Found it earlier this year and would like to know how to play it lol Thanks if your able to!! Again thanks for all the tutorials!
Literal unknown guitarist Vic Flick! The man wrote thousands of theme songs, commercial jingles, played on thousands of uncredited hit songs. Famously sold his guitar on Pawn Stars! Someone out there owns Vic’s Stratocaster.
Hey Marty I'm struggling deciding which guitar to replace my Squire Strat, I choosing between an "Epiphone Ebony LP Special II" and "Ibanez Black Top AS53 Semi-Hollow" Guitar I like the Grunge sound but also the classic Beatles sound, which one sound I choose?
The Bond Theme evokes an atmosphere like no other song.
one of the greatest songs ever created. doesn’t matter which rendition, they are all incredible. the tone and mood is astronomically incredible.
i nneda mission impossibel
That and The Munsters theme!
Reverb is a beautiful thing !!!
Thanks! I appreciate you very much Marty, you and others have helped me on my guitar playing journey, this is right up my alley as I love playing Surf Rock and guitar instrumentals! God Bless!
Thanks

Check out Vic Flick the creator of this song selling his Stratocaster on Pawn Stars !
Marty never runs out of songs I didn't know I needed to learn. Thanks dude👍
So pleased you did the James Bond theme Marty
There is literally nothing more cool than this!
Top news: There's gonna be a next 007 movie where James Bond is played by marty schwarz. Movie is coming 2024 🔥🔥

Watching this because I just learned of Vic Flick’s passing. I had no idea who he was until today. Looking back over his career his guitar was heard on many recordings. IMO he was the Steve Lukather of his time RIP
bought my first guitar 3 days ago and i’ve never felt cooler, especially that opening with the power chord, BIG UP MARTY SCHWARZ 🎉🎉
Definitely wasn't expecting this! Fun themes all around, and classic!
Yeah, fun and bonus, it is a great theme.
Cool riffs!! Thanks Marty!!
MARTY THIS IS GETTING ME BACK INTO GUITAR
I LOVE classic 60s theme songs! More reverb the better! How about the good the bad and the ugly?
I never knew I needed this in my life; but now it is. Super as always Marty.
This was a fun lesson Marty, thanks! Was definitely surprised when I saw the thumbnail lol.
Great video, Marty. After the initial main theme I see that you are playing Low E, then the octave E on the D string, then open D. Watching Vic play it, he played Low E > D Sharp > D, the latter two notes on the A string 6th and 5th frets.
Just love it. And you nailed the tone. It really brought me back to the old movies. Thanks so much!
Hell ya what a perfect time to learn the song since I just started playing 007 Everything or Nothing on the GameCube. Thank you Marty!
I love you marty
Marty you bring the fun and excitement in playing guitar 🎸. I love this classic 007 theme riff.
The 007 Theme is a different one -- also a very good one.
OO7 Theme,MelodyJohn Barry, Started Alternative To Original James Bond Theme Medley Monty Norman/John Barry.
Awesome Marty
The first time I see Marty not wearing a hat I'm going to freak out!
Crazy cool!!! Something I would have never thought about playing but now I'm on it.
On Pawn Stars, Vic Flick sold the guitar he recorded this on in the studio (1962?) I think he got high five figures for it. A classic.
Cool.. as a beginner I love learning classic themes. A lot of times, they arent super hard, but everyone knows them and they are fun to play.
Do ghostbusters next!
Cool. Tons of reverb. Sounds really good.
Thanks Marty 😃
Thanks for these quick lessons Marty, they are great!!
Learning different genre/riffs is mind opening 😎

Played along with this on my strat but it sounded noticeably brighter, my strat has a maple neck, Kinda wish i had rosewood sometimes for that bit of a warmer sound XD
thanks i can’t wait to play this badass song
Hi Marty, thank you. I've been wanting to learn this since I was a kid which was a long time ago and you made it easy. You're a good dude.
i was literally talking about this last week hardly the patience to play though but i will!
Groovy man groovy!
I hate to point it out, but in the main riff, it's E flat to D, not E to D. It makes a huge difference.
I was going to point out the same thing. Nobody else is catching that lol
Marty please do bittersweet by big head todd trying to learn but I know you will explain it best.
Told my friend to check you out TY 😊 Happy Holidays 🎅 😊
Just got the wife to start these from the very beginning for the first time, so I HAD to come learn this! Also, requesting Laugh'n'A1/2 by D.A.D.
Love it Marty super fun very cool
Thank you for all you do💯
Forgot about this until I saw Vic Flick on Pawn Stars. Sounds great on my '66 Rickenbacker 360.
Shaken not stirred !!!😎😎
Beach music for a theme, due to visiting exotic locations, was brilliant

No other way to describe it than, “That Spy Sound”? 🤣
I love your great teaching style Marty! Would it be possible to teach at least a part of "The turning away" from Pink Floyd? It is so actual. Thank you!
Wow what a fun song. Playing it on the Squier Mustang absolute blast 🔥
I'd love to see you teach Suspicious Minds with its very cool chord intro.

Marty I'm very disappointed at that missed name introduction opportunity at the beginning of the video

Where do you get the settings on the amp
I will be playing this whilst sneaking around my house
I've had a lot of fun learning this song, one I've always wanted to learn! I have a Boss Katana amp as well, but am having trouble getting the right tone, especially the reverb. Can you share your settings for this?
I'm going to learn this.
And then I'm going to look towards becoming THE FIRST INDIAN JAMES BOND.
I'm groundbreaking like that.
I’m wondering if a Boss Katana mk-2 (100w) is loud enough to play over drums. Like is it loud enough to be more than a practice amp?
